  • Wanted to try this chainsaw and after watching many TH-cam reviews, decided to take the plunge.
    Not sponsored on this video but I am happy with the results. Was able to quickly cut 19 cookies off this 15" piece of red wet oak. Battery lasted about 20 minutes while doing this.

    GREAT... I am going to get one!
    THAT is the right way to cut wood!
    You had the log elevated. Some of us are running the saw into the ground which causes the chain to get dull.... quick!

      Yes for sure. Keep the chain out of the dirt👍👍 I think you will like this saw.

    I own that saw, it spits chunks. Processed dome pignut hickory and red oak, I have several batteries so I can rotate. I Love This Saw.

    I've been really wanting to try that saw, I think it's a great saw for cutting odds and ends and doing small cleanup jobs. Let me know if it leaks cain oil when it is sitting around.

    Solid red on the battery means it needs to cool down. You probably had multiple cuts worth of charge left. Blinking red means dead.

    • @BobAmarant
      @BobAmarant  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I did let it rest for 5 minutes between cuts 16 and 17 but I'll let it rest longer next time. Thanks for the info! :-)

    Now that's how you make a video. Simple question with a simple answer. Most importantly the flashing "not sponsored by ego" text. I just don't see how people can do a sponsored video and not be influenced. Anyway, I have a single Ego Blower and it works great. Since I already have a battery and charger I was thinking of getting just the tool. Well the tool is only $110 bucks cheaper than the kit with the battery and charger. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Great video.

    Nice review. Do you know if there's a difference in the chain bar thickness between
    the 16" and 18"? I bought the 16" and the bar got bent so easily.

    • @davidbernasconi9445
      @davidbernasconi9445 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The 18 is very different from the 16. It runs at twice the speed of the 16. It also uses a bar and chain from Oregon which should be more sturdy.

    What amp hour battery were you using, 2.5, 4, 5, 7.5? I'm very curious since I need to buy a couple new batteries. Is Bigger always better. Is a 7.5 a/h battery too big for lugging a chainsaw around? I believe that's an almost 7lb. weight addition. There are even a 10 a/h and 12.5 a/h battery now. What's your advice?

    • @BobAmarant
      @BobAmarant  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have both 5 and 7.5, I use then larger one on the weed hacker &, chainsaw and the smaller one on the blower. All three appliances are awesome. Thanks for the question.

    What good is the face shield if you dont use it. You werent cutting above your head and you dont need the hearing protection. So why have it on. Just an observation!

  • @kewlztertc5386

    Get the 7.5ah battery, that way you'll have a spare. I also recommend the fast charger (buy a used one).

    • @kewlztertc5386
      @kewlztertc5386 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@BobAmarant I have 1/2 acre, and it works great. I've not ran out of power yet with the included 7.5ah battery. Did you know there a 10ah?
      I also take my time mowing. But if I did run out, I would just throw it on the charger for 30min, and finish that way. That gray fast charger is really quick, and you don't need to fully charge before use.
      One consideration.
      It's not light, I believe it weighs only a pound or two less than my gas mower. So if you decide to buy one, make sure you get one of the self propelled models.
      And as with any mower, don't forget to heavily wax the underside before first use.
