Awsome video. I have a few quick questions. TIA It seems you only updated the HUentry and all of the prereq by selecting it in TAL. If I want to do a full upgrade, since I have not upgraded my car for many years, can I select all in the TAL and upgrade? Do I need to worry about prereq? Or, do I select like you did, and then come back to do the other one by one?
Hi my friend! Thank you so much for the videos, makes very easy to enter in this flash/coding world! Im about to flash my HU to get CarPlay fullscreen in my X1 2020 and you make my life easier with your content! Question: do the readings , savings and calculations (FA, SVT, TAL...) generates any changes whatsoever or not? I was wondering if I can poke around before do the flashing. PS: ill use another car running to charge the battery during the flashing.
The calculations will not make any difference until you actually click the code button, I hope you can get CarPlay full screen, let me know how it goes!
Hey @zeeBMW, first of all you're doing a really good job with these videos. I have one small question, did you lose connectivity to MyBMW app after the coding? I used to be able to read my range (fuel tank level) or see if my car is locked via MyBMW app, seems that after the coding I've lost this function, although I'm still able to send location destination from app to navigation.
Hi mate, thank you for the support! I did not loose MyBMW app functionality, did you use a VIN that is subscribed to connected services? If the cars services have been suspended you will have this issue, try a different VIN with CarPlay compatibility of course
Great video, and I have a question for you or anybody who can help me. I have a 2018 Mini F54, it has an EntryNav2. I tried to activate CarPlay but it didn't work. I think I need to try another VIN. Great video, using the guide to help me fix a corrupted software on a HU_Entry causing a bootloop. Is it possible to just re-flash the same software already on the corrupted module? Hi my friend, thanks for the video! I have a 2024 GR Supra and I should be using J29 S18T PSDZData. After a searching around for a long time, the latest version I could find is 4.28.31, which is quite old. Do I have to get the latest version to be able to code my Supra? Is the older version also compatible with my latest Supra? Thanks!
Hi brother, thank you for watching! I am pretty sure you will need the newer version of PSDZData, half the changeable options will be ‘unbeleget’ as these properties from the new ecus have not been defined or don’t exist in an older version of the PSDZData for your vehicle. I’m not 100% sure though, no harm in reading the VCM to see what comes up as the car is basically a Z4 👍
Yo bro, first of thanks for these tutorials they helped me alot. I recently installed carplay on my f2O lci 2018, now its not stretched but its splitscreen. Can i follow these exact steps to just get the fullscreen or do i need to update other ID-bases. thanks
Didn’t know that, thanks for the update. Interestingly my hybrid battery was significantly drained after the istep update, although it was reporting the percentage as a few percent lower than before maybe due to the kombi reset the actual value it decreased to was like 20%
Hey. One thing that I dont fully understand is the VCM Update - you updated only 3 ECU's and it changed the whole I-Step when you read it out? What about the rest of the ECU's being on the old I-step? That's also one thing I read about in many tutorials, that they recommend to tick off the checkbox in the options that says something about Updating VCM after Tal execution. Could you please explain? Also what would I do if I want to update the whole car? Should I do every ECU on it's own, like only these that have prereq. or all at once? Thank you very much!
You are very much correct in saying how the whole I step is changed if only a small portion of the ecus are updated. In this case if a personal was to do tal execution again it will show that the ecu firmware is actually older than the I step listed on let’s say the dme. This will show more firmware versions it will need to flash to get it up to date if that makes sense, essentially updating to the latest I step if you want it done. Regarding that checkbox I haven’t noticed anything but a small dialog box appearing after flashing the i steps. I believe it is to just stop that error from showing. You should NEVER just do one ecu on its own you have to do all ecus linked in the prerequisite folder. It’s best if you do all of the ecus at once but have a battery booster connected to the cars battery… The reason why I didn’t do the engine ecu, gearbox and eps update was because it doesn’t add anything. In fact the eps becomes even lighter on lower speeds!
@@zeeBMW I mean flashing prequesities is not always necessary.
