honestly kurapika dialogue in this episode is one of my favorite in all anime. despite being against one remorseless homicidal monster like Uvogin despite being against one of the members of the "spider" that he hate so much all those years the act of killing still something so repugnant to kurapika, i never saw again such deep depiction of a gentle soul pushed into revenge.
the remorseless homicidal monster you're talking about was once a kid a bit bully to his friends but he's loyal and respectful especially to chrollo and their group was a victim to such another remorseless homicidal monsters that come to their place basically they're created not born as a villain😢❤
I don’t like people focusing on the “coldness” in general. My favourite part of the episode was Kurapika asking Uvogin if he felt any remorse at all for the people he’s killed. I like that he’s the type of person to ask that.
I don’t know if this would be considered a spoiler, as it’s never explicitly stated in the show, but Kurapikas “Emperor Time” is very very dangerous. Because Nen is a power based around using your own life energy, the amount of energy Kurapika uses in “Emperor Time” is so much that it basically in like only 5 minutes has taken off years of his life span. Like it’s very …. 🫤
It’s a spoiler because the conditions aren’t further explained till post anime. It’s only explained in the manga. But it’s not the worth spoiler in the world
Remember kurapika only set that chain jail to capture the phantom troupe, with mean he can use the other ability freely to other non-phantom, that would made him become one of the strongest
the payback to use emperor time is HUGE though, even if they never realy specify it in the anime but for every hour of use of emperor time, Kurapika sacrifices 150 days of his life expectancy, (it also take a lot of effor out of him to maintain he red eyes, as we saw he falls from exhaustion at the end of this arc wit a big fiever)
Without spoiling ET doesn't actually turn Kurapika into Avatar State Aang. It basically makes him the strongest version of his current self in overly reductive terms.
Here’s how I understand it: Kurapika is Aang, but he’s Aang in a universe where every bender can bend a different element at different power levels. A waterbender can bend air at 70% power. Airbenders can still bend earth at 15% power, etc. But Aang is an airbender who can bend all at 100% power (not mastery) when he enters the Avatar State. That’s Kurapika.
The thing with the spider condition for his heart only apply for the chain jail (nullifying someone aura and paralysed him) and the others chains and emperor time can be used on anyone
@@Green-3c34y65vrbuthis is so randomly edgy lol. Kurapika is kind hearted, and Uvogin was a merciless killer. That man is definitely going to hell in a just world. Not sure why you want to root for the troupe, reminds me of Griffith fans.
@@Hylean_Way that's such a nothing criticism of my feelings towards the fictional drawings. you say this as if the author wrote the Spiders intending you to hate them for being horrible people, as if this applies to a collection of lines and words and hypothetical actions. it's more 'edgy' to insult someone for caring for a character, lol.
@@Green-3c34y65vrbu I’m not even criticizing your belief in the way you are suggesting, it’s just that it comes across cringey to ME when you’re speaking about Uvogin in some romantic and loving way, when Kurapika is a much bigger sweetheart and deserves peace of mind in both this and his after-life. Your love of Uvogin and the troupe has an edgy and dark element, whitewashing villains but not fully owning that. BTW you aren’t “supposed” to feel no sympathy for Kurapika either, but that’s not how I’m talking about it. I’m just trying to describe how I feel about people that have no sympathy for Kurapika, but do for the troupe. It’s kinda twisted. I think Kurapika in general is a character that the more emphatic you are, the more you will like. In fact, empathy is probably his main appeal since he isn’t “traditionally” likeable like the troupe is. I’m sure Togashi made it that way on purpose. And I do think Togashi is in a way more flippant to people who think that as well, have you read the manga past the anime by any chance?
@@Hylean_Way you imply you know how I feel about Kurapika, when your entire argument relies on assumptions. of course I feel sympathy for Kurapika. however, this doesn't mean I have to feel empathy for him. I'm not a particularly empathetic person, which is merely a feature of my person. the idea that I'm whitewashing the Spider into holy figures of sorts is too, an assumption. i'm highly aware they've committed immoral acts beyond comprehension thanks to how vast these crimes against humanity are. there's no logical reason for why I empathize with the Spider more than Kurapika, it's just what my gut feels. and, yes, I have read the manga. my favourite manga-only characters are Hinrigh and Fugetsu. Bill is lovely too, but he doesn't compare to Hinrigh or Fugetsu. Morena and Tserriednich are incredibly interesting individuals, and I'm so incredibly interested to see how these forces who are all driven on by this cycle of being horrible to one another which created almost all of them. Tserriednich is of course the exception, but I'm sure you understand the links between these parties that make them so engaging to me and when they eventually clash. especially now that Hisoka has a pass to the first deck. the way that the Spiders created Kurapika, while the Kurta (in my personal theory) created the Spider, with the main branch of the Kakin Royal Family that shunned Morena, but helped a disgusting man like Tserriednich reach a lavish life with no pain. and now, Hisoka, who has killed Spiders, is being hunted by the Spiders, while Tserriednich has purchased the Kurta eyes, and even Pairo's disembodied head.. i'm loving the central message that pain inflicted upon another will never bring happiness, and that war is a pointless endeavour for all involved. it's a great extension of the Chimera Ant Arc, and I can't wait to see how the conflict between Morena, Kurapika, the Spider, Hisoka and Tserriednich is resolved. I can't even begin to guess who will win the Succession War, either. hell, Pariston, Beyond, Ging and the Zodiacs haven't even gotten involved yet, and so much is going on! it's absolutely thrilling.
HxH pacing and length make more sense for doubles, Kaguya each episode is packed with non stop fast paced jokes story telling etc. Plus it's under 40 episodes unlike HxH which is 140+😅

Kurapika bringing a shovel to his fight with Uvo is the coldest thing in the entire anime.
I thought he made it, he is a Conjurer type after all
@@user-ng2du9jl2hno rember kurpikas master said during his training that conjuering something normal you can buy like a sword etc is pointless.
depends i guess.

If I remember correctly 5 minutes would cost him 300 days, so not quite a year but still a very high price every time his eyes change.

personally, i'm in the belief that Uvo and Shalnark were in love. this makes Uvo's parting with this world all the more morose.
