  • In this video I will first walk you through the assembly and setup of the Two Trees TTS-55 laser cutter and engraver. This is a great beginner or entry level machine due to the cost vs capabilities balance. I will also demonstrate some examples of cutting and engraving and help you get started with this machine using the LaserGRBL software.
    As with most of my setup and review videos, I show some of the upgrades and modifications that I design after having used the Two Trees TTS-55 for a period of time.
    The most effective and important upgrade in this case is the smoke and fume extraction adapter. You can find that adapter on my website here:

    Downloaded the Alignment tool files, sent to a mate with 3D printer. Luckily had him print two sets as my laser head has Air Assist nozzle attached and it hits side of bracket preventing head to align correctly. Will have to use hacksaw to cut out large portion of wall to allow for air assist fitting

Not sure what all i can take off just yet or if i can position some way to make it work. Still a great looking product!

    Nice 3d printed fixture, you'd make a good tool and die maker. Its funny to think no more then 10 yrs ago we had all manual machines, fast forward to today and we are well on our way to making star trek type tech a real thing. All these 3d printers, lasers, arduino, esp32 and rasp pi micro controllers make it possible to build just about anything your heart desires. Its good to see people using tech to create, build and expand their skills and minds instead of litterly melting their brain cells on social media

    Thank you for the video tutorial. I used it to assemble a TTS-10 which is very similar. You saved me a lot of grief in several important steps. One additional question if I may, I find the legs on my TTS-10 are just steel blades that slide around on the work surface easily. Did you find a solution to that for the model you tested? I know the legs are different than mine but I just wondered how much the sliding around might have been a problem for you. Thank you and excellent video! Much appreciated - Jerry

I cannot manage to turn on the laser...try everything...turn on laser button, update firmware, everything, but don't work...the laser is good because when I move one axis fast he turns on because of the energy of the movement...already add the laser engraver from the files, try also the GRBL-M3, but nothing works

      What is the difference between the air assist that the fumes extractor? I will be doing some work on metal and wood indoors, would you say that fume extraction is preferably for fumes or air assist? 21:15

    • @design8studio
      @design8studio 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-vy5oi1ot3j The air assist blows air (from a compressor, which in this case is included in the kit) onto the work as it's being cut, right in the area where the laser hits, which helps to prevent fire (flare ups) and helps to remove debris from the cut, etc. Fumes extractor sucks the smoke and fumes away from the work to prevent them from building up in the room!

    • @design8studio
      @design8studio 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-vy5oi1ot3j Air assist and fumes extractor serve two different purposes, and I would consider both as needful. I am planning to build an enclosure for mine, as that helps the fume extraction process greatly. Even if the fume extraction process is absent, an enclosure confines the smoke and fumes inside the enclosure. The waiting time before you can open the enclosure is short with good extraction, and can be long without it.

    I like the system but I have put an Neje E40 on it, it's more heavy and then you will see that it's not aligning in 90 degrees, had to make a small workaround. I find the carriage on the X-axis quit wobbly, there is quite some play in it. Maybe I will upgrade the X-Axis with a 2040 profile and ad a motorized Z-axis. In general I think for a lot of people this would be awesome to start with.

    Hi, nice video. I've had my TTS-55 for one week and am having great fun with it. I noticed you had trouble cutting with it. I have no problems at all cutting 3mm basswood and 3mm poplar, but I haven't tried MDF. I use 90% power, 500mm/m and two passes, works perfectly. Were you in line mode there? (I'm using LightBurn BTW.) I'm interested in that silicone mat, is it just a regular craft mat? Amazon isn't available where I am, I can get silicone crafting mats from my local online suppliers. Would that be adequate?

    Hi, As per everyone else's comments, I thoroughly enjoyed your informative video and purchased your alignment tool in preparation of my TTS-55 arriving. Having now assembled it all, including the air-assist, I find that the air-assist collides with the alignment tool, can you recommend/suggest anything I can do to remedy this? or is it that I just use the alignment tool to position the workpiece and then remove it on each occasion? Thanks.

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comment :) As this was created before the air assist was available for this machine the alignment tool may collide as you suggested. Yes, for now the resolution would be to just slide the tool in place, align your workpiece, and then slide it out of the way. The tool mounts to the extrusion using the t-nuts so you wouldn't even have to completely remove it - you can just loosen those screws. Then you should be able to just align your piece enough in the +y axis direction so that you can slide the tool towards the front of the machine (-y direction) for clearance to the tool head when the job starts.

    No one ever discuss how to install the laser filter. For some reason mine will not attach to the magnet. I am missing aomething?? Please advice.

      When you say laser filter, are you talking about the orange guard at the bottom of the laser module?

    • @aztecwarrior1421
      @aztecwarrior1421 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmbraceMaking yes , that plastic box that attaches to the bottom of the laser to help protect the eyes.

    • @vidsnixmastree

      @@aztecwarrior1421 Mine came with that guard as an option. There was an orange-colored aluminum piece already attached to the laser which must be removed first, four screws. Then there should be four tiny grubscrews with the plastic guard. These fit into where you removed the screws, and the magnets in the guard connect to those.

    Wish I watched this before setting up.
    The official video was good and all, but swapping the front/back cross bars suuuuucked. xD
    Also, I can't tell 100% if it's just my table being unlevel along the edges, or if I'm off square.
    Dead center of the table and it sits fine, but turn it, or move it slightly and it's wobbly.
    With lack of proper tools, I'm going to assuming it's the table. 🙃

    This company is a joke. Save yourself the time. I ordered a machine and it was supposed to be here in 3-4 days. After 2 weeks and 3 emails I finally heard back and was told to would be 2 more months. I asked for a refund 4 times and they have not responded. I had to reach out to VISA to get a refund. Seriously go elsewhere.

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yikes that's not good. I wonder why such a long delay. I know people generally like to dump on Amazon but at least when I order from them I know they have it in stock. Sorry you had that experience with them

      @The_Engineering_Experience ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmbraceMaking they never gave me a reason. I would bet they sold more than they have and expect people to just wait. But not refunding my money when asked (4 times) is just unacceptable.

    The equipment has a ruler on the x and y axis

    Nice video.. Very interesting, but honestly.. The machine is crap. Buy a 20w and above of you don't want to waste too much time and you want to make the most of your machine..10w is useless for an ordinary person..
