Well done. One other interesting thing about the Jax terminal is that the ship goes under the Dames Point bridge on its way in and out. It is really close and pretty neat to be topside when the ship goes under it. I would add that there could be a bit of a wait outdoors because the terminal is small. Expect to spend some time standing. Be prepared if there is rain. Customs is also small and caused a delay once for us. But once you are through customs, getting back on the road is very quick. We are going again in March.
Great! I learned more about cruising from Jacksonville in this video then I ever knew from all the previous online sources! I live in South Carolina and while Charleston is maybe 2 hours closer than JAX port, Charleston is more expensive and it is a hassle in the embarkation. I think we have the energy to drive to JAX instead--less hassle and cheaper cruises. Thanks for the video!
Yes, uber is fine. Just make sure you are not too much earlier than your check in time. Sometimes they will turn you away at the gate if you are very early.
For what it’s worth- I wouldn’t mind music to “fill in” if there was a long period of silence but I would agree that it is distracting while you are talking. Hope this helps!
Thanks great job explaining the Port of Jacksonville...
Thank you
Cruising out of Jacksonville March 2023! This was awesome and so helpful!

I moved to Jacksonville in the spring of 2022. Hitting a cruise is on my list of things to do sooner than later. Thanks for all of the information.

Excellent
Nice video
My husband is there currently picking up a vehicle that he imported from Japan.
I think Uber and Lyft may be cheaper than the shuttle prices.
I was reading about that. Being dropped off is easy but I heard being picked up is the hard part. Does anyone know?
Used to hit that road every week to go to the zoo when I lived there as a kid.
The very last on the Carnival Elation cruise is April 28, 2025.
I would love to be on it.
Do they allow Uber to go past gate and drop us off at customer drop off
Yes, but last time I was there they were checking tickets and times and turning people around if too early.
Can we Uber and be dropped off at Jasper cruise terminal? Will they give Uber drivers a hard time?

@@allgoodontheroad thank you for the quick reply. Another question, our check in time is 11:30. What is too early?
@@storyofny you should be fine anytime after 11.
Is handicap free?
Handicapped parking? Sorry, I do not think it is free.
Great and informative video from what I saw, but that background 'music' was SO annoying I had to give up.
Thanks, I will go back and listen. Was it the choice of music or the volume that you disliked. Would you have preferred silence or natural road noise?

June 2025!
@@Kim-q5dLove that!
