Hillary, I think the 2 blue and white platters would look really good on that wall outside of your pantry. You could use them easy with the spring holders that you hang them with. My pantry is just like yours, deep and narrow. Thanks for the ideas! xo

Using the pull out drawers in the pantry is such a great idea. I don’t have a pantry. I use a hutch in my kitchen to store food. I enjoy how you always make the best of what you have.💗

My favorite part (besides the hack of moving the wire drawers in---what a perfect fit!) is that your pantry is the kind many of us have (if we're lucky enough to have one at all). When I see the room sized pantry "refresh" videos I really can't relate. I am just thankful for the little closet style pantry I have. When I looked at this house the real estate agent said, "oh, a pantry closet! The man who built this house loved his wife!" 😊

A teeny tiny pantry is better than no pantry. I turned a closet just around the corner from my kitchen into a pantry. It was a coat closet originally, but i measured , got metal shelves to fit and it turned out to be a wonderful thing. tfs 🥰❄☃☔🌞🏜✝💗

I have a small pantry also, and try to keep tabs on what I have so I don't over buy. I love how your family lives without excess, but within your means and comfortably. We live in an extremely materialistic world these days and it is so hard not to over spend and acquire more than what we actually need. I struggle with letting my "wants" dictate over my "needs". It is so refreshing to see a family that lives intentionally, putting first those things that matter most and setting boundaries for everything else. I so enjoy your channel and how you live life, you are someone who is truly inspiring! God Bless!

We have a small home too with three kids and I love watching your videos about managing that space. It’s encouraging and gives me perspective on how to be content with what we have. We don’t have any kind of closet for a pantry so I bought a large hutch off marketplace a couple of years ago and it’s functions as our pantry. It’s beautiful and it’s one of my favorite pieces in our home.

Girl that tinie tiny pantry is awesome! I have none lol . It is deep. I may keep party bowls etc down in your storage for when you need them. Also, I thought it may be nice to put the blue on the wall or incorporate them with your silver by the dinning room table Just incorporating those two blue pieces I think would look lovely 🥰🙋🏻‍♀️👏🏼👏🏼 just a thought

I bought a very large set of Currier & Ives dishes (mostly because I fell in love with yours), but paid $250! I keep most of them in a built-in corner China cabinet in my dining room (and a handful in my kitchen cabinet for every day use). I have two platters hanging on the dining room wall, next to the china cabinet, in spring-loaded dish hangers. I love the way they look in my blue-&-white dining room. My kitchen has a very small pantry, very few cabinets, and only 2 original drawers. I bought a small, stand-alone cabinet with 2 small drawers, to give more storage in the kitchen. I definitely do not buy in bulk. Neither I, much less my husband or grandson, would ever remember, much less use, extra stuff. Those huge drawers in your island are wonderful! Blessings!❤

I downsized a little over a year ago and bought a smaller home since I live alone and am in the senior part of my life and my kitchen is so small that it doesn't have a pantry or a place to put a table and chairs. Hi Hillary, have you thought of using the space on the inside of your pantry door? You could get an over the door organizer for your canned goods to free the shelf space, or you could move the hooks for mops and aprons to the door, freeing that spot for something else.

Nice pantry. If you get the three tiered wired shelves at Walmart, you can use another cupboard for canned goods. Put date on front of can in large font. Put newer items in the back. These shelves were about $5 each and are about 10 inches wide. Really has helped us.

This has been a great encouragement. We have 2 small pantry cupboards we have brought into a corner of our kitchen and I have been wanting to reorganize them. I have cookbooks and tall cereal boxes and a few large bowls that sit on top and I really want to clear enough space so I can hide those things away. The cupboards across from them have art supplies and I need to find new space for those so they aren't taking up kitchen space. If I can do that I will be set. The problem is the only space is in the basement but that's not where we do art.

The blue and white platters might look nice on the wall beside your dining room table. You could change out some of the silver items you have on the ledge. I have a pantry that is about the same size as yours. Mine isn't as deep. I actually like having a smaller pantry because then food doesn't get pushed to the side and not eaten. It keeps me from over buying and wasting food.

Hillary, you are so enjoyable but I have noticed it’s hard for you to downsize. The two blue platters and the two white serving bowls were hard for you to make a decision about. You are definitely not a minimalist. You justify everything you can’t decide to keep or not by putting it in the basement. I used to be just like you but now I have no basement or garage so I have become ruthless about letting things go. I’m not being critical because you have a very warm cozy home. I love your style. @@OldWorldHome -I feel that you are more of a minimalist and also practical. 2 white serving bowls is not excessive. You have a growing family and may need an extra bowl. I love the 2 blue platters and also would be hesitant to just get rid of them. I think they would look great hung up. Have Dan hold them up against the wall and you can step back to confirm before possibly hanging. I have a stash of platters, etc. I keep in the basement that I use seasonally.

I think it depends on your season of life. Maybe if she was an empty nester looking to downsize, or single, but she has a growing family. I think people use the word minimalist to compare one another, but I think it really is using what you have, and getting rid of what you don’t, which I think she does really well. Not everyone wants to be a minimalist. Also, I think the platters would look great on the wall.

@@tpeters7358 -Totally agree! I am no minimalist and never will be and don't need to be! I like to enjoy life and enjoy the things I have. Not everyone has to live with little possessions unless that is their choice! I thought the previous comment from someone else to Hillary was somewhat rude.
