Hey guys! I hope y'all enjoy the video. I've been having a lot of trouble uploading without the audio quality diminishing. This is the best I could do but hopefully those bad audio moments don't ruin the video too much for you. Love each and every one of you!!
I never knew how old the story actually was until watching this video. The original story was a bit dark. But ALL of the Disney princess movies were sugar coating the very dark stories they originated from.
Can we talk about the fact that you work really hard for your videos, like the way you did so many research, also, I love this! You're amazing as ever!
ilysm! You post AMAZING theory’s that make sense! ❤ and every time u post it makes wanna click on it!❤ keep up the great work! Let’s all appreciate that!❤❤
In the Persian epic The Shahnameh, or “The Book of Kings” from the year 1000 CE, the book tells the origin stories of all of the men who would someday become royalty. In ancient Persia, two lovers used a tower as a secret hiding place. They were forbidden from being together, because they came from enemy countries, like Romeo and Juliet. The young woman, Rúdábeh, was very beautiful. She had very long and shiny black hair. She would run-up to the tower and drop her hair out of the window while she waited for her lover, a famous king and warrior named Zál. According to legend, he shone like silver, so some artists depict him with a head of premature silver hair.
The fact that Rúdábeh dropped her locks out of the window may have just been a signal to let Zál know that she was already in the tower waiting for him. Of course, the story was elaborated to say that her hair was so long, Zál could have used it as a rope to climb up and sneak into her bedroom. Thankfully, he brought his own rope, so there was no need to do that. Just like the Grimm Brothers version of Rapunzel, their passionate lovemaking ends up with Rúdábeh getting pregnant out of wedlock. To make matters worse, Rúdábeh was the daughter of a leader in Babylonia, and Zál was a Persian war hero.
Excellent video! I do enjoy watching all your videos. Your work really hard!!!! Knowing a thing or two about the subject of this video, I can say with no hesitation that your research is very good, very good indeed. Above all, you rightly link Saint Barbara to the Rapunzel/Petrocinella tale.. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people commenting on the Rapunzel tale, so often in connection with Disney's 'Tangled', completely miss the blatant connection to Saint Barbara. This martyrs' tale just resonated with a lot of young Europeans starting in the tenth century, and continued throughout the high middle ages. As people told and retold this legend the father diminished and a more conventional guardian (fairy, ogress, etc) took his place (I guess it just hurt too much to think of a father beheading his own daughter) , and then, again out of the collective unconcious, the idea of the innocent, virtuous, isolated girl having extraordinary long hair became part of the story. When one does due diligence in their research, this linkage of Barbara and the Rapunzel story is quite evident. Excellent job! Two simple caveats: 1. is there any reason to avoid saying the name 'Jesus'? You seem to go out of your way to avoid saying this name in this video. 2. You accurately note that the legend of Barbara says that she had workmen cut an additional window in her tower, a third window. The legend says it was a symbol of The Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. You say Trinity of Life, something I've never heard referenced and would be hard pressed to precisely define. You seem to go out of your way to avoid referencing Christian 'stuff', in this case a theological/philosophical concept of ancient standing. There's nothing offensive about this, it's simply fact; at least it's part of the Barbara legend. All you're doing is relating the basic facts of this legend and how it links to Rapunzel. It's the legend. Period. I see no need to avoid saying what is factually true. Like I said, small stuff. Your hard work shows in these videos. Please keep up the good work!
It doesent explain the tower situation in both the movie and saint barbara but my theory is that mother gothel saw the reflection of barbara torchered in the flower and saw the past but also saw the future and it showed baby rapunzel with the healing hair mother gothel tried another way (by cutting rapunzel's hair) but failed and listened to the flower's advice but didnt torcher her but instead raised rapunzel as her own child (i hope you like this theory)
What if Barbra and rupunzel are related what if the sun drop power was pasted on through generations which would also mean that the moon drop would also past down from generations and that's how Cassandra and rupunzel are sun drop and moon drops
May you do a theory/theories on Cars? It’s one of if not one of my favorite movie series apart go when I was like… 3 years old! Could you also do some on Planes? Love the content❤️❤️❤️❤️
The church at HMS Excellent (also known as Whale Island) Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, the former Gunnery School of the Royal Navy, is called St. Barbara's. From 'Britain's Glorious Navy':
The one thing that I have always been wondering ever since I watched the movie was, why did Eugene say that it was the story of how he died? Well, he almost died but he was clearly alive at the end of the movie.
Wow this stuff's got real can you do the same thing you did from this video but with Frozen like we're did the story come from like you did with the Tangled about Saint Barbara ?
Wither and decay, set this spirit free,I don't know the rest of this spell. Btw the spell comes from Rapunzel tangled adventure season 2 in the last 2 episodes(it basically kills)
Wow that is so real I did not hear that his father do like that like who did that for a God I mean now some people don't believe God but they never do this like killing people that just like psychopath and her father is one
Im currently animating the creation of these drops, my animation shows the first ever solar eclipse happening which drops the sundrop from the sun and the moonstone from the moon. ( their inner cores )
Actually just to give you a note tangle takes place in the 19th century in the 1830s. Also if this were to be a song it would probably go like this. We have a Theory 🎶 we think it’s magic frommm.. From st. Barbra🎶
What if they were doing a ceremony of from the heavens To Create the moonstone and the sunstone But then the ceremony had failed and they are drop down from heavens to earth which made the ceremony not work But the moonstone And the sunstone we're still somewhere out there In the sun don't gave a miracle but the moon's don't give a nightmare like Death💀💀💀💀💀

before tangled came out, i had been reading the original story
I grew up with that story. It was - and still is - my favourite story
I don't see anything going against this theory. It's actually a good one, that's been properly researched. Nice job.
You always put so much time into your videos. I think you deserve more subs

I've been thinking of rewatching Cars!! I haven't seen it in a long time. Once I rewatch all the movies, I'll definitely try to do a video on that.
I knew the Barbara story in religion class , but I never knew it was inspired for Rapunzel still creepy though

The one thing that I have always been wondering ever since I watched the movie was, why did Eugene say that it was the story of how he died? Well, he almost died but he was clearly alive at the end of the movie.
