Grew up in Boston. We wore those when I was a kid in the 70’s with “kuda” jackets with the requisite shamrock on the collar. The only thing “Boston” about those hats is the name, scalley cap. I see now that most people call them flat caps or news boy caps. Go on amazon and pick up a legit wool or tweed cap for $20-$30, or less. I hate when companies play the “Boston” card (or any other card), mark up the prices and sell junk.

I really don't understand the negative comments. I'm a bald guy so hats are important to me. I've ordered 3 from Boston Scally and they are awesome. Well made, great look and fit.
Just discovered this company in the last couple of weeks. I've been looking at three different styles that I really like. The southie, the whiskey cherry oak plaid and my favorite look that I'm leaning toward is the lunch box. Not sure which one I want to get yet

I just got my black rose Peaky yesterday and it’s so sweet! It’s Perfection. I ordered the M/L My question is how long after does it stretch cuz it’s perfect and I’m arrears it’s gonna stretch too much of it does? Thanks for your video. Great job!
I actually own several Boston Scally Co hats and I think they’re great. I see a lot of hate on here for different reasons but I’m a satisfied customer. I received a hat that had a slight imperfection and they asked me to send a picture. After sending the picture they sent me a replacement hat no problem and they let me keep the other hat. Give these guys a chance.
Really nice looking but a wool hat in the summer? Do they make any summer hat? Like a woven cotton, I just think those wool hats are going to be so hot in the sun, unless you play like me, In the trees.
I have one of their Scrapper hats, and it's cotton and does well on a hot day.
Got mine the other day , little too small return was on point and I freakin love the quality of it ! Haters gonna hate ! And you ain’t gettin no hat off amazon for $20 that ain’t made in China bro !

Hey bro... You said you were "about" a 7.5ish hat size. I'm a 7.25 & always deal with these types of hats fitting on the "too large" side & end up just not wearing them. How many inches was your dome when you measured? I'm exactly 23". How close are you to this?
I have several Boston Scally hats and love them! They do not claim to be from Boston and it says on their website that they are designed in the U.S.A., but made in P.R.C. to keep manufacturing costs down...unfortunately, the savings don't seem to be passed on to the consumer, the price is on the high end! Also, the wool hats say they are "wool blend". However, they are well made, comfortable and keep your head warm in cooler weather. I think with some water proofing spray they would be water resistant, too. Just like David says, once you put them on, there is no comparison to cheaper hats! I have a hard time getting hats to fit too, but these are awesome! I had to return a couple because I'm in between sizes and fitment varies with style and had no problem with returns. Shipping was quick and any questions were answered fast through Messenger. The price had me hesitant at first but I gave them a try and now they're my go-to hat people!
I bought one and was majorly disappointed. I own two Mucros caps which I purchase in Ireland that were much cheaper than the Boston Scally Caps. I bought the Scally caps because 1) I thought they were American made, and 2) I believed they were made out of quality materials. Boy was I wrong on both accounts!! They are in fact made in China out of entirely man-made products. The imitation leather on mine is so thin it couldn't possibly pass for anything other than cheap. And the polyester is so thin - the hats almost feel like felt. I just hope I can get my money back - that is after the Boston Scally Company double charges me for shipping each way!! $20!!!

It's nice to see stylish caps for men with bigger noggins. I'm a size eight and up until now the only hats that fit were from stormy kromer.
I'd be curious what your review would be on the kromer.
How long took it to get it delivered?
Hat sizes are not consistent. I ordered three hats x-large. One fits the other two does not.
I just ordered three, thinking I was buying an American made product from Boston. I now hear they are made in China. I think for what I paid for a China made product it was too much. Other China made flat caps are around $20.00. With taxes and shipping my bill was $140.00 for three hats. Sorry I ordered them now.
90% polyester, the material feels terrible, Overpriced for being China made, 90% polyester. I have a Wigens cap, all wool and cashmere that cost just a bit more. On the plus side, it looks good and construction is solid.
Good looking hats might have to check them out also you looked good in the ball hats.
#1. As soon as you order they send an email saying "Great News Your order has shipped, here is your tracking #". It took three to four days for it to ship. When I asked they stated it was the USPS. IT WAS NOT! USPS showed they picked it up four days later. #2. When it arrived and I opened it up, it was like a crinkled up ball of material. Horrible. #3. The color was WAY OFF. I was supposed to get the light green peaky hat. It was dark dark green. They blamed my computer that it doesnt always look the same on computers. BS!!!!! #4 I looked under the hat rim and it was all excess material loose and strains everywhere. GARBAGE! #5 Odd head shape like the guy in the video said. #6 They charge you to ship and return. I returned mine. I asked for the shipping back. Nothing. I will pay to take them to small claims just to get my $15-18 back just to prove a point. I think Mike Arone is full of himself and thinks he is Rocky. He portrays that he was a ppor kid having to go through garbage as a kid just to have a bike. Funny ... he went to Sacret Heart in Fairfield which is only $68,000/year. He thinks he is a Southie when he grew up in Waltham. A far cry from Southie. CON MAN. He has the drive to own a business but he has ZERO INTEGRITY!!!!!!! Used cars is more their speed. BOSTON SCALLY IS A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey Chris. my head measures 22 so are these true to size? should I go a size up? also, are they elasticy inside?
I love the style but that's about it! There is no band on the hat keep it snug. My lady friend measured my head per instructions......and after four returns.....I finally got the XX Large. But it's a loose fitting hat. Not pleased....sorry!!!

Where are they made ?
They're polyester. You can get the same hat on Amazon for $15. I wish I would have seen this thread before ordering mine. Now I'm out $17 - and if that's IF they refund my money.

Absolutely awful hats. I purchased a large and it was far too tight. So I returned and got the next size up. And the extra large was far too big. 90 percent polyester and 10 percent wool. Complete junk for 48 dollars. I do not recommend buying from them.

Boston Scally outsources to PRC “People Republic of China”. For $50 Id rather purchase a Mucros Weavers or Aran flat cap straight from Ireland. I get my scally caps on ‘weaversofireland’. From the SOURCE☘️
