    yezzz, finally.!! ♥
this song is really something special, for the band and also for the fans... it's written for their founding member, guitarist and main writer tom searle (brother of drummer dan searle) who sadly died of cancer five years ago. this song was the first one released after tom passed away.
it's not the whole universe dan has in his hands in the piano ending, but the memories of and the love for his brother...if you could say so.
i've seen architects live shortly after the release of 'holy hell' - their first album after tom's passing - and i've never seen so many people cry at a concert. literally the whole crowd stood in tears when they played 'doomsday' and 'gone with the wind'.
please do 'gone with the wind' at some point...it's the last song tom worked on before he passed away. during the writing process he already knew that he will not gonna make it, therefore it's a really sad and introspective song but also a huge banger.
    RIP tom ♥

This song is about the bands founder, lead writer and guitarist Tom Searle eventually dying of cancer

You should go oldschool Architects and watch These Colours Dont Run. The song and video are even more relevant than when it came out 10 years ago.

This was the first song I heard from them and I agree, Sam’s “scream-singing” is what hooked me from the start. And Royal Beggars IMO has his best vocals and strong emotions as well, almost brings me to tears whenever I hear it

    Thank you for doing this!
After all these years it still gives me shivers down my spine and tears in my eyes.
I remember like it was yesterday, when I was sitting in my office at work and crying my eyes out after hearing this for the first time.
If you want to go "harder" I would recommend literally any song of their album "All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us" which is their best album in my eyes.
    RIP T//S ♥
    Greetings from Germany! 🤘

@@gangstergnock5813They are evolving. Music is about feelings, they will not come back to their old style. Just enjoy Daybreaker, AOGHAU, Holy Hell or Lost Forever Lost Together.

If you listen to the song one more time, you'd notice the ambient guitar sound present from the very beginning. This might be the reason why you felt it being more relaxing despite the riffs. The ambient guitar sound is present throughout the whole album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us composed by their guitarist and twin brother to the drummer Tom Searle. He died from cancer shortly after the album was released and this song was the first single by the band without Tom, which makes it even more special not only to the band members, but to the fanbase as well.
If you'd like to know a bit more about the band, I would advise you watching their short documentary Holy Ghost. Also at the very end of the documentary you'd find a live version of the song Gone With The Wind.

Hey man when you get a chance, check out Crystal Lake either Apollo, Into the Great Beyond, or Watch Me Burn. They are a Japanese metalcore band and are killing it

I also love the fact, that they're referencing the movie "The Fountain" by Darren Arronofsky which is about loosing a loved one and what we are willing to do...

I totally get what you mean around at 8:00
and if you like that kind of sounds, Gone With The Wind would be a good song to react to

Seriously I'm amazed no one has mentioned Hunt The Dinosaur, being a rapper/producer you'll love their song Destructo, or maybe you won't, but at least you'll be amazed

Older Architects is WAY better than their new stuff. True Architects.
If Tom wrote it, its real Architects. If he half wrote it or didn't at all its meh.
