Disclaimer: I am so sorry I called Led Zeppelin a “he” at the start
I stupidly thought it was a solo singer (as I completely blind reacted)
So I’m sorry about that hahah!!

If you like a "bit of drum" Led Zepp - "When the Levee Breaks" contains drumming every drummer would put on their list😉
BTW Led Zeppelin are a heavily blues & folk influenced rock band.

Blind reaction was absolutely perfect, i knew once you called them that i'd be in for a ride.
What they are playing here is called blues and it doesn't quite go with the flow of most other genres. In blues, it's all about what they call fermentation. The longer the song runs, the better it gets. But of course zeppelin adds their own twist.
I'm around your age and only discovered zeppelin this summer but was instantly hooked. If you really want to go on a journey with the greatest rock band that ever was and will be, do it right. Get some headphones, download their first album and listen to it all the way through whilst doing nothing with no distractions. After the first album then move on to the second and so forth. Go through it chronologically.
Also subbed af if you plan on doing more zeppelin

Lol. He? Them. Four of the greatest musicians ever assembled... and that’s not hyperbole. The only genre that you can put them in is maybe rock, they are too musically diverse to pin them into any spot. This song is blues, they also have soul, gospel, folk, etc, they got it all covered. Check out anything by them. Whole Lotta Love or Dazed and Confused are a couple to start you on. Enjoy!
PS, that crop top is probably some groupies that he rocked.

Led Zeppelin were the biggest band in the world for the whole of the seventies even bigger than the music industry at one point. Each member is regularly ranked in the top five of any music poll. Guitarist Jimmy Page is usually ranked in the top three & drummer John Bonham (RIP) is considered the best drummer ever. Everyone wanted what they had but few if any could ever surpass them

Early on they struggled to get bands to open for them, so they decided to be the whole show.
They could be on stage for 2-3 hours where they’d stretch out their songs, turning and jamming a 5 minute song into 15minute show of its own. Four geniuses

Led Zeppelin were usually classed as 'heavy rock' or hard rolk'. Though they also did a lot of blues rock, as here, and folk rock. Tbh, they mixed a lot of different styles and made their own unique sound. There's a good reason they're the 2nd biggest band of all-time, after the Beatles. They're also considered the second most influential band of all-time, after you-know-who. When it comes to rock, they are, quite literally, the GOATs! Individually too, all 4 members are leading candidates, for GOAT, on their particular instrument/s.

Blues and Soul were also really popular in Britain at the time, so there's a huge influence in the music during the time. Robert Plant (Singer) was a massive blues fan from the time he was a teen (if I'm remembering correctly) and I think that John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page had been in a bluesy band before Led Zeppelin was formed. So the combination of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page was absolutely inspired.

Led Zeppelin is sort of early classic rock. Very blues influenced. One of the most notable things I find with rock is that the instruments tend to be considered just as or more important than the vocals with long instrumental sections and solos. This is even more apparent with metal which is descended from this sort of rock. Led Zeppelin is my dad's favourite band.

The beauty of Zep is that there was often no obvious song title (Black Dog, react to that). Verse, chorus, it was up to you to identify them, they didn't conform to norms. This band is mystical, I think they wanted it that way. Part of the journey of it.

In 1969 I was 19. I rode out from D.C to a pavilion in Maryland and saw my first Led Zeppelin concert. I was on a motorcycle so I was completely straight. No drugs. No alcohol. D.C traffic is bad enough anyway. I was completely blown away! That concert is now one of the epic ones looked back on and many wish they had been there. After the concert, I got back on my bike to leave and one of the girls Robert Plant had whipped into a frenzy came up to me and put her hand on my bare chest. Just a vest and no shirt which was very popular Summer wear then. She put her face in mine and said she wanted o go for a ride. She hopped on the back and her boyfriend ask her what the hell she was doing "Going for a ride" "OH hell no you aren't!" Easy come easy go. I think maybe drugs and/or alcohol had been on her menu that night. ;)

led zeppelin was a blues band at their core, and this song is definitely blues, but listen to songs throughout their discography, and you can feel that they were really the first "acid rock" band, heavy metal, blues, and even folk. They are the most diverse band ever. Check out The Song Remains the Same and Rain Song from that same concert..it will blow your mind!! Live at Madison Square Garden 1973.

Led Zeppelin was a hard rock/heavy blues style band. They took American blues and added a hard, heavy aspect to it. In addition to blues, they played acoustic, ballads, rock, rockabilly (yes, there's a difference), funk, folk, prog rock and a bit of what might be called "world music". Each song is a journey so I hope you do more of their songs.

I know I am late to respond but Led Zeppelin is rock band that in their early years played a lot of blues rock and this is a blues song. They have play mostly hard rock, blues rock and they also play some acoustic folk and acoustic blues and have also stretched out into Eastern music funk and even Reggae. They began around 1968/69 and were together until the death of their drummer around 1980. They were one of the biggest, if not the biggest band in the 1970s.

After the studio version, then watch the live version to see how the guitarists, Jimmy Page, makes those eerie sounds (hint: Cello/violin bow 'on a guitar yet'). Of course, you won't go wrong with "Kashmir" or "Babe I;m Gonna Leave You", or just about anything else that gets suggested here.

Led Zeppelin is and always will be my #1 all-time favorite band and were responsible for influencing me to sing and occasionally play guitar in bands.
I was supposed to see them live, for the first time, in Nov. of 1980 @ the former Philadelphia Spectrum.
But unfortunately & tragically their unmatched kicka** drummer John Bonham died in September from choking on his own vomit, in his sleep, from a drinking binge the night before at the guitarist's Jimmy Page's home. Their music still moves and effects me.
Anyway Hannahh, to answer your question as far as genre, Led Zeppelin is considered, by many, to be a southern blues, jazz, with a twist of soul and a sprig of funk based hard rock band.
You can hear what I mean on their track "The Wonton Song" from their 1979 double album "Physical Graffiti."
You should, give it a listen. 😊

This is a reaction from a girl in... what country? English-speaking anyway, is she English? Well, let me tell you that I'm from Chile, a country that in the 70s was from the third world, well, it seems that we still haven't gone out there, and at that time it was impossible for a band like Led Zeppelin to perform in a country like our. However, around the year 1977 or 1978 in my country the movie "the song remains the same" premiered, at that time it was kinetic with "surround" sound, I was about 14 or 15 years old and I was amazed with a group of friends who went to see that movie, and I've been a Led Zeppelin fan ever since. Today I am 59 years old, and I am still a fan of Led Zeppelin, I have seen thousands of times the videos of the songs from this movie since then and I never tire of seeing them again. It is, for me, the best progressive rock band of the 70's.

This is a legendary rock band! One of the first ones to command a majority of the money earned from performing a concert. Before them, a band usually got like 30%, and the remaining 70% went exclusively to the concert's promoter; after them, the split of the money was 90% band and 10% promoter. (It also helped that Led Zeppelin had a former all-in wrestler as their manager who used to physically intimidate the promoters.)
They were the ones that became the epitome of the crazy aftershow stuff bands and their stage crews in the 70s and 80s used to do in hotels: riding motorcycles down hallways, trashing rooms, a lot of drinking and drugs, and hooking up with a lot of groupies (heck, there's an urban legend out there where some band members and roadies somehow got a young groupie to take this fish they had caught from a bay right outside their hotel window and (ahem) "use" it in a way not usually used by women...yeah, that way....).

Pure rock and roll, which is grounded in blues and jazz but includes individual. brilliance. One of the best bands ever. But how can you say that you wouldn't want to listen to them?

Led zeppelin is considered the biggest hard rock band ever. There a British super group. Thus performance was from the early 70s . They have a very large catalog of number one hits. Jimmy page the guitarist was the reason I took up the guitar. My dad was a famous drummer and tought me drumming at a early age. But he took me to a zep concert and I seen Jimmy page murder that double neck guitar and I was hooked. . You should check out some of there harder songs. Like " Whole Lotta Love"

He's not wearing a crop top per set it was his girlfriends shirt he just put it on before the gig, recorded 1973 MSG New York, this music was then known as blues based rock or just rock, now its termed as classic rock

This band happens to be just one of the most Legendary bands of all time. They were broke up in 1980 after tragically John Bonham (drummer) passed away. They knew they could never replace him so they just called it quits. They have performed together here and there but just never the same. The last time they performed was in 2007 for one night only, when they announced it they broke world records of ticket request over 20 million so they had to do a lottery. Only 20 thousand luckiest people was able to see history magic.

One of the epic bands of the 70’s therefore you really should hear Pink Floyd “dark side of the moon”
Great reaction always enjoy seeing young people discovering music when there was no auto tune, when musicians had to rely on their talent to play

This is one of those songs that is an exception to the rule about listening to live versions first. Only because Robert Plant does so much improvisation it changes the vocals to be almost unrecognizable in some ways. It's an amazing performance for that reason alone, but it's hard to appreciate if you don't know how his vocals originally sounded. Go back and listen to the studio version. You'll see what I mean.

The genre for this song would be heavily blues based rock. Most of Zeppelins songs are blues based but this one more than most. They have many other songs that I think might be to your liking. Cause Zep experimented in many styles. Maybe try "The Ocean" for starters. "Blackdog" also I think is more your style. "Dy'er Maker" has sort of a soft reggae feel to it you may like. Led Zeppelin is a group by the way and not a person. The lead singer is Robert Plant and the Guitarists is Jimmy Page. Bassist/keyboard player John Paul Jones andf the drummer john Bonham. And judging by your accent they are countrymen of yours. This is from a 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Every song from this concert is fire. Zeppelin is the biggest most popular band from the 70's and they still are like number 3 or 4 all time in album sales for rock bands.
