    X3 owner here in the States. Love it!
    You asked Brad about changes…
    One thing I’d suggest, especially here in the northeast where fall and early spring can get pretty cold, is developing some sort of interior down wall and roof system that can be zipped together for added warmth…similar to what Crua and other rooftop tent manufacturers are doing.

      Hey Philip, we are glad to hear you're loving the X3! Thanks for the feedback, we are always looking at ways we can improve and innovate our Camper Trailers. We will pass it onto our engineering team 😄

    We bought our patriot X3 because of Trail Recon and now finally after almost a year we are driving to Oklahoma to pick ours up! Plan on making a video myself! Super excited!

      @jasonirvin6782 - we ordered ours in October 2020 and keep hearing different excuses why we have not received ours. Now we have no ETA and the reasons they give make no sense as it is not lining up what they said previously. We are really concerned since they got their money in full..will be good to know when you ordered yours

      @@ndeswardt001 hello friend I ordered my X3 11/1/21! I just went back and checked my e-mail. I just received it (drove out to Durant Oklahoma to get it) on 12/29/2022. When we purchased ours we were told that they were looking at an August 2022 delivery and a April 2022 production model. I did pay all of my money up front as well. Over the phone contact was hard as sometimes it felt like they were too busy to answer my calls or emails… HOWEVER last week when I got to Exploration Outfitters everything changed. I saw a small force of guys doing a lot of work! Ray, was THE GUY working the front and manning the phones which I heard ring (he didn’t pick up he gave us his full attention) he worked exclusively with us giving personalized attention to the demo and details of the Patriot. The rest of the team that I met seemed to work in the shop! They also did amazing installing the trailer break kit on my wrangler. Also…. The trailer IS BAD ASS ( on the way back to Las Vegas, no lie we got pulled over by a cop who only wanted to ask about the trailer) ! Just know that those guys there are dealing with shipment issues and production from Australia that I don’t think they have much control on. When you meet them you will definitely see a great team and even more dedicated one on one experience for your X3 as well! That was my experience anyways :) I hope that helps!

      I live 3 miles from where everyone picks up these trailers. They built my Jeep- AlleyCat, and always see the trailers but never asked about them. I drive by them everyday, guess I will be stopping in and asking some questions. They have 2 or 3 sitting out front right now. I saw a tan and an army green. Funny how something is in your backyard and you have to see it on social media.

    To the question "what would you change" - The one thing we would change on our X1GT would be to have a fixed gas reg and line plumbed to a bayonet outlet near the stove. The stove could then just plug in when necessary. The idea of having to manhandle the gas bottle every time you stop for a cuppa or a quick cook up is just a pain in the proverbial.

    • @jhammond6171
      @jhammond6171 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While I agree, my old camper had something similar. Australian design regulations for gas plumbing on vehicles is strict and prohibitive. We (end user) would pay for all the hassle in the end. Having said that, you can do it yourself, quiet cheap, but not compliant.

    Great video. In the "what would you change" category, I would say add a heating system for the water tanks, pump, and lines to prevent freeze-ups when camping in super cold weather, which some of us actually enjoy doing. And make the system retrofit-friendly.

    Portable AC ports for the tent in the desert is one thing I would add. People use those portable air conditioner vents in tents when it's just to hot during the day.

    Hello Patriot Campers. I was with the Bronco group you ran into on the trail in Anza-Borrego. I had the light blue Bronco that Mia sat in. We had no idea at the time we were in the presence of Australian off-road royalty LOL! We looked up your vids once back at camp. Congrats on your FJ being a featured vehicle at SEMA. We are down there every mid-November for Bronco Daze. Hope to see you out there again. Cheers!

    How about in addition to a fuel cell. Add some electric motors on the wheels. That can charge batteries when being towed. But could add assistance to the trailer in tight wheeling spots. To take some of the strain off the tow rig. Something that could link with the vehicle or be operated remotely. Something that could also be used when moving the camper around for storage, etcetera. Love the design of the x3. But gonna have to go with something that I can just crawl into when it's late. Not into always having to set up a tent. Especially when it's stormy or in bear country.

    Awesome video and discussion. I used to tent camp but I have developed chronic lower back pain and that keeps me from camping. A bed is now a requirement 😅. I also have 3 teenage boys with different preferences. Maybe someday a patriot camper can work for someone like me….set-up has to not involve reaching, lifting anything more than 20 pounds past chest height…..

    Great video guys, but I need some help. We have a brand new 2022 X3, picked up mid September. Brad mentioned the diesel heater. When we were up in the Colorado mountains we used it every night but had some trouble with it. The heater fires right up and blows nice warm air inside the tent to take the edge off (which it does nicely). However, after an hour or so, the heater stops blowing warm air and only blows cold air?? The heater is still running, controller set to infinity mode…but no hot air. I reached out to our dealer who said…sorry but we are not experts on the heater. I then reached out to the only other (newest), dealer who assured me they would contact Webasto and get to the bottom of it…they never did. Who can help me trouble shoot the heater and get it working correctly? I was informed our heater is a new unit for 2022. We would also like to adjust the water temperature as it’s boiling hot initially. This is typically not a problem as you can blend cold water in the sink. However, when using the shower, there is no cold water to blend only hot comes out. So in order to use the shower, you have to waste a significant amount of water before it’s cool enough to take a shower and avoid scolding oneself. We were sent pictures of the temperature adjustments on the heater itself, however, our units do not have these controls. Apparently the pictured two black adjustment knobs were on a previous or older unit. I sure would appreciate some contact information for someone that could help us. Thank you.

      There's been a lot of discussion on that topic on the FB group. Something about needing to tune the mixture for the right elevation. If CO is your regular spots, then they say you need to get to a webasto dealer (you can search online) and that they can help make the adjustments to that you're burning at the right ratios.

    Mate, your love of these patriot campers is questionable. At nearly 70k over in Australia, there are way better options for what is basically a camper trailer. Not that big a following over here for them and resale is woeful
