Palpatine knew about them literally because one of his apprentices told him. The Fosh Jedi Vergere was his apprentice and agent. • @randfan1776

Palpatine’s first goal was always to obtain power for himself. Any aid he brought to the galaxy was incidental. The Death Star’s primary purpose was to frighten anyone from standing against him. It’s secondary purpose was to strengthen the Dark Side, and thus Sidious’s power in the force, by spreading fear. Stopping the Vong is a side benefit. Always remember that Darth Sidious is simply the Devil incarnate: completely self interested.

The Emperor's only desire was protect the Galaxy. Why would you think anything else? 😉
As Lenang O'pail said 55 ABY:
"They refuse to consider the possibility that the Empire's apparent brutality and ruthlessness were necessary parts of preparing for that terrible war. Why do they refuse to do so? Because that would lead them to the only logical conclusion: that Palpatine was right!" (The Essential Guide To Warfare)

But some of the most interesting characters in literature are ones with complex motives and depth.we could have a conversation about if the emperor's way of fighting the yuu were good bad misguided whatever. Instead it's he wanted to live forever and reshape the galaxy the way he wanted it because he's evil and the bad guy. Again that isn't wrong but I can't really go any deeper into say... Maybe this theory is the reason why Darth Vader had more of a reason to stay on the darkside after padme's death. In order to be powerful enough to protect his kids, and another reason why he hated kenobi so much for not joining the darkside with him. Then after seeing how powerful luke had become he had hope that he could be able to train jedi in the lightside to be of equal power if not more to take on the invading race and so he betrayed the empire. Just a thought tho. Great Vids!!!!!!!!

  • @erickirk2427
    @erickirk2427 ปีที่แล้ว +12

He did but he should have meditated with the force and tried to see what the Yuuzhan Vong were. Also, he should have told the Jedi what was going on as the Chancellor saying well the unknown regions carry a huge threat that would destroy the known Galaxy. This would have made the CIS (aka under Palpatine's control or Sidious aka Palpatine) stop the fight and focus the Zillions (literal number of droids) that the CIS had, Jedi, Clones and more ready to fight the Yuuzhan Vong. He could have manipulated to stay in office that long as he got old and built up everything and do a full incursion into the unknown to destroy the Vong. After the dust settled Anakin would have been fully recognized and so would Luke and Leia in the force. Anakin would have turned to the dark side. After the war that claimed between 300 to 365 trillion beings and almost probably widdled the Jedi down some then Anakin swoop in and do his thing and Sidious is revived already in his new clone body watching.

Something that takes place in between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope where we see the Emperor getting ready for the Yuuzhan Vong. We could see the Emperor doing super evil stuff but also putting things in place to fight the Yuuzhan Vong. Maybe even the Emperor sends Mara Jade out to the Unknown Regions to collect intelligence on their movements.

The technology from palpatines Death Star is obviously stolen technology from an older time, that belonged to the eternal throne, which would mean that palpatine wasnt a true heir to the throne, those rulers protected the galaxy to some extent with the same type of technologies in the distant past from unseen forces, while the republic and new empire deemed them as a threat…it seems to me that neither the light side users or dark side users truly understand their purpose in the galaxy’s as they were created alongside each other and originally trained alongside each other as though they were intended to actually fight together as a single coherence force, there may actually be a secret in the force that has not been learned by both types of force users either individually or paired that unlocks abilities to defeat these types of threats from beyond the outer rim or wherever they come from, for example a new force sense that would detect this species that appears cloaked by normal force abilities…similar to how sentenials were trained to sense dark side users, this new race is using biological engineered weapons and this living or undead presence originates from some place with the force, it’s just a matter of connecting with this new entity

I really want them to do a movie/show about sharad hett!
Would be the perfect way to introduce the vong in his later years, but I think it would be a super big hit!
A lot of fans don’t know his story,
Fans would get to see more of the culture of the Tusken raiders (which the book of boba did a great job of)
Then they’d get to see him growing up as a Jedi under Jedi Master ki-adi-mundi, maybe introduce the comic where he removes his mask in front of Anakin showing him not all tuskens are monsters.. (and obviously didn’t report anakin after hearing him say he slaughtered a whole tribe of his people)
order 66 happens and he goes home to tattooine and becomes the head of his and his father’s tribe, all that time raiding and killing… which leads him to raiding moisture farms…
Just a little bit too close to “the REAL chosen one”
Which causes one of the most impactful changes in hett’s life..
When hett gets too close to Luke and Ben Kenobi gets in his way, kenobi doesn’t want to hurt him as kenobi easily could have during their fight, instead “old Ben” removes his mask in front of his entire tribe therefore proving him unworthy to lead! He is then abandoned in the sands by his tribe!! Utterly defeated… he became a bounty hunter, which led him to korriban..
After that he is imprisoned and tortured by the vong, and eventually becomes the beloved “Darth Krayt” the “ONE SITH”
just imagining the part of the movie/show where he comes out of hiding to help Luke face abeloth….. #chills!!!!
Then after he goes into stasis, he re-emerges to spark the “sith imperial war” leading to the destruction of the galactic federation of free alliances, Also attempting to destroy the new Jedi order.
He finds the existence of a “skywalker” (Cade)
So he hunts down cade, however he ends up getting stabbed, electrocuted, and sent flying off a cliff.
This ultimately doesn’t kill him, and his trusted advisor Darth wyyrlok tries to murder him believing he is the sith’s downfall.
Krayt heals himself from the death experience, and retakes coruscant from wyyrlok.
He tries to turn Cade skywalker to the dark side and fails, Cade is able to kill him and incinerate his body so he couldn’t come back physically…

You get the New Jedi Order with Luke as Grandmaster. Mara Jade and son Ben, who plays predominately in the story. You get the Solos together, pursued for arrest by their son Jason. You get Lumiya as one of the main villains, with a direct tie to the Sith and her master Darth Vader. Intrigue, betrayal, light saber battles, space battles. And final climax as a descendant of Vadar, becomes the new Dark Lord of the Sith, only to later be defeated by his twin sister. Story was already written and the dialog already set. All they had to do was cut it down to fit 7.5-8 hrs of movie time. would have been "Lord of the Rings" type money maker.

Here is how Palpatine viewed things. The Republic was a stepping stone to the empire. And the empire was a stepping stone to the “dark empire,” which essentially was a test to see if he can defend the galaxy from an external threat. If he master even that, then he was worthy of ruling the universe beyond the galaxy.

Protecting what was his makws some sense...but the Deathstar makes something else. Namely, wounds in the force. Every inhabited planet destroyed would scream out in terror, creating a force nexus that a being like Palpatine could feed off of. Gaining power like Nihilus or Vitiate without consuming life and creating a never ending hunger within him.

    • @jamesbrigham1299
      @jamesbrigham1299 ปีที่แล้ว

Palpatine never had that ability to feed from the force, like those mentioned, including Darth Bane, who did. It was a lost Sith art. he had long considered everything his, but he was not narcissistic about it. If you haven't listen to the Darth Plageuis novelization, you must. It will give insight to Palpatine and fully explain why they made movie decisions in Ep 1.

In Plagius they go to that primitive world and fight the inhabitants, killing only the best warrior to sew fear. They also have the hunting resort to feed passions like blood lust and greed. That's what I'm saying they're feeding on.

The Yuuzhan Vong weren't the primary reason Palpatine did anything, but they were a convenient excuse. Any time he could accomplish one of his real goals and use the threat of the Far Outsiders as an extra justification was a bonus. An invincible (in theory) weapon that could take out a planet in a single shot was for terrifying dissidents into submission first, and popping Vong Worldships second

I wasn't sure how I felt about the idea of Palps building the Empire so strong to beat the Vong even back then. Palpatine works better when he's pure unadulterated evil, and the idea he was trying to protect the galaxy from the Vong (especially with what we know after the fact about the Vong) almost justifies it all in moral terms. The US developed the atomic bomb not only to end WW2 with overwhelming force, but to create a deterrent to future conflicts of that scale through fear of the use of such horrifying weapons. That deterrence idea justified their use, and the horrors we saw the Vong make an extremely good case for such a military dictatorship. Also, I'd be curious in what material did the Sith learn of the Far Outsiders before Outbound Flight? Because my understanding was the the first Sith to learn of them was Sidious in his conversation with Thrawn and Doriana during the Outbound Flight incident in Chiss space, where Thrawn justifies his militance and heavy handed tactics that so pissed off the rest of the Chiss ruling class with knowledge of the Vong (called Far Outsiders in that book).

I will explicitly argue that the world devastators and galaxy gun and eclipse could be weapons of contingency against the Yuuzhan Vong.
But the death star is most definitely not a Vong contingency. It instructs domestic fear over rebellions.
Whereas it would be up to the Eclipse I and Eclipse II that could fend off the Yuuzhan Vong.
I mean not really cause penultimate answer is, imperial weapons could fight the Vong but they weren't designed to fight the Vong.
Like a AK-47 is designed to fight humans not lions but people definitely used it affectively against mountain lions.
But here's the last issue and this is important.
I call it the writers didn't fucking know about the Yuuzhan vong by the time their superweapons are being written about.
Palpatine as shown in dark empire wanted to rule all worlds and galaxies not just the main one so all extragalactic wars will be framed as Palpatine defending the galaxy and civilizing the barbarians. And when threats show up, while he did nothing, he'll say something self justifying along the lines of "i knew something like this may happen"
The Eclipse is more maneuverable and adaptable with better weapons diversity compared to the death star.
Yes the Galactic empire can win against the vong.
A demilitarized multi faction galaxy took out the Vong, a united very militarized large empire will certainly win. But the idea that the empire is a vong contingency is cope.
It's however in my opinion as a very pro empire supporter that the empire Is a extremely great side product to halt the Yuuzhan Vong.
