Highly recommend the agarro front and barzo rear for your epic race. I run those in 2.6 on my short travel in the pnw. Appreciate your insights and exploration of vittoria tires. Ive thought they're lovely and have sets for multiple bikes. Ive also never had issues with trail and enduro casings at 230#s :).
@@aaronblonden6774 thanks for the tip. I have ran a barzo out back before but I think i prefer the mezcal tread pattern. The intermediate knobs are more deeply siped and flexible
Agarro front for me is a bit on/off. I prefer it at the back. Right now I am running Mazza 2.4 f/Agarro 2.4r, both trail casings. They are great for long rides and not so heavy. However lately I have been going to more trailparks and where I am I need a little more grip at the back. my new setup will be more "All-Mountain/Enduro" with a Mazza 2.6 F and a Martello 2.4 R, both trail casings. They are heavier but the Martello should roll quick enough. If I ever want to do an enduro race, I will consider the Mazza 2.6 F and Mostra 2.4 R but in the enduro or enduro race casing.
You couldn’t carry a tube and co2 for a race just so you can finish? Unfortunately most super xc race tires are this way. But I hear the vittoria tire liners make a huge difference. I’m going to install some in my mezcal/peyote set up for little sugar.
@@tarpontime7562 I could/do, but I would rather just not flat at all. On a training day, I really didn't want to risk being way out in the bush and potentially pinching the tube 10 mi from my truck. On race day I can get out to a road and probably get picked up

Great info, thank you! Love the trail Mazza with a trail mezcal or barzo on my Spur.
@@CHIEFSFAN1969 that would be a fun combo

Roll a 2.6 Agarro out back. It's good!
Ahsaygee? Thats some regional speak shit for sure. Good review.

How did you your 2024 BT Epic race go? I didn't make it up this year.
