The bass player's tone is heavenly, to match the remarkable playing. The bass-lines are so significant in Gary Numan songs that it is what drew me to playing bass myself. These two albums set my musical world on fire when they came out in my early teens, and I have been a die-hard fan since. Got to see the 'Living Ornaments' tour and the 'Splinter' tour, both here in Vancouver, BC Canada. While waiting in line for the latter show, the others in line were all talking with me, saying that many of them had been waiting the same decades to see him again, like me. Brilliant songwriting, sounds, singing, and performance. Thanks for so much, Gary.
Saw him at Leeds, awesome show! Seriously, 2 hours non stop at 66 years of age with an encore. You don't get that kind of a show with kids half that age. Legend!!
Saw him in Bournemouth on the 30th. Good show. First saw him at Aylesbury Friars in 1979. The good years of Tubeway Army. The heavy industrial drumming now is no match on the finese of Cedric Sharply (RIP)
My mum and stepdad had the pleasure of being at the leeds one too unfortunately I couldn't attend due to being 35 weeks pregnant 😢 for 66 years old the man is a true legend ❤
These just never get old to me. They sounded otherworldly and hairs-up-on-the-back-of-the-neck awesome back in the day, and they still do. Amazing, original music. :-)
@@SimonSanders1 You did a great job recording it..I got a good video of "Are Friends Electric on my channel ! I was in the sweet spot and got great video and AUDIO !
Gary Gary Gary mate your a legend your voice is out of this world and us as listeners are so privileged to here your brilliant music im so honnored to be alive to witness your music thank you so much love from Melbourne Australia cheers from Darren thank you Simon for sharing this.
Thanks Ian, had no idea so many people would appreciate it, although knew I was capturing something quite special. Glad that (so far) it's been left up and not removed.
Brilliant footage, Thank You! I was at the Cardiff gig, The Tramshed. It was packed. I couldn't see a thing. But my 17 year old son was down the front. So pleased he got to experience Numan. He said he was blown away 🤩
What a superb show..the bass player.absolutely amazing Paul would be proud the percussion was perfect..the lead guitar player is awesome what a perfect team..its so beautiful to see Gary in perfect form..Thank you everyone for helping to put Gary back to perfect i realy love you all.
Thanks very much! Genuinely so pleased so many people have enjoyed watching it back. And have to say, so I have I too. And am now exploring and enjoying the original albums again (can't believe I hadn't listened to Replicas for maybe 40 years!)
I know! Am wondering whether had I stood on the other side, I would have had an equally clear guitar mix. Might yet go back for one for the final two gigs in London and find out!
@@SimonSanders1 As great as Tim Muddiman was on bass, this new guy is something else! I was fascinated watching him, even here on this recording. He complements what Steve Harris is doing on lead guitar perfectly too.
Thanks for uploading, enjoyed every damned nano second, just wish Gary had played somewhere I could get to. I don't have words to express what I think about this guy's music and what it means to me, from 1978 til now.
I had a few lager with him after the Bristol gig just like in November last year!!!! He remembered me from last year when I was watching the sound check and mentioned the pub!!!!!
Thank you for this - so many fan videos tend to be great to watch but make Gary sound as though he's singing through a sockful of sand☹️. This one, by comparison, is only a few steps down from an official recording so thank you so much, for those of us not able to get to see him live now this is a real treat xxx
Thank you so much for sharing this! I had tickets to see Gary last night but I've got suspected whooping cough and so sadly had to miss him. But now I can watch his set from my bed! 🙂🖤
Was lucky to catch twice this tour; Sheffield and Leeds. I've never been one for being star struck until this man walked on stage. If you've got EUPD it's an unbelievable ride ;)
Love the incredible effort he puts into his shows, but also AMAZED that (bearing in mind, he claims that DOWN IN THE PARK is one of his personal all time favourites, he goes & FORGETS THE WORDS !!!!!
That Bass !! Its sounds awesome. you dont hear that prominent at the back. I dont usually listen to fan vids but this is listenable, Cracking effort holding that pose the whole gig
It's not the hour and a half holding the phone during the gig that's the problem, it's the hour and a half spent trying to unclench my grip afterward! 😆
Thanks for this. I went to Manchester, but struggled to film much (couple of clips on my channel) due to the sea of phones and my location. Seems front row is the way to go. Great job, nice to have a full show in great quality from the tour and up close too. Appreciated. Subscribed.

Cedric and Paul in the early days were fabulous, Gary was blessed with with them two behind him. RIP chaps.
Saw him at Leeds, awesome show! Seriously, 2 hours non stop at 66 years of age with an encore. You don't get that kind of a show with kids half that age. Legend!!

I was 9 when PP album was released I thought he was from another universe 😊
I hope he's doing a live album of this tour, because these tracks are definately updated.
Would love a DVD of it too!
Words to describe this man ? Genius? Legend? He inspired the synth pop era of the late 70s and then bands like Nin later on - Gary a phenom
Love how the recording is close to the BASS GUITAR monitor so it really stand out in the mix!
My thoughts exactly. When I saw the Pleasure Principle set in California last month the whole time I wanted to hear the bass a little clearer.
My thoughts exactly 💯
He played in California!? I don't see any USA tour dates!? WTF!? Please fill me in... @@nekcric
Purely by chance, I had a choice, stand left or right. I guess I chose right in choosing right!
@@SimonSanders1 You did a great job recording it..I got a good video of "Are Friends Electric on my channel ! I was in the sweet spot and got great video and AUDIO !
I so wish he would take this show to the US. This is the dream show.
Gary looks so amazing and he's still got it - loved listening to these tracks
Love the bass on Replicas and Films. RIP Paul Gardner

Hard to believe (and slightly scary) that Pleasure Principal was released 45 years ago! I still have my vinyl lp.
Omg it takes an audience recording to finally hear the bass guitar in a GN live mix!
Thanks for sharing, awesome work filming the show. ❤
Thanks Ian, had no idea so many people would appreciate it, although knew I was capturing something quite special. Glad that (so far) it's been left up and not removed.
Thank You very much for the upload. Long time Numanoid here. Met him after a show in Sacramento years back. A gentlemen indeed. Cheers!

66 and amazing. He'll go to 100 I hope! NUMAN IS!! Thanks for recording this. I missed Brum as I am ill. Couldn#t sell the ticket either. Pah! NUMAN!
This is one the best full gig recording I have ever seen , absolute perfection, great job simon

Paul, you are seriously welcome! It's lovely to know people are enjoying it.
The "cleric look" is pretty cool

Saw him in Liverpool on the 4th. Absolutely awesome, loved Steve's antics on stage. A trip down memory lane
Me too. Hadn't seen him since '93. I'd say he was about 30 years better.
Was an awesome concert, as ever, thanks for sharing
You're very welcome. It's part of the fun reading all the comments after (especially when positive!)
Thank you so much for this Simon! Saw him with my son at Bournemouth 02, totally amazing!!
Excellent upload Simon, glad you managed to see him. Manchester gig on Friday was so much better than I anticipated 🙌🏻
Birmingham last Friday, brilliant show 👌
Tim slaying that bass 🤘🏻

Great work getting this for us fans. Its great to see Gary so happy. It makes him an even better performer. The dream is to, one day, see him myself.
This is a great show. I like the guitar men in what looks like the old army jacket's of world war 2.
I wish I was able to dance like Newman did.
Saw him in Cardiff a couple of nights later, one of the best gigs I've ever seen...
My thoughts exactly for his Norwich gig. .brilliant :)
WOW!!!
GRACIAS !!!

Best bass playing i have ever seen, take a bow that man.

Great gig, fantastic venue.
... is 'Metal' not the most under-appreciated precursor of music to come? ... just a divine show from a much worthy showman

Great video Simon . I just watched him in Manchester . Video coming soon but had to get out of the mosh pit after an hour - it was so hot and air-less

This was something from the future in 1979 .
GENIUS LEGEND ❤
ONE OF THE BEST BAND YOU CAN EVER SEE LIVE!
Saw him 3 times on this tour and it was stunning. Took me back to a 15 year old lad, I’m now 60.
GREAT CONCERT LOVE GARY NUMAN RIP PAUL GARDNER ❤❤
Awesome recording Simon
Genius. Genius. Genius. ❤
Every day Gary and his friends play better✨
The sound from the bass guitar is very cool! Gary Numen remember a littlebit David Bowie (RIP)
Hope he release,s a live albumn of this tour.❤
Absolutely brilliant gig, totally agree with all the comments about the bass playing, you don’t normally experience this on many live performances! 🖤
I hope I look that good in my 60s. This guy is phenomenal
Pinhead was great!
Super sound - way better than the house sound at Birmingham UK. I thought Tim had forgotten to switch his amp on at that show.
WOW. Nothing else to say really. Just WOW
Brilliant bass work!!.
