I don't really understand what you mean by not wanting to end up in Archway. I love it there. It's my favourite place in London. I've lived there for exactly 10 years (although i moved away recently, but I still go there often, my dentist is in archway) and I never had any real problems apart for this one man who is everywhere there who shouts abuse at everyone although you get used to him. Especially if your school is right next his house like mine was. I guess its true that it used to be quite bad (not too bad though)but they have been trying to make it nicer for years now. There is even a market on Saturdays (last time i checked there was anyway). I personally think there are way worse places in London than archway.
I think it used to be a lot rougher. I used to have a friend who lived there around the millennium and I saw a mugging and a few fights. They've done a lot to improve it.
I've taken this route lots of times and i never realised it was a ghost walk. I haven't seen any ghosts there either. (Apart from a strange figure in waterlow park after closing hours i saw through the gate, maybe it was that vampire, it was quite near Highgate cemetery)
Only just seen this video (a year and a half late! Sorry!) but I'm glad to hear that all Cool Dudes Walking Club members are immune from ghosts. Great stuff, I'm off to the castle ruins! 👻🚫
l live in Highgate, love your portray of the scary stories of Highgate, l've caught lots of orb photos at highgate cemetery and pond square, maybe that was the chicken LOL, love your humour in your vids too
I just used the only scary figure by a gate I could find on the internet if I remember rightly. What a cool place to live. I think Waterlow Park is one of the best parks in London.
Hi , my name is Andrew k Sparsholtt, I walked along side of Highgate cemetery London, on Halloween, about midnight, I got to speak to the Highgate phantom, he was waring clothing dating back from the 19th century, this accured in 1991, how I found out he was the Highgate phantom, as he walked off, I turned to look at him, and he disappeared, I didn't hear any foot steps either,
👻😱 couple of things.. At 6:03 spotted a hunchback spectre disappearing to the right INTO the wall😱 ( always thought spectre sounds way scarier than ghost...) And, whilst trying to spot said gruesome ghoul I slowed the playback speed to 0:25 at about 5:50 & that made the whole experience WAY more terrifying. #Soiled
I was also hoping you might've done this walk at night. But then, the chances of a good meal might have diminished. If you get the chance to visit the Cotswolds, the village of Prestbury near Cheltenham is supposed to be one of the most-haunted in the country. I had a bad experience there once... A walk that was supposed to finish at 6pm (in February) went on until 9pm... Through sleet, hail and falling snow. We reached the pub but in the wrong village, three miles from where we had started! An unforgettable experience. Very, very cold.
I was eating a slice of pizza and I had to pause this as I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to choke.. lol I used to live at 7 highgate high street .. in the 70's and went down to the cemetery many many times.. the dobermans on the west side were very friendly.. lol
Send my membership card ta, number 1337 please 😝 I should have commented on these before but I’m a lazy arse and was too scared previously 🤷♂️ I’m ready now 🤨 found a freaky place myself once (remains of a medieval tower which became a mausoleum with the remains a metal coffin that was once lead lined but had been exhumed and a weird shadow person thing appeared on the photo I took, I’ll try to remember to send you it via messenger at some point (genuinely weird as fook)

That sounds terrifying. All the Highgate Vampire stories are fascinating. I think there was even a local football team called the Crouch End Vampires.
Laughed harder than I should have at the comment about nobody wishing to end in Archway...
Watch out. I got trolled by a load of ex-Archway residents for saying that.
@@cdwc Only because they want to keep the value of their shoebox flat up...

The immunity has since expired. Good luck out there...........
Cool Dudes Walking Club Uh oh! I'll take some holy water in my flask with me then

Thank you. Glad you like the videos.
2.30 looks like Whitby to me. I used to own the house next door to St Agustin's Church.

Rewatching.
Fearsome and chilling. But also informative and amusing. I'm very impressed Mr Larwood.
Watching from the protection of my bedroom-I really worry about your safety Marek!!!
I survived this one. I did get lots abuse fromArchway residents though for suggesting it was shit.
As someone who lived in Archway for almost 30 years unfortunately, your description was spot on lmao!
I got a lot of abuse from Archway residents for that comment.

This sounds terrifying. I hope he was polite when he spoke to you.
Happy Hallowe'en, Marek! xxx
joining the cool dude walking community was a right bargain, so many benefits. Sod of ghosts!
I'm pretty sure I saw a ghost driving the black Volo that passed you.

At 2:45 you can clearly see James Acaster pointing to draw attention to the headline

A graveyard at night! Are you mental?
@@cdwc It's well known that ghosts, being white, are easier to spot against dark surroundings. It's either that or a creepy old house at night.

I agree, I've just seen this and it was very funny!
Last podcast on the left just did a detailed episode on the Highgate vampyr. It's good.
I listened to a few of those, but then I found murder podcasts a bit too depressing.
4:48 - Orbs (or lens flare)
I’m having to re watch this since I got distracted the first time round.
Dick Whittington was my woodwork teacher at school. True story.
walking through london at night .... its not the ghosts you worry about.
Petrifying 👍
Surely you should have done this walk at night to maximise the chances of a supernatural encounter?
Walk through Archway at night with a camera out and you're more likely to become a ghost than to see one
Wampyer version please
Dick Whittington 🤣🤣🤣
That is genuinely what he looked like.
I like the other Francis Bacon better.
