Fun fact: A Huusk commercial was played while watching this video ;-). In this, they showed different people chopping kitchen stuff while boasting about the knife. And they even didn't use their own knife for this! They literally just used footage of random (satin-finished) Santoku and chef's knives for demonstration ...
Yes, the Explorer! I haven't seen another TH-camr pick that as their top SAK, but it's my favorite. You don't know how much you need a hand lens until you've got one. My father was always a Tinker fan, and that was the first knife he got me. I gave my daughter an Explorer.
Thanks for the honest review on the Z-hunter. I've been on the fence for a while because of this Shabazza guy who is always talking about how great it is. I prefer to get my reviews from a actual reviewer. Cheers Mate.
How dare you not include **insert my favorite knife here** in your list!? In all seriousness, I like this format. Quick and to the point and you got me to look up a couple knives I had not heard of before. Might be good to make this one-minute-summary a once-a-year thing!
Love your videos Pete. Always learn something. I have given away so many knives I can't count them all. Every one of my Kershaws have new homes. I made like 16 knives out of files, leaf springs, flatbars etc. And gave them all away....didn't even save myself one. Everyone who got one was and is happy with them. My payment is their smiles. Just tell them to use 'em. I am down to 5 knives...My Kephart, Buck 110 50th anniv., Recon 1-S35VN, Steel Will Apostate S35VN and my 1964 Western Bowie. I carry the Recon-1 everyday. Oh and I carry a Leatherman Wave.....so I can't seem to get any collection going...anyways, great video Brother.
Definitely a cool collection. My first knife was also a bear grylles knife. The slightly bigger orange and grey lockback. Broke it batonning through a log which I used to think was normal use for a small folder like that hahaha
Hi Pete, great video showing us your folders. Most wouldn't be able to keep to the minute per knife. Saw a lot of knives from "the shelf". Look forward to your fixed blade version. ATB from the crazy U.S.
I was torn between listening to you talk about knives and wanting to join Ada and sing you the sing of her people. Can't wait for the fixed blades!!! Stay well, Pete.
I’ll tell you what, I’m a huge knife fan and have become a supporter of the two sun knives. The reason being , is his amazingly competitive prices and his reliable and outstanding fit and finish and sharpness anout of the box for an impressively high quality knife. In his defense. He specialized in using d2. Which has always been great but has added s90v m390 and other steels recently. The more knives you buy from him the more impressed you’ll be. That’s just how or goes
Funny how the cheapo knives are the ones that stick around the collection the longest and gain sentimental value since they're just not worth selling. Also your knives have some wonderful patinas, the Police in particular is magnificent. I don't want to be one of those "you gotta use your knives" people but use really adds character and turns a mass produced object into a one of a kind. Drawers full of shiny immaculate knives is much less interesting although it's understandable from a monetary/resale perspective.
In reply to Grey Holm. I agree with your opinions, mate. But I too am guilty of leaving some of my knives in storage so to speak. However, I have carried most of my folders as users at some point. Some of my fixed blades are waiting patiently for me to head bush again though. My Opinels all get used except for the 'collection' ones. And my Civivi, even though it's arguably one of the cheapest folders in my collection, lives wrapped in its cleaning cloth and inside its furry pouch (he said furry pouch) 90% of the time. I think because it's the first knife I ever ordered from the US, so it's kinda special for me. Weird hey?
My first 'decent' knife after finding the internet was awesome for knives was a SOG Flash. When i was a lot younger, pre internet i still had a nice swing guard folder made in Solingen, Opinels, Victorinox, Buck110 etc.
Someone has probably already said it, but the little clip on the Razel is removable. Mine came with a standard pocket clip installed, and the little clip in a plastic bag.
Holy moly, the gerber scout folder was my first folder! My dad now carries it and refuses to let me upgrade him. I guess that's some sort of positive review for the knife, it's still kicking and an old man loves it.
I have a WE 604 that also had some vertical play, I guess it's a common issue. Didn't feel like sending it in so I fixed it by disassembling, removing the lock insert and adding a few layers of aluminum tape to it before reassembling. Something to consider if you don't mind taking it apart to fix it.
I agree with your choices. I just got in the rsk ritter g2. Such a good knife, heat treat seems to be really good, and man is it super sharp out of the box! (For those that don't know, its basically an improved/tweaked Benchmade freek)
Have you had a chance to look at a Quietcarry Waypoint? I’ve been carrying one for ~6 months and really enjoy the thumbstud deployment, hollow grind and compactness.
“Now let’s talk about great budget knives!” Me: well boys time to bust back out the buck 110! Also, I never owned a para frame. I’m happy. The WE Banter is just a high end Dozier, prove me wrong.
Great video, thanks! The new Quiet Carry Drift is out (next drop later this week?). They ditched the hole for thumbstuds and fixed the detent. Made in Taiwan I believe. Really love mine.
Hope you get a chance to look at the QC Drift. They never fixed the disclosure issue about where they're made, but this knife has amazing action, insane grind, it's awesome.
Have you tried out the spyderco gayle Bradley 2? I finally fixed the detent on mine and I love it. Hands down my favorite overall. Super thin ground m4.
I’ve spent some real money on knives.. mostly spydercos as I live near the factory in golden but I’ve got CRK and ZT in the pile as well. What do I carry? A sanrenmu 710 that I spent $7 on.. why? Because I don’t care what happens to it.. I don’t think twice about handing it to anyone, don’t worry about losing it, have sharpened it with sandpaper, ect. Been in my pocket for five+ years. Ok I’ll admit that it’s no longer my primary Edc, displaced by a small sebenza, but it does still live in a jacket pocket as a rougher task/loaner knife.
I don't have the Super Freek, but the regular Freek is one of my favorites. It's just not for jeans because the polymer handles are too grippy. Also the little hump on the handle annoys me, but the ergonomics are amazing overall.
Thanks for the video, cool to see what you're priorities are for knaffs and some good ol' Aus content! Also good to know it's not just my Pilar sitting and rusting like a demon aye! I believe Quiet Carry have said their knives are made in Taiwan, pretty sure Shabazz and Slicey have confirmed but I could be wrong. Waypoint is amazing regardless.
Nice collection! How do you add new knives to your collection? Is there like a wish list or it’s pretty much spontaneous? No Lionsteel in your folder lineup yet.. 👀
Hey Pete, have you sharpened the WE 604? I have another WE knife with a similar grind on it ( array ) and am not ... quite sure how to sharpen it with the KME. :(
You need to add a case knife to your collection. Now that’s a good knife made in the U.S.A. If you don’t know what to get then get a bone handled trapper or stockmen, Case peanuts are also very popular if you wanted to look at them.
Awesome video dude, I love the idea of this, I may do a similar video on my channel or do a series out of it by knife company or in the tier you do lol like start with shit knives and work my way up hahaha love the channel brother
Love big knives. If my Praetorian Ti wasn’t worth $1,500+ (🇨🇦) it would be a perfect truck knife. I also edc the Explorer. And the Benchmade 943 in the other pocket. 😎🤘🏻
Proelia and Defcon are the same company. Sort of like Zero Tolerance and Kershaw or WE and Civivi. Proelia and Defcon come out of Chino, California. Their parent company has some mission about bringing Eastern products (like katanas and such) to the West (US).
I just couldn't get into the Super Freek or Spydiechef. Just weren't for me. Great video as usual Pete. Its nice seeing a lot of knives I have in common and a lot of different ones as well.
The Rambler or Manager is the best keychain knife, or the Midnight Manager Or the Cold Steel micro Recon Hey I've got that Proelia, it's a strange nice knife and I agree entirely. I took the clip off mine and it feels much nicer in hand, I'd probably try to get a lighter backspacer if I was going to carry it. And the clip is pretty shallow and really tight so I just said to hell with it
POV: you’re lost on a tropical island and have been invited into a shed by an Australian who wants to tell you about his knives
Why have you not received 20 likes??

Definitely a to the point no filler video with just a shit ton of knives. So thanks for a peek at your knife carrying and buying Journey.
When I held the TRM Atom my exact words were " This is terrible, I hate it, I'm having a bad day"
Yes, the Explorer! I haven't seen another TH-camr pick that as their top SAK, but it's my favorite. You don't know how much you need a hand lens until you've got one. My father was always a Tinker fan, and that was the first knife he got me. I gave my daughter an Explorer.
Thanks for a much needed respite from the insanity here in the US right now. I miss just thinking about knives lol
yeah for real, luckily the worst should be behind us (i hope)
No joke, this was welcomed and much appreciated. I live in Georgia and you can cut the tension with a knife even just walking into a gas station.
@@OGMoose-rm7vz Big thanks to Georgia for coming up with the goods.
@@archivist17 no joke!
Amen brother

Only good thing he does is the disassembling videos.
Nick is joking
@@tristonevanko5726 I know and so am I.
@@HammerSmashedFace92 yeah, I want to see how the knife performs and someone just sitting there talking about it is a shitty review in my opinion.
Yeah that shebazinga person has no idea what he's talking about.
So much knowledge in
It's good to see you putting out videos again. I could listen to you talk about a wet paper bag and still enjoy it.
Did I hear wet paper bag? Man I sure do love me some wet paper bag videos.... the wet paper bag just does not get enough love that it deserves
Great collection Pete, and love your personality good luck on all your projects at the new property
Definitely do your fixed-blade collection.
Great video! The 1 minute per knife limitation works very well.
How dare you not include **insert my favorite knife here** in your list!?

That curved opinel is a great knife. I use mine in the garden and around the yard constantly.

Is it weird to say how good the image looks? Good light and crispy sharp! Big stepup!

Aah, up and running again great to see a knife video from oz I'v been missing those.👍🏻
Please do exactly the same video but for your fixed blades!
Second this motion.
Gerber gartor..for my first knife 🔪 before flippers were the thing...witch is like the buck 110 to my generation....
For what it's worth that's the knife that Bear Grylls started his TV career with as well.
The Atom is my best slicer and the Freek has great ergonomics.
Crazy rapid fire 💥💥- killer collection - congrats on the move
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
Much love from Switzerland

“Is the buck 110 a traditional”? You just threw a match into the gasoline that is uncle randy!!
110 is the most copied blade in the world
Both the gerber bg and parafram are beautiful, historic and very sought after.
My first 'decent' knife after finding the internet was awesome for knives was a SOG Flash.
When i was a lot younger, pre internet i still had a nice swing guard folder made in Solingen, Opinels, Victorinox, Buck110 etc.
That gerber was my first knife too!

It looks like a Gerber US1 which a current, made-in-the-USA model.
Thanks for your thoughts. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the benchmade 940, I’d be interested in your comments. Keep up the good work
The sounds in the background kept tripping me out 😂
G’day Pete, just fyi, I would have bought probably 3 of these via affiliate links if you had them. Great vid.
Fantastic video! Love the 1 minute per knife thing. Nice assortment.
Gerber Paraframe was also 100% the first branded knife I bought. I’ve had 250 or so in and out of my collection that I keep at around 125.

Hey??? Why aren’t you doing your review in the haunted Knife Dungeon?... I mean new Knife Lab?
@PaleBlueDot Nonsense. Lighting and audio quality are no where near as important as a vague sense of dread.

yep, the 99 farmer lock is fantastic!
I agree with your choices. I just got in the rsk ritter g2. Such a good knife, heat treat seems to be really good, and man is it super sharp out of the box! (For those that don't know, its basically an improved/tweaked Benchmade freek)
Kudos on the red Sandrin!
I have the Atom and just got the Nerd for my B-Day love em both :))
Haha when you whipped out the paraframe the first thing I thought before you said it yourself was “hey my first knife!”
I bought the same gerber bear grylls knife when i was younger, the handle snapped on one side.
Have you had a chance to look at a Quietcarry Waypoint? I’ve been carrying one for ~6 months and really enjoy the thumbstud deployment, hollow grind and compactness.
I have the two sun free tiger. An love it. It flips better than some of or most of my knives exspensive too!
i love this format rapid fire review yes fixed blades please
My favorite Spyderco is the PM3 lightweight. The steel appears to be okay.
Uncle Randy approves of the Buck collection , I am unsure of how he feels about the rest, perhaps he needs to review the half breed ?
“Now let’s talk about great budget knives!”
Me: well boys time to bust back out the buck 110!
Also, I never owned a para frame. I’m happy.
The WE Banter is just a high end Dozier, prove me wrong.
Digging the dyi blackwash on the spydercos. Any videos on how you do that?
Great video Cedric - Can't wait to see a similar one on your fixed blades :)
The rustic gent is an awesome looking little knife. I would love it if civivi did a run in S35vn like the elementum.
The hollow grind is so thin & slicey. As a bonus, it's one-hand open & closeable, which ya don't see much in backlocks sans thumbstud/spydiehole.
Great video, thanks! The new Quiet Carry Drift is out (next drop later this week?). They ditched the hole for thumbstuds and fixed the detent. Made in Taiwan I believe. Really love mine.
LOVE YOUR REVIEWS. KEEP 'EM COMING.
That bush folder😍😍😍

This guy: "Yes."
My favorite blade right now is the TRM Neutron 2
*When you realise you have roughly twice as many knives as Pete, maybe it's time to take action*
Can't wait for the email about my atom preorder. 😅
I have one of those proelia knives. Got it for super cheap. It's not a bad knife at all. I just dont carry it much.

Awesome video and awesome collection
Nick's going to be pissed that you said that about the z hunter.
I was going to say the same thing! Lol
''Poor'' Nick!🤣
We all know that the z hunter is the cream of the crop when it comes to folders
G10 blades are my favorite 10:50
Nice collection! How do you add new knives to your collection? Is there like a wish list or it’s pretty much spontaneous? No Lionsteel in your folder lineup yet.. 👀
New camera? Video quality is great!
BTW that "dark wash" looks good on your Spyderco Police. Forgot to put that in my original comment.
I know cold steel and Medford make huge knives, but that large bush folder is crazy. It really looks like it should be a fixed blade lol
It’s actually the smaller version of a fixed blade design
Hey Pete, have you sharpened the WE 604? I have another WE knife with a similar grind on it ( array ) and am not ... quite sure how to sharpen it with the KME. :(
Mad to see the new vids bud.

The Bantam and the Dozier designs look very similar to me. Similar not the same.

Great content as always. Keep it up
What model number is the GEC I’ve been on the hunt for that exact configuration
Nobody ever:
Pete: "I love the Police."
check out the steel will gekko, it replaced my super freek for my most often carried
Would love to see the civivi damascus in the knife lab.
OMG GENIUS VIDEO IDEA
Trm is like 3 towns over from me. I was thinking about going there and bribing an employee to get me some knives!
I dont know if I missed a video, but how did you black wash the delica. I would like to do mine the same. Thank you.
The paraframe was my first "real" knife when I was 14 ahaha
The Rambler or Manager is the best keychain knife, or the Midnight Manager
