Poch's 1st season at Chelsea had many similarities with 1st year at Tottenham. After his1st season at Spurs he got rid of 23 players and brought in 6 or 7, with 3 being Son, Trippier, & Alderweireld. What Poch had in plan for what Chelsea could've done... we'll never know, and if Chelsea would improve and return as Top4 contenders? Whoever they hire will be under almost unattainable expectations, and looking at managers they've gone through, there is so many questions and issues to be addressed!
The issue with Ivan Toney is they don't like his character, I would've loved Ivan Toney when I felt we needed a focal point in our team. Since then we've realized that our issues were more related to build up more than anything and bringing in a number 9 would probably just make things worse, Arteta made a few tactical changes to Saka, removed inverted wingbacks and moved Havertz to striker and we've been the best team in the league/Europe in 2024 because of it.
Also Arteta has repeatedly said he doesn't want a number 9. You look at Havertz who's got the physicality and finishing of a number 9 but the technical ability and passing of a midfielder. That for me is the perfect profile, won't break goal records but will score a solid 10-20 goals a league season with 10+ assists. For me the priority is improving goals in other areas of the pitch.
Also it's definitely not about not liking arrogant players with Toney because we have arrogant players but it's about respect, every one of those Arsenal players respect Arteta
