    Thanks so much!! My wife and and I will be on the ship later this year from Vancouver to Antarctica. Your video gave us such a great feel for the ship. We've been on all their other ships. This one is so different, yet still has that familiar vibe. It's like Seabourn reimagined.

      Hello,
      You're very welcome! You and your wife will love this ship I expect. YVR-Antarctica!? Wow, I know that itin; I think- you'll be catching Venture right after she leaves from Nome. Gosh, you have a very long itin ahead.. going to be epic!
      For us, to date, only Ovation, though have booked Ody & Sojourn for this year (onboard Venture). You're right about the vibe- she's different and familiar. I'd say the Square is probably going to be the most familiar.
      TY for watching, and I hope you like the upcoming Antarctic series airing through March (episode listing in this video's description)!

      I think so too. There is no overage of bling, and as you say. it's a unique look/design. I think for an expedition, it fits. Thanks for watching :)

    This is undeniably a very nice ship with a mix of style and functionality. The sauna with window is a nice touch as well as the Bow Lounge with information and screens. I could see the Patio being a popular spot but not sure it would be warm enough for me to use that pool! It was interesting to see the Mud Room, zodiacs and submarine!

      Thanks, Laura! Definitely functional - the designer didn't ask my inout, lol, but I'd not have made it quite so brown/tan. Thanks for watching :)

    Thanks for the lovely tour Bob. That’s some serious kit/toys they’ve got on board. That Sub looks out of this world - and we’ll done for filming while getting into the thing! I bet not even Jacques Cousteau could do that! The Bow lounge looked great too - lots of screens to play with 😁 I love that spiralling staircase design in the atrium - a truly beautiful ship - the dining room is something else isn’t it?

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steph!
      Glad you enjoyed it.... yes the sub bit was a bit interesting to film; they required hands-free for safety, so I just used a helmet cam which they had no issue with.
      I love the Bow Lounge.. it's my favorite venue, especially since coffee and pastries, to go along with the views, opened at 6:15 every morning!
      The dining room is very cool, though I might have used a bit lighter Browns, but heck, I wasn't consulted!

      Thank you, that's very kind. Wow- a bit envious that you spent so much time on her!
      As to the remaining series, please take time to look at the episode description and upcoming series schedule, all f which are listed in the video's description. A few (who seemed to assume this was only about already being there) have taken issue with the editing of Ep 1 as it spends a bit of time on getting there and touring Buenos Aires. If you like aviation and culture, Ep. 1 is also for you, lol.
      Thank you for watching and making comments!

    Enjoying your videos, beautifully shot and nicely edited.
    We went to Antarctica in 2019 on the Seabourn Quest, and to Greenland in 2022 on the Venture. I'm reliving our trips via your series.
    We may have been in the same (or a very similar) cabin on the Venture (deck 5 forward, starboard). On our trip, we were surrounded by Seabourn staff. The wife and child of an officer were in the cabin forward of us, two new crew (presumably in preventive new-staff quarantine) were aft of us, and the Seabourn videographer was across the hall.

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi IDL9AVE, thank you for the kind words. We were booked on Quest for Dec 2020 and Dec 2021.. but, as they obs didn't go, we moved the FCC to Venture.
      Regarding our cabin, there were no issues with our location, staff-connected or otherwise; it was 'just' a V1, and perfectly suited us. It ended up being PERFECT to be so close to the waterline, as Whales (Ep 5) and other things swimming by were so close! Thank you for taking time to comment and glad you are enjoying the series!

      If you have time before you go, be sure to check out the 10-episode Vlog series we made from this trip.

    Thanks for putting this together. On Venture in February. Should we be concerned about the stabilizers not working?

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peter,
      You're welcome, and thanks for taking the time to comment.
      IMHO, yes, I would be concerned about the stabilizers knowing what I know (i.e., our 20-night Holiday sailing was the first to learn about it.. in real time).
      The stabilizers' reduced capacity keeps them from 'challenging' (my words) the east-west currents to/from S. Georgia. I'm an aviation specialist, not an engineer, but I know enough to think that such an impact 'most probably' has some impact elsewhere, like The Drake*.
      * Falklands to Antarctica , it was fairly smooth. Deception Island back to Ushuaia... not so much; more shake than lake.
      Again, imho, I would take the opinion that there must reasonably some impact to what would have been- smoother Antartica operations were one to have fully functional stabilizers.
      Feel free to dm me up on Social Media for any other concerns. Thanks for watching!

    Another brilliant tour Bob and what a fantastic ship she is! Has a real nice feel and love the decor, as you say a real fusion of expedition and luxury classic cruising. Are the screens in the Bow Lounge interactive or just informational? Ideal for the ship geeks amongst us pretending to be the Master 😂. The sub experience looks something else, presumably at additional cost?

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Pete! Overall, I also love the decor. The bow screens are informational and interactive.. lots to play with.
      Sub presumably at an extra cost? SOMEBODY didn't watch our 'Antarctica Preview" video closely (it is very much mentioned) 🤣
      TY for watching!

    I have a question about the kayaks. The hubby and I are taking our trip on the Seabourn Venture this coming January and are so excited after watching the videos. Can you tell me if Seabourn loans a dry suit for the kayaks? Do they loan us the waterproof boots for the kayaks? If we're supposed to use our own waterproof pants that we have for the zodiac and land excursions, would it be better or not to have the zipper on the lower pants leg to get the shoes off and on? How wet do we get on the kayaks? We're planning to do the kayaks regardless but just want to make sure we have the correct clothing. Thanks bunches.

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Carolyn,
      Glad you liked the videos (Obs you’ve seen the ship tour, lol, and hope you’ve enjoyed the 10-ep series/sub and room tour as well).
      Regarding drysuits - yes, there is a sort of coverall outfit you are loaned for those wanting to do the kayaks (there is a ‘fitting’ where you can make sure they have your size). I’m not small, and while there were suits for big people, to a point - I was too large to actually fit into the kayak, so I didn’t go. TBH, I don’t honestly remember if the suits were ‘dry suits’, but it would make sense if there were. They will go over your inner thermal layers you’ll be taking, regardless.
      As to the shoes, I’m sorry but I don’t remember. When you go to the ‘mud room’ for the kayak safety briefing, it is there you’ll also try getting in and out of the kayak, for practice. In my case, the rental fee for the kayak was refunded because I didn’t fit in it; they were very reasonable about that.
      The pants… yes absolutely ought to be zippered at the bottom OR be the kind that have a draw string for loosening. HIGHLY recommend you go only off SB’s recommended shipping list and shop from their recommended ‘store’ to be sure; this has the added benefit of ensuring you have all the layers/stuff you need. Small items of course, such as a wool beanie or waterproof gloves you can bring your own.
      Hope this helps!

      @@InnocentsAbroad Thank you sooo much. Yes, absolutely it helped and yes, we have enjoyed the entire series. We've watched it many times in order to get an idea of what our trip will be like and making sure we pack only what we will need. I've been using SB's shipping list, though I've purchased a few items from Whole Earth and REI instead. I found their rental store the other day and picked up waterproof neoprene paddling gloves and socks. Much cheaper to rent than to purchase and they didn't mind that our trip wasn't until January.

    Great video! When do you find the ship that empty-at midnight?🤣 What do they use all those outdoor spaces for in Antarctica?? I can’t think of anything I’d rather not do than kayak in Antarctica, but yes to the submarine. Interested to how you would compare this cruise to the one you did on the Octantis, which is what I’m on in January, 2024.

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cheri,
      I remember very well which one and when you are on... and I think you'll enjoy her quite a bit.
      lol, too funny.. as to empty spaces for filming, I usually made a point doing ship tours to get into spaces quite early before most folks have risen; not too difficult a task since sunrise/sunset was about 2am/midnight!
      Very nearly all the outdoor spaces are used, though, as mentioned in our 'Preview' video, I didn't see deck 9's aft tubs used. The rest, 100%. put a jacket on, thermal layers, and head outside fr the nature of it all. It was lovely!

    Can I ask was it rocky during the seas in December ??? I presume so but the start of the video looks really calm

    • @InnocentsAbroad
      @InnocentsAbroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Josh,
      You're most welcome to ask anything of any of our videos :)
      None of it was rocky, truly, UNTIL a dy of the northbound Drake Passage on/about Jan 2, 2023. It really was very pleasant, and not just the bits that made the editing finals.
      Hopefully you are going through the entire 12-part series, but when you get to Ep 10, sailing through he Drake Passage is filmed- it's our approach to Cape Horn that was the roughest, and imho, wasn't really that rough.
      Thanks for watching and making the effort to comment!
