Ive been fishing sonce i was 3/4 years old now 33. Not once have i seen them. Nevermind had my licence checked. Still never fail to get one. And i dot my last papr one too. End or an era
They only issue via e-mail now. If you don't have a smart phone or any signal then they can only rely on you giving a correct name and address, which I presume must be on their database. My licence hasn't been checked in years. Shame they don't seem to pick on polluters or poachers. Honest looking folk are an easier target I guess.
He is a nice man that checked my licence so I did not let go the pure venom and disgust I feel for the double standard of those polluting our rivers then giving huge fines for enjoying them without a bit of Government involvement.

In the past I have gone for years without a check but now the big money fines are in they are more active.😁
Think they should introduce the rod licence in Scotland too. A hefty fine might go a long way to deter people fishing without permits/poaching
With over 30.000 freshwater lochscant see it ever being feasible up here. How would you even begin to police it.

I was checked about a month ago for my rod license. So they can do that but they can't check the amount of sewage being pumped in to our rivers 🤨

UK Government calls it a ( Rod fishing licence) so I am 60% correct.
I was there last Saturday it was a tough day, but managed 5 two on dries
