I appreciate the review! I was on the verge of purchasing the X22i but knowing how frustrated I can get with bad customer service, this is not something I want to experience if I have to deal with customer service (which seems likely) especially when investing this much money into a piece of equipment. Thank you for the honest review.

So sorry that I missed this! And yes, that is my exact mindset here! At this price point, I would appreciate more of a white glove service! I am not sure if these practices have continued post the major part of pandemic, but it was a very unsatisfactory experience from what I deemed a reputable brand. Hindsight, I would have gone with a simpler setup with less worry for issues :(

My pleasure!! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out the video!! I really do love this treadmill, through all the frustrations, currently the Control Module is down again!! But, my son who's a nationally ranked runner, has used this thing to no end! I'm ordering the part to replace it again! I hate that I've had to go through that at this price point, it's a high risk/high reward scenario unfortunately. I dont want to spend more money on the market so I haven't even looked to see what's out there currently in 2024, but I would hope the machines they are making today have been upgraded internally!

Thank you, I really appreciated this review as the X22i was on my short list. After reading all I have on this and other brands/models, and watching reviews such as yours, I'm getting more comfortable with my choice of the Matrix TF50. I haven't made the purchase yet, but my only hesitation at this point is the price; even the legacy model is more than I'd hoped to spend. I'll likely buy it in the next couple of weeks, once work in our place is done and I'm sure it will fit in the space.

Fabulous, honest review! Great workout space btw. My wife and I thank you! The X22i was our future choice, and it is no longer a consideration. All of the negatives that you described would take the enjoyment of ownership and enjoyment of use to a level of frustration that is to be avoided. We were simply exploring a replacement unit WHEN we might need one. We have a Muscle D unit that is beastly, the deck is long, there's all the needed buttons to change speed and incline, but no screen for all of this interactive activity. We simply play music. The Muscle D has a 20 incline (it's steep!), and it has lots of speed options the highest being a full sprint pushing any person's limit and probably exceeding most people's capabilities. This unit has been flawless! We both use it daily, and we have since owning it. It has seen hundreds of hours of use thus far. It has been and continues to be perfect in its performance. I merely offer this brand as a consideration for your other viewers. Best of health!!!

Guess why I'm here a year later? My X11i has died, again, and I'm pondering the X22i. My experience has been exactly the same. I've had to change out 2 of those motor controller boards, and 1 motor. Now my console is completely dead. Extended warranty has helped, but the headaches are real. I see here that things haven't really changed much with the newer models, so I will look elsewhere. That 40 deg incline is going to be missed! Anyway, Christopher hits it on the head with this review. If you simply must have one of these, you should consider a service contract absolutely mandatory.

I had the same problem with NordicTrack, one red flag is that a treadmill with a 4.0 motor only rated for 300lb user, that means the treadmill is not a solid one - you should check out the 3G Cardio, they have a Elite Runner that comes with lifetime warranty, built for 400 lb users, big motor, smooth and I mean smooth and its under 4000 - it doesn't have that big screen but its a super solid treadmill that was built to last even under heavy usage..........

I bought one of these as a birthday present for my wife. Unfortunately, waiting for her birthday ran out the 30 day return clock, so we're stuck with it.
Assembly will require two things they don't mention: A tap and die set (U.S. not metric this time), and a roll of black duct tape.
Assembly was straightforward except for the fact that the screws don't go in the threaded holes. The factories in China run their taps well beyond their useful life, so you have to chase the holes. I've had this problem with other products, not just Nordictrack. The vertical ones are too deep for a standard tap, but those did just barely work without chasing. This may be why they're having the factory ship with screws in the holes, so at least you can get them started. But the ones for the long screws that hold the handle bars onto the machine just wouldn't work at all. Once you get past the thread problem, the rest of the assembly is easy.
The other problem is the plastic covers that are supposed to snap around the screws you just put in to hold the uprights to the base. The little loops break off. The cover on the right side is particularly important because it protects the delicate little wires that connect the controls and screen to the motors. I like Gorilla brand tape for this.
The wi-fi thing was a mess, more so than is typical. We had it working for a while, fortunately long enough to determine that it was completely useless and unnecessary. There's a paperclip in a hole reset that solves that problem, but leaves you with their clunky manual mode. It takes three minutes to boot up, and you have to do two screen presses to get into manual mode. Use it immediately because there's a ten minute time-out that'll shut it down and make you do the re-boot again. The screen would be nice if you could get TH-cam, Amazon, Netflix, etc. on it. But it's really just there to upsell you on their canned workouts.
The solution to the screen thing is to just hang an iPad in front of it. The iPad is smaller than the screen, so we put a piece of cardboard between them to eliminate the glare.
The high step up from the floor to the belt is annoying. It's quieter than the old one it replaced, but it has an intermittent squeak that seems to sync with some footsteps.

My frame cracked on the x22i model recently. I was told I would get an email response within 14 business days once I spoke with a agent. To my surprise I got an email 4 days later and they offered to send me a new one or I could pay the difference for an upgraded version. I will be getting a upgraded version they are offering for $300 more. Truth be told , the treadmill glitched often before the frame cracking but it’s the best running experience I have had on treadmill. I paid with the monthly installments because it was hella pricey and they offered 0% financing for the duration of the loan.
