- Here’s our kubota m5-111 rolling some hay up with our John Deere 450e net wrap baler. This baler will make up to a 4x5 bale. For an economy baler we are plenty pleased with its performance. Of course you always want something bigger and better but this baler is worth the money. Thanks for watching! See you next time.
I have a JD 450E which we bought back in 2020. I think you hit all the fine points of the baler. We had a New Holland 654 prior to buying this one, which was a twine tie and this JD 450E is net wrap. We make ours 58" instead of 60". Good job on the video, thanks for sharing and I hope you have a nice day!
@@Dan-qy1rg thank you! I hope you enjoy your jd 450e as much as we do. We had a Vermeer rebel before this one and had nothing but troubles out of it. This 450e is a Cadillac compared to the Vermeer! Thanks for the comment, hope your day is great as well!
@@MidMoFarmer Our NH 654 did okay, some hitches in it, but we also had a few issues with the 450E. End of the first year, the collar came off the pto and severed the com. cord, which we did have replaced through the insurance. The net wrap had wrapped around the rubber roller so much that it caused the alignment on the knife to go out, which was my fault for not powdering it like you said. That was a real pain, but we had that fixed too. Good luck to you.
@@Dan-qy1rg I think if you are baling hay you are going to have issues! There’s a piece that has like a broom on it almost. Just below the rubber roller. That piece can come off. Make sure and clean all the old hay out behind it because it will scratch the steel roller underneath the rubber roller! That’s been our only issue so far. And I broke a shear bolt once from a stick!
Good video 👍
Thank you!
Overall how do y’all like this baler?
We really like the baler for the money. We baled around 700 bales with it last year. I wouldn’t want to do much more than that with it. Just because of the speed limitations with it. Have about 1200 bales on it and have had only one issue with the baler and the net wrap busting. But it was due to hay stuck in between where it cuts the net wrap and the roller. But that’s it. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate buying it again.
