This is insane! I swear I learn so much watching these. Never think how you will win, just think how you will loose and prevent that action :D - Timmy's Proverbs
hi anybody got an idea on what kind of deck to do i like the red decks plus the black decks i don't know if i should make tow different decks with them or use them both ill need more red mana and monsters if i do but i was just asking thanks
i played this 10 years ago from the age of 10 to 14 or sth like that... it vvas a hilarious time, if i vvas rich id still play this for fun on my 100 m boat, inviting some top players from time to time
At 3:28 Yann - "I see your next attack is not lethal (9 dmg), let me make it lethal on board for you (10 dmg)" - casts Supreme Verdict... One of the biggest punts I have seen at the WMC.
They can sell the promos, However if you are doing an event where the prize or just entering gives you a promo then they have no choice to. Usually pre-release seal events people get promos for entering like the Megantic Sliver. Then they just resell it to the shop and the shop sells it. So there is no harm assuming they are properly giving them out in the first place.
What was wizards thinking when they made a 2 cost creature that pumps out free crusader of odric cards? (a 3cmc, absolutely free -- you don't even need to pay shipping or handling)
You did not understand anything to what happened this whole match, did you? Yes, drawing rackdos return was a win, but so was drawing bonfire of the damned. At the previous turn, the two same cards would have won the game, plus kessig wolf run, so that's quite a lot of chances actually. The French was on the ropes, but he had exhausted is opponent enough that he had a good chance of finishing him there.
The real winner of the 2013 World Magic Cup - mana screw. While we didn't get to see mulligan decisions or anything, the two game 3s Hungary lost suffered severe mana screw. And they *still* could have won if they'd used Underworld Connections at the right time (from a survival point of view). Still, most decks only get screwed (miss a third land) about ~6% of the time if they're willing to mulligan down to 6, and that's estimating 24 lands. So to happen twice in one round... bad luck!
He used it during his turn just in case he drew a planeswalker/creature/sorcery that he wanted to cast. He wouldn't be able to cast any of those if he used connections on his opponent's turn.
You choose if you want to attack the planeswalker or the player himself. Then the defender blocks as usual to either defend himself or the planeswalker.
Still, I don't agree with that line of play. Having just landed the Garruk, he should've known that next turn he'd draw 3 cards off of the -3 as long as he lived, meaning he should've been focusing on surviving (where I imagine most of the sorcery-speed cards in the are incapable of helping). Basically, I would've played a little more conservatively - "I'm at 4, but I get to draw 4 cards next turn and possibly a Thraggy, I'll hold off on the Underworld until I need to pull the trigger".
I think@Nick Rosen the white decks with life link are great and black vampire decks with life link is also great almost equal but i would rather have white but black has more monsters in my opinion
Wow pretty much 2 miracles in teh same match unreal. Raph was freaking out after his game too lol and i dont even think timothees team thought they were gonna win lol
90% of the skill in this game comes from deck building and the deck you choose to play based on what you think others are playing. When you wind up in the mirror then that skill is removed and it comes down to whoever makes less mistakes. Depending on the type of deck it can be really easy to not make mistakes or even for there be no opportunity to make a mistake that isn't "brain-fart obvious". So in mirror matches there is a lot of luck involved.
Luck is part of the game, but you have to play to your outs, etc. The game has a nice mix of skill and luck...if no skill was involved it would be impossible to be a "pro" player bc no one would be consistent.
Вот интересно. Люди комментируют футбол. Бокс. Матчи в доте, в кске. Шахматы комментируют, комментируют гонки....Но карточные игры? Жаль я ничего не понимаю, просто интересно, что можно так оживленно один час комментировать.
still a gross misplay... draw before garruk is the best line... then you find bonfire and would've casted it to kill the ooze (cutting opponent down to just rakdos return / bonfire as outs)
you can lose with a planeswalker in play. you lose when your life reaches 0 or you can no longer draw cards from your deck, unless a card or effect states otherwise.

I think there is nothing more to see in the world after game 2 Simonot vs. Korbl simply amazing!!!
Just watching this video teaches you sooooooo much if you just pay attention
9:18 Epic foreshadowing :P
Is it just me, or is the audio on these videos really low volume?
He is actually VERY insightful
So if my local is selling the promo cards can I get them in trouble bc they r suppose to give them away correct
i love this commentator >.

Top deck magic. Brilliant to watch.
Turn up your speakers.
THEY WON EVERYTHING IN THE GAME!!!!
i dunno what bonefire cast you are tlaking about, but odds are the damage was directed to a planeswalker to kill it
That was amazing
I love these commentators
I need decklists
This took place in Barbados right.
Awesome. Love topdeck wins when facing imminent death.
Is LSV essentially retired now?

wasn't supposed bonfire deal damage to simonot too?
I think you should learn. :P. It's awesome!
did australia compete?
you can target player or planeswalker when planeswalker is in play

He still plays but he's taking a step back from the main stage for a bit.
The brilliant art of topdecking...
Is Badger from Breaking Bad commentating?
The French have done it! Favorite part of the whole championship is the ending!
Spoilers holy shit!
don't read the comments before to look entirely the video please
It is so stressful watching Simnot and Korbl's game haha
He used it during his turn just in case he drew a planeswalker/creature/sorcery that he wanted to cast. He wouldn't be able to cast any of those if he used connections on his opponent's turn.
And yet there are people who state that Standard is boring :)

i agree and in some cases money can make a big difference =(
Bien joué les gars ! Mérité pour Mr Raphy !
Wow pretty much 2 miracles in teh same match unreal. Raph was freaking out after his game too lol and i dont even think timothees team thought they were gonna win lol
To bad that Timothée Simonot did'nt do a "top deck flip" like Craig Jones did. That would have been EPIC!
Spanish subtitles pls 😪
Levy saw the future.
LOL that assisted handshake... HAHAHAAHA!!!
I'm watching this before I start playing
WOW that rakdos return!!
Wow, talk about last minute miracle hay-makers. Great match.
12:25 Why didn't he ping the wolf to put a +1/+1 counter on Olivia?
Raph and France congrats perhaps one day we will all come back ;)
ALLEZ LA FRANCE !!! ALLEZ LA FRANCE !!! Le meilleure pays magic au monde !!
Pourquoi on a une mauvaise réputation ???

Did he say "Scoop phase."?
XD That's awesome!

Teach me how to top deck!
that's how you play Jund. The nature of the deck is that it topdeck's well.
i don't get how Kocsis was swinging for so much, does anybody care to explain?
Вот интересно. Люди комментируют футбол. Бокс. Матчи в доте, в кске. Шахматы комментируют, комментируют гонки....Но карточные игры? Жаль я ничего не понимаю, просто интересно, что можно так оживленно один час комментировать.
I have beated Timothée at the Japan expo, in Paris, during a random match just for fun.
Je jouais golgari controle.
That was great
except the jund mirror is basically a predestined top deck battle
Dat topdeck...
And dat one, and dat one, and dat one, and...
Is it just me, or does Ervin Hosszu look like a young Bilbo Baggins?
still a gross misplay... draw before garruk is the best line... then you find bonfire and would've casted it to kill the ooze (cutting opponent down to just rakdos return / bonfire as outs)
Epic Victoire pour la France !!!!OUIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Champions!
france champion on est les best belle victoire bravo team france
A lot is luck based in this game, once you play for a while you learn to accept it.
you can lose with a planeswalker in play. you lose when your life reaches 0 or you can no longer draw cards from your deck, unless a card or effect states otherwise.
Funny how one mistake will cost u the whole game
lmao, they need to make the other shirts get on par with the blue one
1:20:52 This is Magic!
this game is more nerdy than me :
omg I'm so sad I missed the streamchat when this happened XD
@Nick Rosen red decks are good but i dont like how every thing cost so much in the games it busts my balls
Clearly Nassif showed the frenchmen a thing or two.
i want the white tshirt
"You've got a legendary Vampire trying to suck the blood out of the French." = lol
It's Bonfire Time.
Yeah.
C'mon Fire
OOOHHHHHH !!
Luck modified by a lot of skill. You make your own deck so while what you draw is luck, what is available to draw is not.
he had no red mana
He should have flipped it.
yugioh heart of the cards
Wtf am I watching? And why am I still watching it? I have no idea how to play this
gabor , hizo bolsa al franchute..
RAKDOS' RETURN!
Luck based? talk about other trading card games. Magic is by far the least luck based card games.
This is so sad.
Hey!
1:06:27 Best moment of the whole event! hahaha
Si si la france, ça reviens de loin comme la coupe du monde 98 ahaha :p
Your opening hand is luck....
Rich Hagon at the end there hahaha
pre game- FRANCE FRANCE reason_U/W
It's not a France's team but Israel's one :P
One draw!
Vive Le France!!!!!!!!! LE retour de rakdos gange le match!!!
Ah. Lucky doesn't count in Magic.
when the jund hungarian payer used his second connections in game 2 that lost them that match he was being really greedy with his cards
Ya, don't play poker if your upset with luck in Magic lol!
