    Thanks for the video, I am getting ready to attempt to build one myself. You did a beautiful job, (mine won't be nearly as nice. I had a couple suggestions, but you had already figured it out before the end of the video. One making it somewhat taller not to bottom out before the log is split, and the second welding a spreader to help split the wood. I had considered a cross blade, but I think I will stick with a single blade with a splitter wing instead. Again, great job. Mine won't be as nice, but hopefully it will work. -dave

    the ring around the top is a safety feature, right? so nobody trips and falls and gets reverse guillotined

      I go one step further and leave a full water jug sitting on top. My wife worried about that exact scenario 😆😆

    Nice . But should have made it taller so the wood doesn't bottom out . But all of those splitters are the same .

      I agree. I wanted to use rebar that I had around so the height was determined by the length of the piece. It should definitely be taller.
