2024 UPMAS Outstanding Researcher Award: Dr. MA. STEPHANIE FAY SAMADAN CAGAYAN

The 2024 UPMAS Outstanding Researcher Award is given to Dr. Ma. Stephanie Fay Samadan-Cagayan (Class 1993) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to research that advanced the science of Obstetrics and Gynecology, particularly on trophoblastic diseases through more than 40 scientific articles. In recognition of her achievements, Dr Samadan-Cagayan received numerous awards including the Philippine Obstetrical And Gynecological Society (POGS) Constantino P. Manahan Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2008, the National Academy of Science and Technology Outstanding Young Scientist Award 2009 and the 2023 Gawad Chancellor Award for Research from UP Manila. Dr. Samadan-Cagayan is also an exemplary educator and leader as Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at UPCM, where she is also the Assistant Chair for Academics. She also serves as the Vice Chief and Research Coordinator of the Trophoblastic Disease Section of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in PGH.
