    Jaxport Cruise Terminal
    Port of Jacksonville, FL
Hello cruising world, Caitlin and Cory here taking a crack at Vlogging.
Drive to Port of Jacksonville - more commonly known as Jaxport Cruise Terminal.
Parking and cabin tour of the Carnival Elation.
What a thrill it was going under the suspension bridge... WOW!
Let us know in the comments if we should do another one?
Thanks for watching, it was fun to make.
    Port of Jacksonville - HISTORY:
English sailors traded ammunition and guns to the French from Fort Caroline
for food and a boat in 1565, the first international commerce recorded in the New World.
Because of this, the port uses the phrase, Jacksonville: America's First Port.
After Cowford was renamed Jacksonville, a petition dated June 15, 1822, was sent to
Secretary of State John Quincy Adams, asking him to designate the city as a port of entry
    for the United States.
    How about that?

Welcome to Jacksonville. I live in Jacksonville. I just sailed the Carnival Elation at the beginning of May. It is so nice just driving across town to get on a Carnival cruise. I love Carnival. I finally reached Platinum. I am so happy that you did a video from Jacksonville. I love the Elation. Looks forward to seeing more videos. 😊

From WPB, it wasn't that bad of a drive. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Our next cruise will be on the Celebration with some more videos.
      Congrats 👏 on turning Platinum.

Sure fooled me, I was expecting Greg and Michele.
Great job, looking forward to more.
One question, how did you know the ship was going to come close to the bridge that everybody went up top to watch? Was there an announcement?

Yes, i believe Caitlin told us they made an announcement about going under the bridge. Pretty cool! The captain has to be a good navigator! 👍

BIG MISTAKE doing the offsite parking across the street. Especially during hurricane or storm season. That lot has in the past flooded. You could come home to an unusable vehicle.

Love your video, I have lived in Jacksonville my entire life and have never once seen the ship at port. Guess my days just dont meet up with their schedule. But it will be lined up when I board October 16 for my honeymoon. Also, where is the best place to stand to watch it go under the bridge??? All of my family wants a video of that. Plus about how long until you pass the military base? My mom lives about 10 minutes from the marina by the base and wants to wave at us as we go by????

Hi if you go to the top deck, very front of the ship, which is where we were and then remember to check out the back by the tailfin. We honestly forgot about the back of the ship and i think that would be a good view to get in video. We think the ship has to leave at low tide to make it under the bridge.
The military base was maybe 5 minutes after passing the bridge. Just make sure your up top for the sailaway party and you wont miss it 😊

Hi, it was about $7 a day off site (down the street) and $17 a day if you want to park at the port.
