I love Jenks Lake. I started to fish this lake about 15 years ago. It was sad to see the lake get so low during the drought a few years ago. I was extremely happy to see the lake return to its former glory. Keep up the good work.
Jenks Lake is where I really learned how to fish for trout. Love that lake. we are so lucky that it survived all the fires. I need to take a day off during the week and take Mom up there for the day.
I was there on friday, day after the stock. It was nearly a wide open trout fishing. They actually put some decent fish in there too. I ended up catching 12 trout, took 4 home. They didn't want the power bait at all, I caught all 12 fish using mini jigs or power worms. The fish were crazy hungry. I was standing on the pier just jigging up and down 5 ft in front of me, The water was super clear so I could see my jig moving up and down, and the trout would come up out of the deep and just slam my bait, was one of my favorite days of fishing in a while. I think I had at least six or seven fish where I was able to watch them grab my lure. Can't beat that! I should have stayed at the lake longer I left about 11:00 a.m. to go check out the Santa Ana River. The river was not looking too good lol. I couldn't find any pools at all, completely blown out It looks like they had a lot of damage up there this year. It was a beautiful day at Jenks though!
@@TroutWest I actually posted this before I watched your video, looks like you got some good ones also! I was surprised that the size of the fish for that lake, last time I was there last summer the fish were all like 8 to 10 in dinks, They stepped their game up this year!
We typically stick with Berkley products... bass and catfish are a different animal. Lots of info there, drop by my patreon soon, we are going to be talking about the cat/bass @ gregory very soon
Headed up there this weekend for some float tube. Feel like it’s the closest lake around here to the Sierras feel. Glad to see the lake made a healthy comeback. Decent size stockers too. 🤙🏼

It would have been a great time for the forest service to clean up the bottom of the lake and dredge it. Missed opportunity but it is full now.

Definitely gotta go more before the weeds get bad
Beautiful day at Jenks.
Weather has been unbeatable up there lately
One of the best lakes in SoCal! Always a good time there even if you only end up catching the little bass in there.
Hello Jamie, yeah there are a lot of different fish in there considering the elevation. Be interesting if it had smallmouth!

Appreciate you watchin'
Appreciate the trash pick up. I almost always pick up a grocery bag of trash. Keep it clean for everyone to enjoy !!!!!!
Gets annoying to have to do it every time but I would rather fish a clean Lake and have the person after me fish a clean Lake 👍👍🤙🤙
Nice gonna go this weekend
Good luck!

It's a nice lake, very rare thing here in Southern Cal
👏🏼for them letting anglers catch and release the healthy ones. Good stuff.
I wish you would give more information about the baits, techniques, and adjustments you made 😪
Nice day for fishing
I haven’t been to jenks in almost 20 years probably. How much is it to fish there now?
Fishing is free.
As much as I see you out there brother I can say you fish for me Drew, haha!
Haha, you gotta hit the shoreline!
Are you going to the Sierras for the opening this weekend?
Watch the end of the video!
What a pretty spot to fish. Congrats on the catches.
