And now probably some poor sod walking along those streets will also report having seen "one strange light moving around abandoned Highgate Station" ...

Great video back in 2007 that tunnel was not boarded over you could see through to the otherside when i saw 2 kids wearing 1960s clothes running through the tunnel & disappeared.

As I say in a parallel universe this was a success due to it not being axed due to WW2

Was fortunate enough to explore the tunnels in 2003 when they were open. Still had track in them. How, well my colleagues were showing off getting the new team member into the out of bounds places.

This would of been slightly enjoyable if it wasn't for the annoying repetitive sound effect!

Were the steam train noises at 6:56 actually heard on the night you were there or were they added for effect, like the movie footage of the man standing on the tracks in front of a speeding train?

I'm actually not a 100% sure but I think most likely they were added..

What about the video about "The Screaming Spectre of Farringdon Station"?..

Wow this is fascinating! My Mum grew up in Highgate. We walked all around the area. We experienced a lot of odd occurrences. We also visited Highgate Cemetery which we got locked in! This was before it was cleaned up, and was well overgrown. Is it Highgate Station that has the wooden floor escalators or Archway? I was always afraid the escalator would catch on fire. Now that was one creepy station! Would you know if Dick Whititons cat statue is still on the street? Thank you for taking me down memory lane.. I just subscribed.

Massive thank's for the subscription! I think that lot's of the Highgate area is extremely spooked. I've visited Highgate a lot of times and i can't remember seeing a wooden floor escalator there so it might be that it's at Archway maybe.. I haven't seen the cat statue but I did google it and apparently it's still there. In fact I wasn't even aware of that at all. I've just read the story of Dick
Whittington and his cat and I find it extremely fascinating. That is so cool because I am actually going to buy a cat soon and if I'm lucky, maybe I will also make a fortune with it like Dick.. If there's a scarier version of the story I 'd be happy to make a video about it. I'll have to find out.. Thank's for bringing it up and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you as well!
Wherever that wooden escalator is the station is / was very creepy! I remember going down the escalator with my Mum . The light was flashing ,the station was dark and dingy. We could hear chatter and someone singing. My mother said people would run down there during an air raid. We got down to the platform and there was no one there. Not a soul. We could smell cigarette smoke and hear a kettle whistling. I didn’t think much of it as I just thought the rail workers were on break. Then we heard marching feet and singing, we could see shadows of soldiers on the tile.... the train light flashed and pulled into the station.
Crazy eh? The Cemetery is awesome! 👻 It’s good Dick’s cat is still there... 😸I wonder if the Pub is too? Lol.
      All the best in 2022!🎉🎉

@@ospreyyy1 Obviously that wooden escalator does deserve research too since it sounds so spooky as well 👻... Crazy story yeah but I do love it. Not sure of the pub but I'll need to find out about it too. All the best in 2022 to you too!!!🎊🥂🍾

Some of the equipment looked new-ish, the fans/heat pumps suggest it's still used for something... No way do they date to the 1950s and they look to expensive for intermittent use.

    • @ghostfindergeneral9851
      @ghostfindergeneral9851  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Well, the station hasn't been in use for a very long time (apart from ghosts) I think but regarding the pumps and the other equipment maybe it's still used for something but maybe some of the neighbours might know if that's the case. I might actually try to find that out later..

The yellowing corrugated metal between the platforms is the roof of the underground station below, so the fans and other equipment like the big brick box of a building will be part of its ventilation system.

I worked at Highgate station for seven years. Up until 2011/12 there was an elderly lady living in the station cottage, next to the platform you were on. The equipment you are referring to is part of a water pump.

Jerry Dear, do us all a favour and blow it out your ear’ole - buy the flipping book and stick your negative “advice” where the sun don’t shine. I am one of millions who are hearing impaired and really appreciate the script.
