Yep, they really nailed it with this one. I don't even think they need to put so much emphasis on the chillis, it's the culture and food that's the interesting part.
Chef Esther's wearing at least a white shirt, if not white shirt and pants, in all of these episodes and never shows a drop of sauce anywhere, mad respect. That's true eating skill.
For a normal person "Latin" America has nothing to do with the Caribbean. One is south america and stuff, the other are some islands and sea and so on. Two different things. So please don`t expect Caribbean food to be represented when looking at "Latin" content.
@@colormelilac it is so amusing since these cultures are so different. For someone from Europe at least, these are two totally different cultures. Sure the Caribbeans were influenced by the Spaniards too...but the whole globe was back then.
@colormelilac This is such a weird comment. 'Latin" is a geopolitical term. It just signifies geographical area. Part of the Caribbean is considered Latin America and was Latin America before the rest of Latin America. Also, there are lots of similar foods, or even the same, because of similar influences. There is African influence on Latin American food as well as Caribbean influence. If you know anything about different countries, history, or their foods you wouldnt have said that. The hibiscus drink is one example. That's very popular in Mexico too, the flavors might be a little different.
I love Chef Esther Choi so much. She's such an inspiration... Growing up I've never really seen many female Asian role models as the face of something. This show brings me joy!
This series is just FANTASTIC, the Food, the Diversity, the Equity, and Inclusion of all peoples and all cultures being shown is so refreshing in this day and age!! Keep up the great work, Esther and crew!!
Heat Eaters is such a fun show! I love seeing the variety of food and spices, and learning more about the histories, cultures, and stories involved. So cool to see a visit to Shaquanda's in this one. Shaquanda's Banjee Ranch is my favorite!!!
Don't usually make comments, but this is such great work as a show that I have to type something. Guests and host were so enjoyable and informative that they gained instant credibility with the audience. Camera/sound work and Editing was on point, as well. Thank you, all, for sharing it with me!

Thank you for finally featuring SOME parts of Trini 🇹🇹 cuisine, FWF - but you've barely scratched the surface! 😏 I feel Chef Picky (shoutout for having the famous name of Ariapita in there :D) went way easy on the guests; you don't have the title of the world's hottest pepper by being "just sweaty", I feel. 😂 Let Esther try some hot and tasty doubles with "Mother In Law" pepper sauce na? She will definitely get that adrenaline rush she craves. 😉 Big up Trinidad and Tobago! Big up the Caribbean! Big up Heat Eaters. ♥
i really want to try carribean cuisine fully now, thanks to this video. I had curried goat once, in a nightclub of all places, and it wasn't overly great. it was just 'okay'. so I kind of stupidly never tried anything else. i will now. it looks and i'm sure smells and tastes fantastic. Thx
My family went on vacation to jamaica a few times when i was younger. there was one time at the hotel there was an omlet stattion and my dad had an omlete with scotch bonnets in it (he asked for it and the chef did warn him that it was hot). we both ended up crying while eating it but finished it bc it was so delicious. scotch bonnet is such a tasty pepper but it HITS
I still promote the Reaper. The heat from it is so special. Even if YOU dilute it to a bearable level, the heat stays so long. And the panic reaction from YOUR body is priceless. Unless you are from Thailand, then all this is SOMEHOW "normal" to you.
Jamaica hit different. Does spices speed up ur heart rate all in good rotation out of excitement lol.. Stopped at 6:40 untill 6:43. When "NOVA" her self was also behind da scenes getting a plate together to go. Dats how official dat food was for sure. She was outside wittit lol. Respectfully.. Who would you like to see on Heat Eaters?
Justine's mom, she got robbed not sitting down with y'all
Uncle roger...
We need Jimmy O Yang on Hot Ones and Heat Eaters
Padma Lakshmi! She can handle some real heat 🔥💪🏼
Mike Chen just because he can handle spicy food too
Behind Hot Ones, this is the first series on this channel I've seeked out each week. Hope there will be more seasons!
I honestly prefer this over hotones
Agreed, I'm not the speech police, but it's for sure "sought"
❤🎉 me too
