A great salmon fly for Norway
This is a large catching fly to the Bjerkriem river. However, this pattern will also be great for other Norwegian rivers such as Mandal, Orkla, Gaula, Otra and more
A nice light pattern that works really well in sizes 6,8,10 and 12
This is a fly that should be in the box in several sizes when you go to Norway and fish for salmon

Nice recipe. I liked the false (throat) hackle technique.

I have been in Bjerkreim this July, sadly we had hard times with the weather and water levels, I only got one good take on our last fishing day(on my Bjerkreimsflua), but lost it after a short fight.
The takleshop in bjerkreim is closing after this season, we bought some original Bjerkreim Flys from the shop as a souvenir, the wife of the shopowner invented it many years ago.
According to the original description of the shop, the body is made with gold tinsel and ribbed also gold. also they put on a gold pheasant crest topping on top of the black wing.
    cheers

    Hello.
I will be arriving to Norway this weekend and I will be spending 1 week fishing on Bjerkreim river. As far as I know, there should be salmon, but apart for salmon, are there other predator species in the river (such as pike, perch, zander etc.)?
If there are, what other species are present?
    Thanks
