I am a lawyer and a businessman, I work hard but my hard work are made useless by the devastating state of the economy, security, infrastructure and insane high cost of living and doing business. Nigeria chokes you and it was all Caused by bad leadership.
I cry when I think about my future in this country, I have an aging mother who I can barely provide for, her petty business hardly sustains her. I have a younger brother who has been at home for months because of ASUU strike.
there is nothing positive to look up to and this is how it is for hundreds of millions of people in this country. No food, no money no healthcare, no job, no quality education, no infrastructure, no good conditions for business, no security, no hope.
But Peter obi gives people hope that things can actually change for Good. Will Peter obi change nigeria? Nobody knows but he gives people hope to believe again.
What will Atiku who was part of the government that killed this country do for us?
What will an old sick tinubu who is at the pinnacle of the party that gave us the most disastrous government in our democracy do?
But Peter obi is younger, very knowledgeable, eloquent, charismatic,more vibrant, seemingly untainted by corruption and a man of integrity. He gives us hope of a better nigeria, that my future in this country can still be rescued. That my brother will not be useless, that my mum will be happy again, that my country will work for me again.
Nobody knows the future but we have to try. I know some of his supporters are taking things too far but will you blame them? An hungry man is an angry man. They are frustrated and are now intolerant to anyone who appears to be insensitive to their suffering by supporting those who caused the suffering.
It’s not about religion or ethnicity. Just look at datti, Lamido Sanusi. The north had these people and proceeded to give us their worst as leaders.
I won’t blame you for supporting someone else but I ask you to think about your children’s future and ask yourself. Who do I want to entrust their future to?
The one who says “it’s my turn to be president” ?
