  • In this video we show off our new John Deere baler. Our tractor isn’t new so we have to take it easy. On the way out Emily films a muskrat with some cow parsnip in the lake. You also get a fairly in depth walk around with the cows while she waters them.

    Those are the best tractors ever built I believe. Then they made the mistake to sell out to newholland . We had a 7610 and a 7710 when I was growing up and I loved those tractors

    Baler makes a nice bale. Didn't realize that John Deere made a baler that size. Good to know. Nice job.

    On the right side of the tractor down by the foot pedal there is knobs to adjust hydraulic pressure, adjust that pressure it will allow the baler tailgate to open faster.

    nice job! i have a jd 457 round bale that i pull with a 2001 new holland tn65 or a 1969 john deere diesel 4000...my baler also has the bale ramp 'flippers' that were not fast kicking out the bales, there is a hydraulic valve adjustment on the baler to make it go faster and i put a couple 1/4" turns to increase the pressure and now it kicks out faster and i don't have to pull forward to close the gate....best wishes from western new york

    The wheels on the side of the swath only work if you set them down so they turn on the ground

    • @Peavine
      @Peavine  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I forgot to put them all the way down in this video. I didn’t miss any hay since the rake made the swath tall and narrow.

    Hey there, the reason your right side hydraulics don’t work is because there are to levers on the side of were they plug in that are facing up, if you push them to the down position they will work, in order to properly unplug the hydraulics you depress them even further, when they are upwards as they are now it will cut the flow, the left hand side has no levers that cut oil flow, somone has taken them, they should be there but are not.

      Thanks, I’ll try that valve and see if it makes a difference. The tractor is still running so we’ll see how it does this haying season.

    I have a 6610 pulling a Vermeer 504R. We have problems with the windrow getting clogged up on the drawbar and it causes a lot of headaches. I'm guessing smaller rear tires were placed somewhere along the way. What size rear tires do you have on your 6610 and does it seem to set too low?

    • @Peavine
      @Peavine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fronts are 2.4-24 and the rears are 16.9-34. We haven’t had a problem with the windrows getting clogged yet. But we’ll see what happens this year.

    Shouldn't run the baler with the door open

    • @Peavine
      @Peavine  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The newer John Deeres have a clutch system that lets you keep the pto going while you dump a bale.

    that bale ramp STINKS. you should NOT have to pull ahead to close the gate.

    • @Peavine
      @Peavine  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking it had to do with how weak the rear hydraulics are on the tractor. The lift gate takes forever to open on the baler with that tractor. A little momentum might help the bale ramp. But I don’t know, I’d have to use a different tractor to see a difference.
