- So glad @Hymnodic told me to check out Doki Doki Morning by BABYMETAL! I had a lot of fun with this one and look forward to my next BABYMETAL reaction! Lots of cool music, and an absolutely CAPTIVATING live experience!

Do yourself a favor and watch the official MV, that's when this song really shines being their very first song that started all this madness.
Also BM released more recent live versions of early era songs such Syncopation and YAVA! but don't go for those official versions yet, you can enjoy first:
- *Syncopation* live at Fox Festival 2017 or Tokyo Dome 2016.
- *YAVA!* with Kami Band intro live at Fox Festival 2017 and if you want to check it out the newer version at Legend MM then you can find a Kami Band intro version at "For The Fox God".

Sounds a bit different cause it was their first ever single when they were like 11 and 12 literally so you can hear Su trying to CONTACT her younger self with her singing here.

This song is about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly "what time is it now?. "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. And the girl also got excited looking forward to what was going to happen today at her school and in her future as well.
Su, Moa and Momoko are matured and no longer school girls, but they revived this song in 2021 with cute voices and lovable moves that are reminiscent of their early-teen performance. They have performed it occasionally since then to make the audience smile happily.

It sounds very different because the lyrics are “age appropriate”, and the gals were 12/11 back then, lol. They stopped performing this song after 2017, but brought it back again due to popularity.

They performed it in 2021, 2023, and 2024. That's only a three year gap of not performing it, which is far better than a lot of their so-called 'age appropriate' songs like Rondo of Nightmare which they haven't performed for far longer.
This woul've been your first CONTACT with them if you had stumbled over them almost 14 years ago because this was their first single ever released back in fall 2010.

Try Syncopation (Live at Legend MM). BABYMETAL officially released the Legend MM performance not too long ago and I think you’ll dig this one.
Even though the studio version is exclusively available in Japan (released on the Metal Resistance album), they were actually surprised on how much this song is loved by fans all over the world. It’s definitely one of my personal favorite songs.

"Doki Doki" represents the sound of an excited heartbeat.
Like many classic Heavy Metal songs, this one talks about which cute hairstyle and lip gloss they should decide on for school. : )
This was the first BABYMETAL single, music video, etc.
The music video for this song blowing up on social media helped them start to go viral, especially outside of Japan.
This let them CONTACT a much wider audience.
Okay, you've earned my sub. I absolutely love BABYMETAL. They are my second favorite band of all time, and Doki Doki Morning is the song that is considered "The Birth of BABYMETAL. Call me a cultist if you want, even though "The One" is #NotaCult, but Suzuka IS the Queen of Metal, chosen by the Fox God to unite the world with Metal. I love your reviews of BABYMETAL songs, and as a 420 enthusiast myself, CONTACT!, I hope you chose to dive into the Fox hole as much as a lot of us fans have. There is simply NO other band I can think of that devotes as much passion and energy into their music as these girls. This was BABYMETAL's very first single! It was recorded in 2010 and was released in Oct 2011, so it is about to turn 13 years old. The girls were 12-13 years old when it was released which means that Su and Moa have spent HALF of their lives in BABYMETAL!🤘🦊🤘

yeah and innerstellar contact has happened in the Metalverse when Su channels her inner younger self, man if you wanna really trip out in the Metalverse , checkout the version of this song when they came back to earth in Jan. of 2023, Su and Moa channeled their younger selves so hard that three younger versions of themselves appeared on another moving stage and they were like singing the song to each other, it's really trippy dude, can you dig it?

This morning ive got to take my cat to the Vet and see whats going on with him, I saved him when he was just under 2 weeks old, hand fed him and everything, he just turned 13. Dude, you HAVE to watch the original music video! They were TINYYYY back then, but so bad ass too. And watch it stoned! There some freaky shit going on in that video you'll get a kick out of😂😂.
You need to do some of their older stuff. To get a feel for why us OG fans fell in love with this group in the first place. What started this phenomenon. Today's Babymetal is more prog metal and serious. The Yui era Babymetal, 2010-2018, was the fun, cute/kawaii, era. The songs were quirky and fun. Not that they didn't have serious songs like Akatsuki, and Rondo Of Nightmare, but the majority were silly fun songs. Their third album on, they kind of started leaving that cutesy theme behind.
I still highly recommend the Babymetal guide video.

This was their very first song, released (2011?) when they were VERY young (the official MV is revealing).
That fact that they can still pull this off as young ladies is a testament to their talent.
