One of the things I find extremely educational and informative is watching footage of magicians performing, like your wedding performance here. Paul Gordon has shared some similar footage. It's great watching how you deal with potentially difficult spectators. I'd love to see more 'performance' footage.
Very entertaining, diverse video Craig; many thanks for your efforts. 👍 Appearing the Morning after the Honeymoon certainly took some chops! Having been a Stag Comic for years (working with female strippers) I could certainly tell quite a few funny stories.....albeit perhaps not within a TH-cam comments channel. Looking forward to the interview with Paul Gordon. Similar to your (excellent) version, Paul's Birthday Book is a Real World Worker that I've used for many years - same effect BUT it doesn't rely upon a stacked/mem'd deck.
Great performance example of what can happen at a gig. You handled it so well and in spite of your selected helper, you still blew their minds. Good show!
Happy birthday Craig! I laughed so hard during the segment about the day after the wedding. So incredibly funny and awkward! Great wedding performance! I feel that when people are acting slightly difficult or things are crazy, it really helps with the misdirection, people are focused on what other people are doing/saying as well as the trick itself. And with a flurry of crazy magical moments like those, people don’t even know what hit them.
Happy birthday Craig. Hope you’ve had a good day. Quick tip with the cross cut force-there’s no need to say “let’s mark the cut.” It just draws attention to it. Just pick up the half and put it on the other half without saying anything. Works an absolute treat. Thanks again for the fun content
That was a difficult crowd. You'd learn more working for people like that than you ever would reading a thousand books on audience management or card tricks. Performing a trick that relies heavily on misdirection was gutsy. Well done.
more bizarre stories please. I love hearing them. would like to hear other magicians strange stories too. itvcould be a fun regular segment. `and thanks for everything you're doing on the channel
Whats the difference between this and Bob Ostin version of the bulldog clip from the 60's or thereabouts. It looks exactly the same. Eiteene even mentioned Bob in his talk magic interview about it.
Could you do a video on more of your bizarre gigs? Horror gigs? Best gigs ever? Yes I have a horror gig story which still haunts me to this day. I’m not a kids magician, and I was booked to be a kids magician to 10 kids. I told the bookers that I’m definitely in no way good for kids so I gave them the details to other kids magicians I know who are extremely good at it. They said to me “oh but you have to start somewhere” I told them that I’m not a kids magician and tried and tried to persuade them to book a better magician for the kids. They didn’t go with the advice and still booked me, even tho I told them not every magician performs for kids. So I went. One of the kids was rude, the others had no interest at all. Had no kids tricks, no kids routines etc. It was 40 minutes of emotional torture. The tricks I had on me they didn’t understand. I was then told I will do the same tomorrow, I thought “oh god, have I died on gone to hell?” They didn’t want me back the next day (thank god). After the gig finished, because it was in a house I accidentally walked into the toilet when someone was in their doing their business. As if the day can’t get worse. Furthermore one of the magicians I tried to give the gig to (who is a really good kids magician) didn’t want to do it and said “oh you got to start somewhere” Till this day it haunts me. So I had absolutely no choice to do this gig.

When your 11 and haven’t had a gig before. But still loving Craig’s channel.
Happy Birthday Craig 🥳!! The bride and groom story had me geekin 🤣🤣👌
Great performance. Knowing your audience is key. Tom was a happy drunk and took your ribbing in a good way..he was also appreciative of the magic.
Great episode Craig - and I’m really looking forward to the Paul Gordon interview.
You did well Craig. That guy was hammered lol

I’m afraid I can’t help with that Andy. I’m not familiar with Bob Ostin’s version. It might be something you want to take up with Etienne directly
Ha that day after gig sounds brutal! Can't say I can top that. Hope I never do!

Also I even mentioned to the clients that I probably won’t do the gig but they took no nonsense and always said “oh but you have to start somewhere”
