That and Rock n Roll were the first I found I believe, completely changed the course of my life lol. I wanted to be a DJ, then I wanted to be a producer, and while I suck at the EDM subgenres I want to make, my knowledge of how to produce has allowed me to work in a studio and do some tracking for people, as well as work in a music shop and do other things like guitar repairs now. All of this could’ve still happened I’m sure, but skrillex got me into that headspace so young and it’s def changed me for the better, and I’m beyond grateful for what he’s done for me and others

Skrillex is the reason why I make music. I wish skrillex’s new music didn’t suck ass, it’s just bass and not even dubstep music. Or music in general, and he only does collabs now, no original awesome stuff. 😢
People who are saying this is not accurate are not taking into context of the fact that original song had other layers that were helping support the main lead in order to make it sound full(supersaws, pads, reverbed hihats). Yes this has a lot more high end than the original lead but that's because Sonny's mixdown of songs in 2011 weren't the best. Most likely he may have went with the rock/metal mixdown mindset where you low pass a lot of your melodic instruments to make room for percussion such as hihats. Also keep in mind the preset was designed to have extra high end so the lead could be used in variously styles and genres.
This song influenced I’d say 75% of its repeat listeners when it came out. If it wasn’t for this song dubstep would be in a totally different place today
