I just got SwiftKey yesterday and I LOVE it. It's like the closest thing to Apple because it gives you suggestions as soon as you open the keyboard which is like what Apple has (you don't have to start typing to see suggestions) and I have a nice pink theme where it has pink highlights but it still has the touch of a plain white keyboard so it's nice and I love the AI generated memes and the Copilot built in. I can say I'm more satisfied with SwiftKey than Gboard and I used Gboard since I got my first phone in 2019 Also the autocorrect is really good seeing how I type fast and I make mistakes a lot but it corrects it almost instantly.
Swiftkey also has bing which you have chatgpt in your keyboard plus dalle 3 and more ai stuff and then the Google copy link feauture is also on it but with bing

What about battery drain? My GBoard battery usage is significant in background - it always works from the last charging along many hours and days to next charging... It prevents the phone to go in deep sleep... What about SwiftKey? Does it work in background constantly collecting users data), like GBoard does?
I've given Gboard a chance but it's just not a smooth experience. Autocorrect and basic functions wouldn't trigger as often as SwiftKey, SwiftKey is definitely more forgiving once it learns your typing map. I have big thumbs so I have a lot of wrong inputs. I'm not sure if Gboard has the same adaptive map but it definitely helps with SwiftKey.

Gboard still works well for me. Swiftkey is still in development and can be a bit slow at times, and we are still getting used to using it. It will take some time for it to be as fast and seamless as Gboard.

@@cabletow Go to the keyboard settings, then Rich Input, then tap clipboard. Add a new clipboard and its shortcut. Now typing the shortcut will show the full sentence. Just tap on it in the suggestion row.

I was trying to type the word "additional" into swiftkey and it would not get the word right, no matter how slowly and carefully I swiped it in. It just kept typing Adirondack over and over again, not learning that that wasn't the word I was looking for and not giving me other choices. Both Gboard and Samsung keyboard got it right immediately and accurately every single time I tested it. I found this to be true too much of the time, unfortunately. I love the AI features but a keyboard has to be accurate first and foremost

I think you are limited to what it offers. You can adjust the volume so that it's not annoying.

Most phones have a tiny button in the bottom right corner when the keyboard is open. Taping that button opens the keyboard menu.

Both keyboards say that they never see what you type. Your data never leaves the phone. So you are safe to use both.
