It's painfully obvious you've never been to Seattle or played any of these courses.
Never. But will soon. Cheers
Whats your top 5
Best public courses in Washington; Chambers, Gold Mountain, Gamble Sands, White Horse, Prospector, Rope Rider, Salish Cliffs. Within 30 minutes of DT Seattle, selection much more limited. Probably West Seattle, Echo Falls, Newcastle, Harbor Point and Maplewood. Plenty of great Country Clubs near Seattle, but not many Public ones. All the excellent public courses are 45 minutes to 1.5 hours outside of Seattle and Gamble a few hours away.
Jefferson Park and West Seattle have both hosted USGA Public Links Championships, but a long time ago. They're municipal courses so they get a lot of play. Jefferson Park used to be a lot harder course, but they recently took one of the toughest and longest par 4's and converted it to a mid length par 3, and took the toughest par 3 and made it into a very short par 3. Jefferson Park is now very short, 5900 from the blues, and West Seattle is 6400 from the blues (also has black tees), but they hold their own every year against the city's best amateurs in the Seattle Amateur.
Newcastle and Washington National are part of the Oki group. Scott Oki is a former top Microsoft employee who became an instant multi millionaire when Microsoft went public. He went on a buying spree and now had 10 courses in his golf empire. AFAIK, he sold his company to an investment? group, but still has some management role. They have various player cards that can save a player a nice chunk of change since they also include golf carts in the packages.
Chambers Bay is famous for hosting a recent US Open but it's south of Tacoma which is the 3rd biggest city in Washington. I guess that's close enough to Seattle for a national audience.
Whats ur top 5 in order
If you're playing West Seattle, I hope you like valleys. The whole back nine is just up and down hills and valleys. Very exhausting.
Outside of the metro area, Druids Glen is a great course and much more affordable than Washington National or Newcastle.
Whats ur top 5
You missed a couple of great tracks. Gold Mountain, the Home Course, and Trophy Lake are fantastic places to play as well. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks what ur top 5
Gold Mountain, Home Course and Trophy Lake are not in Seattle or the Seattle Metro area
Don’t forget about the best 9 hole course in the state, tapps island golfcourse! Located on a private island on the middle of a lake!!
Jefferson is a decent course.
West, or should I say WET Seattle is also an OK course. (West Seattle and Jefferson are BOTH city courses. Not county.)
Newcastle... Overrated. Nice, but not worth the price.
Washington National is my favorite course by far!!!!!
Chambers Bay... Unique. Again, over rated and not worth the price.
You left off Gold Mountain, Druids Glen, Kayak Point, and The Classic.
It is obvious you have not visited these courses. Especially when you get the names wrong.
East coast based, but promise you I will visit
This list is wrong. Best public courses in Washington; Chambers, Gold Mountain, Gamble Sands, White Horse, Prospector, Rope Rider, Salish Cliffs. @@parfessor Are you redacted? I literally just gave you the top 5 public in the State and separately near Seattle? Are you auto-replying?
@@KemperFi13 is it in that order? You listed just listed them.
@@parfessor I forgot Willows Run. No particular order. Newcastle is the best if money is not an issue but per other comments, at $200+ round, not a good value. All the other Seattle courses listed are under $100 round
Robert Trent Jones died in 2000 so it would been very hard from him to do any design work in 2007!
You have a jr and senior
Wow you picked two premier courses and two Oki courses. Washington nation isn’t in the top 100 in the state. There are so many more course near Seattle that are better than the first 3 you named. Chambers bay is good. But if your driving that’s an hour away from Seattle
My man, have you golfed Washington National? Aside from it being the UW Huskies home course, it’s a good golf course.
@@miaspence6492 I have golfed it many times. When Oki bought the course the huskies moved. That is not their home course. By the way. If you know anything about Oki run courses is that they do not take of them. You should do your research first.
It’s Chambers Bay NOT Chambers PARK…do your research before you broadcast…FACTS MATTER!!!!!
