@@aleqleem I don’t think they will at this point or round of watches. Maybe if this microled turns out to be a hit, potentially I can see them doing it for Tactix 9 / Fenix 9. I can see it getting phased out over time.
I own a Tactix 7 Pro Ballistics. I'm a heavy user: at least 1h of running every day. In addition to strength training, biking, open water swimming, etc. With this watch I never had "range anxiety". I can easily go for an Ultra Run for 20hrs with navigation and even Live Tracking and it will never give up un me - only my phone need charging :). The watch is a beast. Would I switch to a Tactix 8? Only when it comes with a microLED and even more battery life. There is nothing else missing...
@@Sozialkompetenz I believe you meant continue and yes I love the watch. Thanks for the comment and at this point marginal gain which makes it easier to save some money and not upgrade if needed.
My guess its late November or December. If Garmin follows the same 2 year 4 months refresh cycle, it'll be December. The Fenix followed this schedule and released recently. The Tactix also had a AMOLED release in 2023. Each year, 1 new model. 22 release, 23 AMOLED to keep it "fresh", 24 new model.
@@ckwilliams2440 I almost got it but went with the pro. If lived closer to a range or friends that have one vs where I live (sadly) I definitely would have got it.
I’ve had the Fenix 8 for sometime and certainly has its issues to the point where I would not recommend it however the UI is definitely better than the seven series. I’m also sceptical of how they’re going to keep the bezel. It’s already very narrow and very hard to read versus the Delta and Charlie versions so if it loses it’s 24-hour basil and it’s unusable it will lose its character entirely.
@@KristianDowling thanks for the comment and I love my T7 as I said. The 8 honestly is a little underwhelming but we will see when it releases if I will feel differently. As usually Garmin does updates which fixes most issues. Glad to hear the UI is better as I get it makes sense for the future. Have a good night.
Thanks for joining me today and exploring the Tactix 8. I am waiting to see what it has to offer. How about you?
I hope they don't give up on the MIP display , a military tactical watch with an AMOLED display doesn't make sense.

I did notice recently that Garmin is slashing prices on the Tactics 7. So, there is that. I'm sure the 8 is right around the corner.
@@ishgumi44 yes for sure and I think q1. I am personally doubtful it will be this year but hopefully I am wrong.
The battery life on the tactix 7 pro is something I have never worried, it’d be nice for that to discontinue. Great video 👍

Interesting, so you're still having issues with the fenix 8 despite the updates? I thought they'd solved those initial problems?
@@tomb2289 I don’t have F8 and kept my Tactix 7 Pro for the time being. I heard they did fix some of the growing pains for F8 purchasers
