Most people that say they are not for daily or highway driving have never ran them and are repeating internet myths. My JK with 14" ORIs on tons and 40s has been driven all over the country and it is AWESOME on the road and AWESOME on the trails.
That's the truth! We unfortunately get a lot of that on a multitude of off-road products, People love to bag on stuff and majority have little to no experience wit the product they are bashing.
@@Spoolmaster Currently running 140psi in my lowers. I started with 120psi in the lowers, which was nice but wanted to try a little more and see how I like it. So far so good around town and on the highway. I haven't taken it off-road with the 140 pressure yet so not sure how much a difference I'll see there. My upper pressures are all different and I don't keep track of those as much as they change based on what ride height I'm trying to achieve, My goal with the upper pressures is to have the Jeep sit level on all 4 corners.
I have them on my crawler with reservoirs and level -it on both axles ...they do fine on the highway, but their street manners isn't the problem on a daily it's the fact that you're entire ride height is hanging on a set of seals if they go you are on the bumps maybe if it's a mild leak you can fill it up and get it home but alot of people who ask the question about daily on struts don't even own a 20lb tank and fill kit or carry extra high pressure Schrader valves . So yeah they will ride just fine on the street and highway but reliability isn't the same as riding on a set of springs which isn't an issue on dedicated off-road rigs but it could be if you're 100 miles from home in your daily driver .
Great video! Everything I needed it to know about ORI struts. Could have used some of that clearance on some of the tough Colorado trails around Grand Junction.
Maybe you can try to run less nitrogen in the bottom chamber, and just use sway bars. Maybe that will get rid of that pogo feeling. I’m getting ready to install 16s on my LJ this week. I will try that, and let you know how it works.

Have you run their 'Level-It' kit? Really seems like that puts the ORI setup up another level above everything. High end coil overs may have an advantage if you're building a high speed baja style race truck. However, for daily driving to standard offroading the ORI seems to be a clear winner in ride, simplicity, and function.
The piggy back and remote reservoir options can both offer dampening adjustments. I believe the clicker has 24 positions. They also have a remote reservoir w/o the dampening adjustments (that's what I have on mine). I would definitely recommend a piggy back or one of their reservoirs if mounting on a Jeep or vehicle in that weigh range. They help soften the ride and provide more oil capacity.
So you haven’t had any issues with heat? I remember hearing that ORIs were more geared towards lighter buggies. Just curious. I’d love to get a set on my LJ but I’m afraid I might not like them and be stuck with the investment as I live overseas and would pay even more for international shipping. Nice Video, I've been running a set of 14's on my Suzuki Samurai for a couple years, both on and off road and I've been trying to find a balance between control on road and not compressing my spine off road. I'm curious if my valving may need adjusted for a 3000lb rig, what are your thoughts?
Thank you. That’s a great question and probably better suited for the team over at Jensen Bros. They should be able to steer you in the right direction for getting your set up dialed. Sounds like you could use some revalving. My suspension was designed and built around my ORI’s so all my brackets are set for me to be in that sweet spot of chrome showing on the shaft, which gives mine a great ride in and off road. But id definitely reach out to Jensen Bros and see what they say
I was running 40's when I filmed this video but currently on 42's. We built the suspension knowing that I'd be switching to 42's when they were released.
They could be done on a JT, I just haven’t seen anyone make a tower for the rear that works with an ORI. They definitely work better on a lighter vehicle setup
I have 2021 Willys same color. I love it but man it's a rough rider. What's the number one thing i could do to make it ride better. Has a 2 inch lift and 22 x 35 Nitto mud grappler. I just put Bilstein 5100 around it Didn't help
22” wheels with 35” Tires is going be a pretty low profile tire which would definitely create a rough ride as you can’t really drop the tire pressure to absorb some of the road conditions. Spring and shock combo really make a difference as well. Depending on what springs you have you might want to try a spring that is known to provide a smooth ride like the EVO Mfg plush ride coils or the Rock Crawler coils. I’ve run the Bilstein 5100’s with the stock Krawler springs back when I first built my JK and it rode really nice.

I haven't run their level-it kit. It looks pretty sweet though. I use the Powertank Shock boss and soon will have their new dual fill kit.

How did you determine the length you needed for the Ori?
I had been running 14" coil overs prior to the ORI's so I knew that shock length was a good fit for the JL platform.
Why did you say no JTs? For towing or payload or something? I wanna try these on my diesel
They could be done on a JT, I just haven’t seen anyone make a tower for the rear that works with an ORI. They definitely work better on a lighter vehicle setup
