    I'm like recommending "a man called ove" to every person I meet. It's an alltime favourite for me and it really changed me in a very special way.

    I picked up sleeping giants based on your recommendation and I love both of those books so I too am waiting eagerly for the next one! Warbreaker is now going on my must read list! A court of mist and fury is in room waiting for me once I finish the three I am currently reading!

    Hey Emily ! I was following your makeup chanel for over a year and never knew you had a booktube! I found out your booktube from naya read's and smiles's recommended channels. You should mention that you have a book channel in one of your makeup videos so that your subscribers can know you have such a great booktube channel ! xx, Maitha

    Your review on A Court If Mist And Fury is sooo helpful! I read the first in the series this summer and had a "mwa.." feeling. After your review from a few weeks back I picked the second one up anyway and I'm really loving it so far! (I love your videos btw 💖💖)

    So glad to hear that you loved Warbreaker. I have been meaning to read it for forever because I know I'll love it. I mean hello... Brandon Sanderson is amazing so how could I not? I think I'll try and get to it before the year is up. Hopefully 😊

    I LOVED Long Way but Closed and Common was really fantastic. She really plays with possible positive futures and questions of humanity so much further in that book.

    ACOMAF was so cringy for me, everyone was growling and snarling and "flipping rude gestures," it was cheesy and overdone, but I know a lot of people love it, so oh well.

    You're so lucky to be able to afford so many hardbacks. D; I can barely afford paperback lol.

    • @BookswithEmilyFox
      @BookswithEmilyFox  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      None of the hardbacks were bought new!
      Actually the only book that was bought new here was from Book Depository so it wasn't that expensive (the paperback one!).
      Most of my books are bought used!

    Sleeping giants sounds sooo interesting!! is there any explicit or triggering content in the book? what age range would you recommend it for?

  • @slreads7179
    @slreads7179 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    All of these books look so beautiful, and they sound so interesting! I've only read A Court of Mist and Fury, and I agree that it was pretty great (and I definitely agree that the third book was shit. no offense, but I thought it was a serious letdown and too fast paced like it was a war and they fought it in two weeks MAYBE. also, it felt like SJM was trying to wrap everything up too fast while leaving some stuff open, and it didn't go all that well in my opinion).

  • @roxemary
    @roxemary 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm getting hooked to Brandon Sanderson and it's your fault :p the sleeping giants format reminds me if The Three by Sarah Lotz, and I haven't recovered from that yet - it was really bad :( I'm curious about the Sarah J Maas series, since the throne of glass series has great books and very meeeeh ones

    I just don't get why everyone loves ACOMAF the most and why they hate ACOWAR..? Like.. why? I definitely love the third book the most and it's just so amazing. Maybe that's because it's more about the other characters and just.. ACOMAF was great but I just don't understand why everyone feels like it was the best. Cuz it was not. In my opinion at least.

    • @jesswillard5423
      @jesswillard5423 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ACOMAF was for sure not my favorite, it should be labeled "border-line erotica with hints of fantasy," haha.

  • @mythologiefan
    @mythologiefan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Faves videos are always fun, and good books are indeed a lot of fun to talk about.
    yesterday I finished a book that was so great, I can't get why it isn't more hyped or at least talked about and getting good reviews. It is called Only Human and written by J. D. Estrada.
    It is now one of my favorite books and that barely happens with me when I read fantasy. I am more of the literary fiction reader (and they are now way near boring, slice of life books, just find the ones that suit you).
    Anyway, the book is very creative in its plot, writing and concept (at least the way the concept is executed). It is totally clear that the author is also a poet and it has very good quotes and passages that made me think.
    It was the best way I have ever seen paranormal fantasy done including movies and tv shows I have watched.
    Definitely a rec. I think you will love it and will be pleasently surprised.

      Those audiobooks are around 25 hours each so if you read at a similar speed as the narrators then you have a loooong road ahead of you! That book is worth it though, the other two not as much ; )

    Hello Emily! I recently discovered Brandon Sanderson with Elantris! His stories and writing made me think of the French science-fiction bestselling author Pierre Bordage! I don't think his work is translated in English, but you speak french, right? If you have the chance, check out the blurbs of "Les Guerriers du Silence" or "Abzalon". They are truly amazing and science-fiction masterpieces!
