Tried the Mezcal (R) Barzo (F) combo last year. SOLD! So good!!! I may get the new lighter versions, and just go Mezcal f&r. If anyone reading wants more grip in the front, the Barzo hits way above its billed "xc" weight for grip.
@@EMTBReview That is how much I run with Vittoria lite inserts. Without inserts 20psi front 22.5psi rear. Butt naked I'm 140lbs. and always use the lite casings of what ever brand. After lots of experimenting and destroying lots of tires 20f/22.5r no insert is as low as I can go with lite casings or will pinch flat. SantaTeressa is my test bed for tire pressure and suspension setup.
Old habits die hard! I also do this, but it came from getting flats in tubes, and needing a reference point to check for the offending puncture material left in the tire. Now that all(sane) riders are tubeless, who cares!!! Aesthetics, I know. 😆
Wow. I didn’t expect this to be such a thorough and well done review! Great job. Good tire reviews are hard to find.
Much appreciated!
I always respect your take and reviews Francis. Keep your content coming. I’m watching them
I appreciate that

Great comment, yes. Yes, these tires do grip above their weight class.
Wow, more surprising than the tires is that you’re 58 years young! Keep it up pards 🙌🏾
I like this, feels like your t/w a buddy about tires at the end of ride.
I’m thinking about running the Mezcal 2.6 on my EXe. I’m running Maxxis Recons now. I’ve always used light tires with good success.
You should these are better than Rekons
Ok, thanks!
Great video! I’m very interested in these.
You should! A little pricey but it's a compelling tire
When GMBN started using Vitoria tires I tried a set of mazza's and it's my standard now
Those weights are really good for a 2.4 and 60 TPI casing. How's the durability so far?
Love your videos! What PSIs work best?
22 rear, and 20 front works best for me at 150 lbs of weight.
Thank you for the review. Do you run a liner in the front wheel, or only the back? I am a bit worried about sidewall durability.
I have not run a liner in the front tire, mostly because they only gave me one liner. Because it’s so light I would use it in the front as well.
Thanks for the reply! BTW, I've got the same bike, but with fox fork/shocks. I really enjoy it.
What is the casing width of the Peyote on 30mm rims at 25psi?
You should try the Barzo in the front with the Mezcal rear. Unless you're on wet rock, it's a great combination
Great suggestion!!!!!
I like the Mezcals, seem faster than the Rekon Race's I had before...
Yes ! Less sketchy too!
What pressures are you running?
I'm running 20 psi in the rear and 18 in front.

Please remount the tires and align the valve stem

Hold my beer, it’s coming next year
