You may have noticed some of the trends of the year, like the Solo Woman Singing Ballad In White and the Massive Face Projected On Background. That's all because of this.
Totally agreed! I also heard some countries were able to fulfill their stage vision fully because of limitations the stage used. But oh got some acts were just beyong strange. I was really confused by Isreals massive projection of Imri...
could you elaborate more on this and provide more examples? like i know about the obvious woman in a wedding dress (ironically the actual bride wore black) but beyond that did the delegations really clash that much?
This masterpiece got robbed so hardly. Maybe it came across very agressive. The Eurovision fans knew that she is very friendly and that she is very nice but maybe the usual TV viewer thought the other way around. That would be the only explaination for me.

The performance was good, the song was great!! Such a great closure to the semifinal show. The only reasonable explanation for Latvia not advancing last year was probably that most people at home thought it was a safe act definitely going to the final, and ended up voting for another country.
OMG!! I was so sad that Latvia did not qualify! The song was great, it performed last in the SF and like you said, the studio version was amazing and even if the costume is not as appealing to most people, that's no reason to feel intimidated for the act! Maybe the live vocals weren't as great but it was still a great performance!!
Being in the arena, I can tell you that the performance was great, full of energy, we were all jumping like crazy 😂😂😂. As fabulous as it was for the people in the arena, I'm not sure, though, about the people at home... You are right - too busy (including Agnes herself...) and the camera angles weren't particularly good. And by the way, I still listen to the song, it still sounds great
The only thing that I think is that the vocals were maybe a little bit weak. Still, it should have qualified. Juries 1 point only? Robbed, it was a really unique performance trough all the ballads
I love it, it was so colourful, Agnes has charisma, so much better than some other songs from 2017. I often listen to it and I don’t listen to many Eurovision songs after the contest. And I really like the band itself, I fell in love with their single Roza Brille and now I listen to it all day long. One word: ROBBED
Absolutely one of my faves of 2017, love blaring this out in the car. The official video is great... I think where this lost out was that, in an intimate, small club, setting, it would be mind-blowing. On a huge arena stage it just got kinda lost
Underrated. In Latvia we have this one song 'Eiropa mūs nesaprstīs' which means 'Europe will not understand us' ... so this kinda hapened.. they didnt get it .. but club song.. for sure.
oh Triana Park is just an awesome band. Honestly, you should check out Iron Blue or Alive from them. Especially Iron Blue blew me out of the way when I listened to it. I guess I am now in love with this Latvian band.

However, I think she didn't have her night. Actually, Eurovision is the biggest karaoke in the world, so the singers has the responsibility of the show. Maybe her voice wasn't good, maybe it was too indie for the jurys and a big part of the televoters...But the song deserved more. P. D. I'm still waiting for Spain 1961, 1966 or 1967, 1989 and 1991. You have a lot of homework to do ;)

I think, that you absolutely should watch Mikael Saari - On it goes (It’s from Finnish selection from 2016, he got 3rd place). For me, this song miles better than all the ESC songs. So, I strongly recomend you to listen :)

Still on my playlist 🎧 I was so upset it did not qualify, let alone it ended last! 😱😢 To be honest, I think her vocals weren't that great and the backing vocals were even worse. Her outfit was like a Cosplay Fest and, as a final result, they did not manage to get the song through to the viewers (because I'm sure the people in the stadium enjoyed it). And you're right that the video was kind of more artistic/psychedelic with her dreadlocks & fluo lights.

Also, it doesn't showcase a great vocalist or out-of-the-box instrumentals. It has some fresh ideas, but it's quite middle of the road, nothing stands out. The staging is psychedelic/busy, which I don't mind, but what does it have to do with the song? I guess these could be reasons why it didn't do well.

(I belive we were reading Matias Falkone while doing this) I started grasping via internet for some interesting facts, but then I wondered "Does Corsica have a flag?". So I serched and instantly fell in love with it. I redrew it to show it in class with a some inportant information I found about the state. Later on I costumised the flag (recoulored it in karmine red and white)

Music video/studio version has a much better concept. The live version is just shakey, and you can tell the backup singers make it, not the lead singer. It's just executed so badly.
Nooooo. I really didn't like our entry (Slovenian) last year, but I was pleasantly surprised with his performance. Though, the Latvian song was in my top 10 since the start. Incredibly robbed.

Mediocre song and melodically uninteresting in all aspects, overrated by the ESC fandom. The staging and her weird-looking outfit were not visually appealing either. Obvious non-qualifer!

The supernova performance was epic because the camera angles are tight and fast. At Eurovision the camera angles were too slow

Same problem as Poland this year. Production on CD much better than in the live performance including a weak vocal.

I still stand by my opinion that this is not a good song, it's way to hectic while still very flat. It just doesn't sound right to me.
