HANS Device vs Hybrid Sport - Review | Pros & Cons + In Car Demonstration | (Season 8 Episode 4)

- I have used both of these for 2-3 years each and wanted to share my experience for each device for things you may want to consider before buying. Both have their pros and cons, but it really comes down to your situation and preference.

The only HANS rated to use with a 3 point/OE belt is the Simpson Hybrid S. They are ~$1200...Hybrid Sport is not ok with a 3 point. The Hyrbrid Sport must be used with a 4/5/6 point harness. Check Simpson's site where it outlines this. It's a common misconception that the Hybrid Sport works with a 3-point but it's not rated for it.
Came here to say this. This inaccurate advice could really get someone hurt.
Hybrid Sport is not rated for 3 point belts, only the Hybrid S.

Which one would you recommend for high speed airstrip attack events like the Texas Mile? As you probably know, the speeds are pretty ridiculous and if something goes wrong, it goes wrong spectacularly.
This is an older video, but just curious as to where you got the rings for your helmet for the hybrid
It comes with the Hans devices
That head restriction of the hybrid is a big concern. I don't drift but I'm often looking outside driver and passenger windows to locate the apex.
Is there any (safe-ish) way to loosen those lateral restrictions up a bit?
There is a little bit that it allows you to loosen up but still feels restrictive. Also the more you loosen it, the less lateral impact protection.
Wich one do you recomend for endurance races with a 1.8 L engine? And no protection in the sides of the seat. And also for a biginner in this category?

But if you absolutely need side protection and don’t have it on the seats, then you’ll need the Hybrid Sport.
btw, whats the seatbelt anchor feature? its listed on HANS website.

The hybrid sport is not for 3 point harness. Only the hybrid s is. PLEASE consult a professional before racing. Don't lose your head because this guy doesn't know what he is holding.
