A friend and I were at Mickey's one night years ago and Mariah was there. My friend had just started doing drag and when she heard this she offered to answer any questions he had about doing drag. She spent over an hour telling him how to properly make pads in proportion to your body and many other things. She was so kind with her time and her wisdom. Will never forget how excited she seemed to just talk shop and share.

Delta looks so good, I have started using words like extemporaneously in my every day conversation
I didn't know anything about ballroom, outside of what I had seen on Pose and Paris is Burning. Then that ballroom reality show came on, and I binged it while recovering from back surgery. The performances blew me away! I know the capitalization of it is problematic, but it does introduce people to the art form.
It's an introduction, but is it an accurate one? That seems to be the main issue; not that more people are appreciating it, but because it's known that mainstreaming whitewashes and commercializes. More people appreciating black culture but not black people. (not saying that's you)
Fun fact: The black box of a plane is actually orange 🔶
