    Nice video, I just bought my first camera ever. Canon EOS R6 and RF50mm, and I really need help with zoom. How can I deactivate AF? 🤦🏻‍♀️Pls help 😂

    • @TonyMellinger

      Zoom? That lens doesn’t have zoom cause it’s a prime 🤷🏼‍♂️ you should have a setting in the red menu to turn off the AF.

    Hy Tony, great video man! Do you think would be Up to the task for weddings having a R6? I have seen It is not a Monster with flares in classic couple poses? Same doubt with 35. I LOVE this two LENSES for weddings but not sure they are trustable as first choice for a given focal lenght. Thanks!

      Yep. I shot with it for 2 years as a pro camera. It holds its own but as a pro, I’d much rather use the other offerings from canon like the R5 and R6

    Great information! Nice video and your actually pleasing to watch...unlike some others that I won't mention here...lol. My better half and I own 2 r6's with the kit lens. These could be great first primes. I do have a 50mm 1.8 fd lens...used it with adapter for fuji xt2...manual of course, but it worked great...
    As always, ( for first time viewer ), keep up the good work and keep'em flying....

    Hello and thank you for this video.
    Sorry I am French and I do not understand technical English very well ... So I will be buying the Canon eos RP (small, light and not very expensive) very soon, so I would like to know what the best Lens on the Canon RP (I only take photos, no Videos): Canon RF 35mm f / 1.8 Macro IS STM or Canon RF 50mm f / 1.8 STM? Which one has the best image rendering for photos? Are they close enough in terms of image quality? Thank you in advance for your answers,
    Sincerely,
    Philgood ...

    • @TonyMellinger
      @TonyMellinger  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as quality, they are both very similar. Because you’ll have the RP with no IBIS I’d suggest the 35mm with IS

    What are your thoughts on the sigma 35mm f1.4 art for video? Thinking to buy that one for my R

    • @TonyMellinger
      @TonyMellinger  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t spent much time with it to be honest, I do have the Canon 35mm f1.4L and that is an excellent lens. I’d imagine it’s similar build and quality. I’ve heard great things about it. The big question is 1. Are you ok with using the adaptor and 2. Are you ok with No image stabilization. Have you tried the new RF 35mm? It’s a pretty good little lens.

    Hey Tony, what do you think for newborn photography between 50 and 35? Do you suggest something else? I have the 24-105 f4 with the R6 as for now for newborns...

    • @TonyMellinger
      @TonyMellinger  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely suggest the 50mm over the 35mm. You’ll get a more pleasing bokeh and be able to control your background better. Also, if you’ve already got the 24-105 f4 (which is an excellent lens) you already have a wide angle lens. The 50 will give you more of a portrait look.

      It’s great! The only big drawback is it doesn’t have IS. If you have the new R5 or R6, the ibis takes care of that. The other drawback is the tiny filter size. Makes it hard to control your settings for video. Other than that though it looks great!
