Depends on your definition of "hard."
It's the hardest level to get through on your first try, but on replays it's just a fun time because it's so much simpler than most levels.
No memorizing where secrets are, no complicated mechanics, just running fast and shooting baddies. Compare this to the other two final levels, one with its elaborate maze-like layout and obscure secrets, and the other with combo-killing chase sequences that punish the slightest screwup.

Hard to complete your first time because of the timer mechanics, but IMO one of the easier levels to S or P rank. Unlike other levels, lap 2 gives you extra time, so you’re not crunched for time.

The pink Noise is called Noisette. There are secret rooms in each floor on the hub world and one of them is a place called Noisette's cafe.
Also a fun fact for 33:35: When Pizzaman does this move he is actually trying to pull out the sword to tranform into a knight but he isn't worthy enough so he instead pulls out the forknights from Pizzascape

Fun fact! The sword in the stone is known as Calibrun. Only after being broken (and then repaired and blessed by the Lady in the Lake) does it become “Excalibur”.
…but to be more on-topic, while The Noise was playable for a short time, his Knight transformation featured him holding a fork like the Fork Knights instead of a sword.
Pizzahead is SO unworthy that he pulls out the entire level

So the reason that Pizza face is trying to clone Peppino and all that stuff, is that pizza head will try literally anything to make his business profitable EXCEPT making good pizza. So he tried having mascots in Don't Make a Sound, cloning Peppino who actually DOES know how to make good pizza, and also running other pizza places out of business like Peppino's.
Also, your reaction towards the MSPaint jumpscare was great, as much as I'm sure you hated it, lol

That was such a fun series! If you're gonna continue, here's a VERY IMPORTANT hint: The only way to get S-rank, is by doing everything there is to do in a level. You need to get all the secrets, the Janitor, and do the Lap-2, all in a single run.
There's also the P-rank, where you need to do basically everything you already do in a S-rank + maintain a single continuous combo though the WHOLE LEVEL without ever losing it. It's a tough challenge, but if you feel like you're ready, it's really fun.
S rank actually only requires you to get a bunch of points, P rank requires you to do everything
The one thing P ranks don't require is the toppins!
actually you got it wrong, s rank only requires points, nothing else. P rank is the one that requires all the stuff you listed
Technically speaking, S-ranks just require getting a ton of points (generally double what an A-rank requires), but tbh that's hard to do without doing most if not all of the extra stuff in the levels - especially since getting the Janitor treasure and entering the Lap 2 portal give 3000 points each, the most of any collectible in the game by a huge margin!
Also, the Toppins aren't a hard requirement for any rank, but they're also 1000 easy points each, so there's no real reason to skip them unless you're speedrunning.

I think you should keep up the taunting joke in every future game you play. It's objectively a good funny and I can't think of a single person who doesn't like it.
Edit: I actually do know of Rocket Power AND had a PS1 demo disc featuring the Rocket Power game on it. I don't remember much about it except the level in the demo was an amusement park, and I remember just going on the roller coaster rails all the time. I think I still have that demo disc funny enough. Probably scratched to hell and back unfortunately.
Edit2: You know...if you didn't drop combo at around 42:05 and kept going...you very likely would have gotten a P-rank. Not bad for a first try at all.

@@Transfem_Iron_Valiant I mean I P-ranked John Gutter not too long after finding out the requirements, and I hadn't gotten an S-rank yet. And Ian did actually come pretty close to S-ranking John Gutter on the first lap 2 attempt so I think he can do it.
@@ezzenious9923 I get that, I am just saying that it would make a more fun experience and better content to go for every S-rank before any P-ranks. Getting a P-rank without S-ranks just comes down to getting a "good" run, whereas after you have the practice of S-ranks it comes down to skill.

For future reference, you don't need to grab to climb walls. As long as you run and jump at the wall, you'll climb it -- don't need to be at high speed or anything.
Nice job first trying the final boss! Getting all the secrets is worth it and necessary if you really want to go for 100%, but getting all the treasures is especially worth it. If you plan on S or P ranking the stages, you'll basically need to get all the secrets and treasures anyway, so you can get a few birds with one stone. Also, one of the few playthroughs I've seen that didn't kill Snotty, nice

Just because it isn't needed doesn't mean its removal from the moveset doesn't make the game feel worse to play

The grab is still an alright move for getting a bit of extra speed to start with, but focusing so much on the grabs for wall running means they remove half the ease of it.

This series was such a trip, I’d watch you play through for another ending and P-ranks just because it seems like there’s so much to see and so much content stuffed into this game that you’d only see on multiple playthroughs of each level - and it’s all gold. (Just like the taunt joke. Gets em every time.)

Followed this game for almost 5 years, and was early enough to get a Pizzasona in the game! (The funny guys in secrets) 1 of 54 of them is mine.

Pizza Tower has an amazing finale, for one part the hype boss rush with Peppino (usually scared) going ape shit and on the other mashing all game mechanics in one final level across the all hub worlds, is just DAMN.
Also, I've seen the general idea of wtf is up with Pizza face/head is that he's the representation of a massive food chain mascot (There's pizza guys cut outs everywhere and that Don't make a sound level) taking down smaller business (blowing up Pep's pizzeria) and stealing their image and making it more corporate (the fake Peppinos), similar how the Noise is a reference to the Noid making him direct enemy with Pep.
You should keep doing that joke, it's great!

The thing about Pizzaface and the guy inside is answered very succinctly by Don't Make A Sound.
There's a ton of cardboard cutouts of a little pizza boy with a smile, goofy feet and hands, and a clown nose. This iconography is most common in Don't Make A Sound, meaning that the little dude is the mascot of that Chuck-E-Cheese style establishment. In the background of the first section (The parts where the Mushroom Toppin Monster chases you, with all the arcade cabinets and stuff), there's a poster that says "Pizza Boy Pizza-Pizza is going Bankrupt!" "Oh No!" "So sad!" and a depiction of that little mascot with a tear on his face.
The guy inside of Pizza Face is called Pizza Head. He's that little mascot all grown up and wanting a functional business again, so he sets up the Pizza Tower and hatches a plan to quite literally blow his competition (Peppino's Pizza) out of the water. You can probably think of Fake Peppino and all that as being attempts to copy Peppino's style, which really says a lot about Pizza Head's standards given that Peppino's Pizza is barely staying afloat as is.
Pizza Head himself was first seen in builds of the game dating several years ago, but he was "scrapped" for Pizza Face some time after. The phase 2 of Pizza Face was a twist reveal for everyone, even the people who followed the development!
You gotta P rank every level. For a P rank you need to hold a combo for the whole level get every secret in the level complete lap 2 and get enough score for an S rank

that isn't how you get one. it's keeping a combo throughout the entire level. while getting all toppins. all secrets. the treasure. and lap 2
P-ranks are the hardest thing to do in the entire game. They should be saved for last.

So I'm pretty sure that the implication is that Pizza Face is trying to monopolize all pizza business, which is why he has Chuck E. Cheese/FNAF type animatronics, as well as the fake Peppinos and the robot Peppinos, as well as the freezer level full of fake pizza. He's essentially trying to put all his competition, including homemade mom-and-pop pizza places like Peppino's out of business, but also replacing them with fake pizzerias, which is why the fake Peppino and all the clones and whatnot exist. That's just my interpretation, though.
God I adored this playthrough - and its not even over! You guys are so fun to watch - I know Pizza Tower was kind of a surprise view-count wise for ya'll, but I'm sticking around for the playthroughs to come! Don't worry about how you play or the jokes you make, ya'll are great! And I'd LOVE to see you 100% this game for the sheer insanity of it

The epiphany of humor
Considering Peppino got hurt by the bosses a good number of times, the phrase "If you hurt Peppino too much, you can go to hell!" might have not applied to the player, but to the bosses.
Bare minimum for the alt ending you need all the Treasures. Toppins and Treasures are a definite. Secrets come secondary. Achievements are kind of fun to aim for. They give you 3 challenges per level, S rank all levels on a floor and perfect a boss per floor. Or if you're truly masochistic go for P ranks on the levels. Find all toppins, secrets, and the Jerome treasure then complete a second lap without breaking a combo. This game truly has it all imo.
I'm kind of shook at how many people backed this! That boss fight at the end was *epic* though?!

Just all these fights that took so long and then Peppino just, beats them to death? Then you escape the *whole* tower,(which was sort of hinted at with the dissapearing John blocks in the overworlds). It's just all so _cool._
I like how in the final battle (So spoilers, by the by) after going through 4 boss battles with two different phases, where the enemy regenerates health and gains a new, more difficult ability. PEPPINO gets his own phase two after finally snapping at everything that Pizza Face put him through.
I'd definitely like to see more Pizza tower, getting the rest of the secrets, treasures, and toppin', getting S-ranks (maybe even some coveted P-ranks?). The series has been enjoyable to watch.

The finale to this game is absurdly epic and chaotic, I love that! Let's also not forget about the incredible music, especially the 2nd part with a goofy feeling and interesting lyrics and 3rd one that's simply legendary. I highly hope pizza tower will end up as one of the highest rated 2023 games :)

Very well done on Pizzaface. Alot of people I've seen who played the game have to take multiple attempts
So fun story about pizzahead/pizzaboy: He's from a fictional game called "Pizza Boy Tower" where Peppino was the villain. Like Wario's original origin as the final boss of mario land 2 before getting his own game. Pizza boy used to look like the cardboard cutouts before becoming pizza head. So basically Pizzahead is the final boss as kind of a dark reflection of mario, like gustavo is the good aspects of mario, Pizzahead is just the mascot corporate side and... okay a lot of this is speculation because the plot is really basic on a surface level, but the backstory thing is pretty nice. Another part of his backstory is that he's a war vet... or rather somehow imagined himself into thinking he was a war vet, but everyone who read that bit of info went "Wow that's stupid, I'm going to ignore that." and collectively agreed that he's a war vet despite what mr.pig said. Which I love.
on a more serious note, there is a good ending to the game, but it's acquired by getting every treasure from the tower. As someone who has 101% the game, which requires getting every achievement (Including the ones where you get all P ranks on levels and bosses) as well as acquired every outfit. I can even list all the outfit unlock requirements if you want. I've run out of things to do for this game and I still want more... Watching people fall in love with this game helps satiate my hyper fixation.
I would love to see you finish collecting all the treasures and secrets! I'd also be delighted to see you take a shot at S or P ranks if it's something you end up enjoying.
I loved this series! Even tough it isnt over yet, its probably one of my favorite BLG playtroughs alongside Hi Fi Rush!

Also, if you want a fun fact about the second phase of Pizzaface;
The theme is sampling a song made in 1920 titled 'After You Get What You Want You Don't Want It'. Its about someone quite greedy, constantly demanding more and more. Like a certain pizza place owner which own Spezza places of all themes and sorts, but decides to threaten to destroy another person's livelihood... because he can?
But you can probably make your own inferences. That's just what I think.
ALL you need for P ranks is a 60+ combo, all the 3 eyes secret, janitor secret treasure, lap 2 and a super high score that you normally would need for S rank WITHOUT LETTING YOUR COMBO END

As for post-game im unsure if re-doing the final boss affects the ending but you can replay those levels as you would any other now.
If Ian is willing to try and S-rank or even higher, it may take a lot of level memory, but John Gutter isnt too difficult to get a taste of what's to come on his quest for 100%ing the game.
Best of luck if you guys do chase for 100%, but it will be an even longer adventure ahead of us!

The alternate scene for the ending requires just the treasures, the total toppin count doesn't actually contribute to anything regarding the ending.
I suppose being the only level you can properly die in makes it harder by default, but holy crap war was a hard level. I'm trying to get all the treasures right now and the thought of looking for the janitor and the door while fighting the timer gives me anxiety

Undertale got some help on its kickstarter because toby fox assisted in homestuck with music for years, and homestuck was a huge huge fandom at the time.
essentially pizza boy is the head/mascot of a mass-produced pizza monopoly who wants to torture peppino solely because peppino is an independent pizzaiolo. i think it's also implied that all the bosses are basically competitors pizza boy bought out, and that's why they're so happy to follow you out. whether mcpig meant to or not, it was a pretty damning portrait of megacorp behaviour.
Peppino is the working-class hero that we need.
I definitely came to the same conclusion, it also explains so much of the War level.
The intention of ruining Peppino isn't just to get rid of a competitor, but Pizza Head also seeks to fully replace Peppino on a giant scale with all the clones he's been mass-producing, a flawed attempt at trying to recreate what makes Peppino's Pizza special.
With what we can see from the FNAF level, we also get to see that Pizza Head started off as a smaller business with tons of mascots too, until everything was shelved after going into debt himself, including Pizza Head replacing himself with the simplified Pizzaface as the company's literal new face, likely an allusion to brand logos in recent time and mascots disappearing.
So Peppino stayed true to himself when he was in debt and fought back, while Pizza Head sold out his soul and quality instead.
This makes the final fight of an authentic mom-and-pop shop angrily beating the shit out of a megacorp so much more satisfying.
Pizza Head hilariously fulfills the role of a dark mirror version of the protagonist, and it's great.
the reward for getting all of the secrets isn't AS worth it as the one for getting all of the treasures, but it's still a pretty neat little reward! this entire playthrough was such a fun time :)
normally I dislike when games bring back other bosses you have to fight before the big bad guy but peppino getting so fucking frustrated then beating the ever living hell out of all of them was amazing

i want you guys to get your first P rank (not let down your combo for the entire level, go in every secret of the level, find the treasure, get enough for that u normally would for an S rank AND do the lap 2 portal)
The only thing that counts for a 100% is the Treasures (Which give you a good ending) and I believe the toppings
Its funny how the war level teaches you that the gun and attacking in general is bad cause its slow and destroys your momentum.
In the WAR stage, lap 2 gives you like 3 extra minutes, so save the secrets in that level for the second lap.

4) ohhhhh i have so many thoughts about pizzahead. you know how mcdonalds basically replaced ronald mcdonald with the more simplistic happy meal box? i think that's what happened with pizzahead. and it's actually really funny that you say "is the pizza obsessed with us?" because yeah. i really think he is. most people see the dont make a sound level as proof that pizzahead's brand failed but. i dont think so. i think he made that level just to mess with peppino. because he's obsessed with him. he's bored. and peppino, with how he just wont give up, intrigues him. but pizzahead's overconfidence is what ended up causing his demise. peppino defeated him, he was on top of the world, and now he's lost everything. i have even MORE thoughts so if anyone wants to hear more lmk in the replies

I think you should try to get some P-Ranks, i dont have any specific levels or anything, but here’s what i’m doing: I pick my favorite levels, get a P-Rank, and then do the rest of the levels. You could also just do it by floor.
I totally grew up on those old Nick shows, Rocket Power being one of them!
you can try for either the S ranks, which is getting a whole lot of points (secrets, treasure, lap 2, in some levels not all are required) or the difficult P ranks, for which you _need_ all the secrets, treasures, lap 2 AND you need to keep a combo for the entire level.

I personally would love to see a 100% playthrough of the game and try to get the highest score you can maybe even a possible P rank who knows cant wait to see more
So I had never heard of this game before its release, didn't follow development and when this Pizza Dude was revealed I was like "Who???" Apparently he's a reference to a video game that exists in universe that was shown during development and HE was the hero and Peppino was the bad guy. This might be what the Pizza Granny who was saying "someone from your past life is leading the way" or something like that.
There's no second ending where you get everything correct or 100% there's just a single ending and what you escape the pizza tower
Your gameplay was genuinely really good! This has been a great series
Also the good ending isn't much, just an extra scene. But it's nice

If you want to 101% the game I think requires the p-ranks and achievements but I'm not sure about the achievements

There is a level beyond S Rank. To gain said rank, you must be 'P'erfect.
