What i've learned from looking at Skrillex's project files... 1. You can never have too many layers (just remember to mix them all correctly) 2. Working on a project for "too long" isn't possible, remind yourself to take breaks and come back to it later. 3. That one sample may have sounded cool in the beginning of the project, but you might find something that fits the track better later.
Gain staging + Distortion layer. Mid side eq. Distortion amount automation. Volume Automation ,panning automation, room fx automation . So it might hit a short period of time but your ears get tricked ✌️

You can clearly see this in the beginning of this track that skrillex probably effortlessly put together that loop. EDM artist are masters of sound design and daws

@@jasonelli bounced tracks would make it load even slower, they make the project easier to play but in turn there is more stuff that needs loading
you can tell we all have evolved as producers because you know just seeing the project file was way more hype than a music video for this song
It's not about the money, the VSTs, the gear, the plugins, or technique. It's about creativity and making the groove hit home. Skrillex doesn't mash techniques and sounds together. He crafts great songs.
Best comment I've read. He does what he does cause he loves what he does! Seen him at Form Arcosanti (AZ) He was suppose to perform from 11-to 1 AM. At 2:30 he said "I'm just gonna keep playin until they kick me off". It was just after 4 AM when an ambulance pulled up with the siren going about a quarter mile away so he figured he better bail otherwise I'm sure we would have seen the sun come up :) EPIC...worth the 20 hour drive for sure
