I don’t know if you guys already know this but Aang’s been a master air bender since before he was frozen along with being one of the youngest. That’s why In the storm episode he’s the only kid with the arrow tattoo’s.
I'm so glad someone else pointed out this detail. Yes, the arrow is a mark of a Master Airbender.
I forgot to mention this earlier, and maybe someone has mentioned it already, but the voice actor for Admiral Zhao is the actor who plays Lucias Malfoy

Dee Bradley Baker does the animal sounds for the show. It's pretty much his calling card.
Really good at what he does. Any time I hear his name I can also hear Eric from BlindWave (reactions) laughing at Eagley in Peacemaker.

Most of the voices, most notably Appa and Momo, were actually done but a guy named Dee Bradley Baker. Most of his voice acting work is creatures, but he also did every single clone trooper in the Star War: The Clone Wars series and other animated Star Wars media.
"D'you think Appa smells like a wet dog?" Maple not only makes the funniest noises, but also has the best insights that nobobdy else has. Maple just embodies Bumi's philosophy flawlessly.

Filoni directed 9 episodes of Book 1. There were other directors but his episodes are some of the best in book 1
The ash from volcanoes can almost be as dangerous as the lava itself.
The ash is similar to the black snow that rained down on the Water Tribe village when the Fire Nation arrived.
Wind can carry ash from volcanoes thousands of miles.
Although there are no firebenders in this episode, the threat is still based on fire itself.

Honestly, his best action scenes are when he's facing something bigger than a human opponent, because he gets to let go and you get to see a bit of his insane airbending
Like remember when he used his breath in episode 2 to escape the fire nation guards on Zuko's ship? Imagine if he had used this kind of airbending, he would have killed both of the guards, smashing one at deadly speed into an iron door, and sending the other one tumbling down the hall, up the stairs, and out into the open air who knows how high. Really makes you realize how much self control he has over his own talent and power

As others have said, Aang's airbending is so powerful because he's a Master. That's what his arrow tattoo signifies. He was given the rank of Master at just 12 years old, making him the youngest airbending master ever. His skill is on par with the temple leaders like Giatso and the others.

Alot of people try to paint the fortune-teller in this episode as the same kind charlatan as "mediums" of the real world, which never makes sense to think in a world where a boy can spend 100 years as a snow globe and come out alive

Well, the Winter Solstice was near the beginning and Sozin’s Comet is coming at the end of Summer, so without spoiling when things end they could age a maximum of about 8 months or so.

No, it's a full 12 months. Aang was defrosted in the Summer of AG 99. After the two parter pilot episode they spent weeks chasing Flying Hog Monkeys & Jumping Llamas. Then they had season 1 Earth Kingdom Shanaggins. Then more weeks between episodes getting to the North Pole. Appa must of been spent. So basically Book 1 takes 4 months. Books 2 & 3 take 8.
@@TheMrPeteChannel There’s no way it was that long between episode 1 and 7. I might buy two months, but there’s no way he was thawed out in August.
@@TheMrPeteChannel in the first episode Sokka jokingly mentioned having midnight sun madness which is a reference to the fact that in the summer on the poles the sun is out 24hrs. Technically we do see it change to night so it's definitely not near the solstice but it can still be summer. However, in the Southern Hemisphere the seasons are opposite to the North so the Spring and Summer in the South would be the Autumn and Winter in the North. So it stands to reason that Aang was unfrozen in what in the North would be considered the Fall and a few weeks later in Episode 6 it's the Winter Solstice. So just under a year.

Also in the last episode Aang mentions that a year ago he was still frozen which implies that however long the show actually is it's less than a full year.
You would be BLIND to think that Meng’s voice is not ROCK solid voice casting. You could say it’s pretty METAL.

"It's too obvious" I know, right? Despite being a multi-shipper myself, I was not rooting for Kataang to be canon end-game for that reason. I much prefer trope subversion and plot twists. Plus they're so young?? Who ends up with their first crush? Not many people... But it is a kids' show, so it could go that direction, who knows? There are lots of powerful benders in the world~

The only Avatar related item I have is a T-shirt from Korra...Raava and Vaatu...which doesn't come up in The Last Airbender, but it is one of my favorite T-shirts ever. It amazes me that grown assed adults are discovering this show and grown assed adults like me get so happy watching people discover it.
I also have shoes depicting Totoro...but the soles have worn out. Still look cool.

If you're wondering how much they physically age over the series, pretty much not at all. I mean it all takes place in one summer. They mentally/emotionally age (or i guess mature would be a better word) by a lot though, for pretty obvious reasons
It's more than just a summer. Episode 6 is the Winter solstice aka the start of Winter. Each book is roughly a full season or 3 months. So it's about 9 months.

If I had been sokka, I would have kept that egg and not for eating. I would have hatched that egg and raised the baby platypusbear as my own loyal friend and used him/her as a mount. A mount that could also fight and maim/kill people.
