I was molested by 3 of them....So this movie is VERY important. We need the names so that others might stop and the public can be safer from these jerks. Great casting I have to add too!

I really lucked out and went down the right path(s) and became someone I can look in the mirror and be proud of. But I don't feel very comfortable with who is giving the Mass...Sadly I find myself wondering if the Priest is "one of them?" Which is not fair to him I know. Saw it last night. Excellent, excellent film. The writing, acting, even the music by Howard Shore were superb. It had an intimate and "real" indie feel to it, but with big name actors. Kudos to the director. Moving piece. Told my journalist friends to go see it.

It's not too late to bring him to justice.
FINALLY a good movie comes out. I'm tired of these lame comedies, dumb kid movies and over-saturated drama films that Hollywoods producing. this movie is a breath of fresh air. Will definitely see it.

It's not the state of film making right now that has an absence of quality. It's just what the majority of the population are interested in. If you look for them theres plenty of great film like Spotlight hopefully will be.

I just feel that the Best Actor award is constantly given to an actor portraying someone with a disease or disability. Eddie Redmayne was great... he really was. But what Keaton did in Birdman, to me, surpassed Redmayne's performance. I'm just tired of the Best Actor award being given to people with diseases/disabilities.
I was agnostic before I saw this film when it came out, I walked out of the theater as an atheist. I know the vast majority of Catholics are decent, upstanding people and I think religion can be a beautiful thing when done right, but this film made me realize how much power institutions like the Catholic Church have over everything from legislative power to the legal system, and I personally believe that it’s impossible not to be corrupted by that kind of power. It feels more like a mob family than an organization dedicated to the betterment of others (btw I’m referring to the Catholic Church as an institution, I’d hate to anger or offend any Catholics who had nothing to do with what happened to these kids.)

Lilith Fair I worked there. The company is filled with ineffective management and company politics. One of the worst experiences of my life. When I left, it was like a brand new day. Love this film. Best Tall Guy Played by a Short Guy 2015 goes to Mark Ruffalo who played Mike Rezendes in Tom McCarthy's "SPOTLIGHT" (2015). The cast conveyed this wonderful wideeyed naivety I'd only seen in David Fincher's "ZODIAC" (2007), particularly Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllanhaal)'s resillient investigative reporter, before. Both of these films conveys the eye opening of our culture to evil previously beyond our experience in a way from which there is no going back.
The trailer makes many of the supposed villains look a lot slimier than they do in the actual film (not complaining, that's just how you cut a good trailer), like Billy Crudup's lawyer character. His response to Keaton's "two stories" jab is an amazing turning point in the film that I did not see coming.
I want another Batman with Keaton ! No, actually I DEMAND another Batman with KEATON. I dont care if he's not in his 30's anymore or if he's not interested, make him do another one ! please? :)

I was agnostic before I saw this film when it came out, I walked out of the theater as an atheist. I know the vast majority of Catholics are decent, upstanding people and I think religion can be a beautiful thing when done right, but this film made me realize how much power institutions like the Catholic Church have over everything from legislative power to the legal system, and I personally believe that it’s impossible not to be corrupted by that kind of power. It feels more like a mob family than an organization dedicated to the betterment of others (btw I’m referring to the Catholic Church as an institution, I’d hate to anger or offend any Catholics who had nothing to do with what happened to these kids.)
This reminds of the lyrics of the Epica song Cry For The Moon

Lilith Fair I worked there. The company is filled with ineffective management and company politics. One of the worst experiences of my life. When I left, it was like a brand new day. The negativity was finally gone. This shines though in the content they report on. Its all liberal-biased- written by the type of people that have turned this country into a shell of its former greatness. A bunch of whiny pseudo intellectuals.

This movie shines a 'spotlight' on the fact there are individuals within organizations (not limited to just the one this movie focuses on) that will use their power and authority in society for their own agenda.
I do not believe organizations are themselves willing participants.
Unfortunately, the bigger problem created comes when others cover up a situation which they were not originally a part of, creating a conspiracy.

Love this film. Best Tall Guy Played by a Short Guy 2015 goes to Mark Ruffalo who played Mike Rezendes in Tom McCarthy's "SPOTLIGHT" (2015).
The cast conveyed this wonderful wideeyed naivety I'd only seen in David Fincher's "ZODIAC" (2007), particularly Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllanhaal)'s resillient investigative reporter, before.
Both of these films conveys the eye opening of our culture to evil previously beyond our experience in a way from which there is no going back.
Waiting to see this!

The trailer makes many of the supposed villains look a lot slimier than they do in the actual film (not complaining, that's just how you cut a good trailer), like Billy Crudup's lawyer character. His response to Keaton's "two stories" jab is an amazing turning point in the film that I did not see coming.

This scares me for two reasons.
1) I have children
2) As a Catholic It's too overwhelming that aristocrats can over power religion as well as the judicial structure in silencing unspeakable acts of indecent molestation on helpless children by practitioners of religious faith.
This is a must see film.
