I'm from New York. Long Island to be exact. I'm fascinated by your hometown. When you called "North Pole" a city my mouth dropped! So cute. To me that's as rural as you can get. Thank you for sharing your cute little Alaskan town with all of us.

Was stationed at the Air Force base there for 3 years in the late 60's and the early 70's. Went thru North Pole a lot going to downtown Fairbanks. Sure has changed a lot. Would love to go back and look around.

You have quite a variety of stores and businesses for your population. Seems like a nice place to live other than the temperature extremes and ice and snow.

The temps are easier to deal with than many other things in the lower 48.

I think they determined the population was closer to 10,000 in actuality (this was years ago so could be more now). The city limits are just absurdly small so most people live outside them and aren't included in the census.

I live in a big city. We have more variety, of course, but the basics are comparable. Our public school system has around 120,000 students and our largest church has over 10,000 members. Despite the large numbers, we still shop at Wal-Mart, eat at McDonald's, get a coffee at Starbucks, attend the church that best fits our beliefs and needs and we have tourist attractions too. No matter the square mileage or population density both places have a lot to offer to those who wish to call it home.

I’ve eaten at most of the restaurants and I have always like the Pagoda. No more BoxOffice. One refinery, there were two. Several small airstrips in the area. 3 roundabouts, two overpasses and Chena Lakes right down the road.

I enjoyed your video, getting to see what's still around and what's new since I moved out of the Borough to the Lower 48 a few years ago. I'm jealous too; I've lived in several different states since I moved and have not found any place with Chinese food that I've liked as much as I like the Pagoda. Thanks for making your vlogs.

Reminds me of where me & my husband currently live. We left Chicago & moved to the middle of nowhere in the desert of new mexico. My husband is stationed here. We are so not used to it. We have a small mall that is mostly vacant, mostly family owned dinners & 1 Walmart. The mountains are pretty here for sure but to do most of our shopping we also have to drive about an hour and a half away! It's so different yet kind of peaceful. We dont have laser tag like you but we have a nice movie theatre! Dont think I'll ever get used to 110°+ every day though lol. Much prefer my colder north weather.
