Thor, as a Viking fan for 56 years this is one of the biggest games that I can remember. All I can think about lately is, remember how excited we were for Kirks 2nd year with KoC and we were not let down (minus the injury of course) He was almost as good as sammy deep shot darnold is now, and I kinda really want to see KoC coaching him up a 2nd year where he is more familiar with the offense
The Packers may be one of the 5 best teams in the league and is solid in all phases. Any realistic chance of a SB win will be known after this weekend. They either can beat teams like this at the current point in the season or they can’t.
@@PackerBacker911 I think the really popular and historically successful teams just attract the most delusional fans. It would be hard for me to say I’m not worried about this game, the Vikings have struck lighting in a bottle and if the packers win this weekend I feel like it could really slow this team down
The Sam Darnold signing has turned out better than anyone could have imagined. And you can only hope that Mccarthy plays as well as Darnold. IMHO, I don't see how you can let a QB of this caliber just go. The Vikings had a plan for JJ, but Sam has thrown a wrench into that and the locker room has bought into Sam. I do not see how can't at least keep him for another year before making a decision to sign him to a long term deal. And paying a QB is not a bad thing as long as their play backs up the contract. What teams do you see in the playoffs year after year? Teams with a franchise QB that usually have been paid well. If the rookie scale contract hack works so well, then how come do you don't see more teams in the SB with these young QBs? Just something to think about, but ultimately I will trust KOC's decision on what to do for the future.
That is the first sensible thing I have read or heard. The Vikings are 13 & 2 and Thor said that JJ will be the QB next Year. What the Hell is he talking about. JJ hasn’t played a down in the NFL this year and he wants the Vikings to dump Sam and Start JJ. Can anyone guarantee that JJ won’t have Chronic problems with his knees. Another thing you are forgetting the main man Mr. I own the team Wilf. If the owner wants Sam they will be keeping him. One last thing, JJ played for Harbaugh and they won a national championship together so if JJ is that good why didn’t Harbaugh draft him and trade their present QB. Harbaugh could have a QB on a rookie contact and build his team. Did Harbaugh know something that other people didn’t. I’ve followed the Vikings for 56 years and I get so tired of hearing the so called experts tell us what the Vikings are going to do when they have no idea what the team will do. Quit with The JJ Bull 💩!
Agreed. Are we really going to turn a super bowl contender over to an unproven McCarthy and Daniel Jones just so we can have the privilege of overpaying for free agents? You can sign Darnold and still build the roster around him
Hopefully you guys can bring this up on feedback Friday. You know the eagles won the superbowl and still decided to move on from nick foles the next season because they had their franchise qb in carson wentz. Now that didn't work out necessary but it was the right move.

I get it dude, you're married to JJ McCarthy. You're selling us on the future of what could be while you blind yourself to the present we have now. If Sam continues to ball out and makes a deep run, keep him. Starting back at the ground floor with a Purdy project type with potential knee issues isn't the brilliant 4D chess move you make it out to be.
Burrow doesn’t deserve his money. Almost no QB does. Burrow is very very good, but if you aren’t good enough to overcome the deficiencies caused by your contract you don’t deserve the contract
I always hear about Deone Walker’s size, athleticism, and versatility from Thor, but what about his technique and mechanics, because if he can’t do those things at the college level, he would just be a wasted pick
I'm excited about the rest of this year and I'm excited about next year. But all this cap space that we will have next year needs to cover many expiring contracts we have on our current roster - not all of it can go toward a CB, DL, IOL, RB . . . Question Purple Daily: After covering expiring contracts, realistically how much cap space will there be?
That's a very good question. As tempting as it is to franchise Sam Darnold, they end up falling right back into the Kirk Cousins trap if they sign him.
This blind faith in JJ McCarthy is crazy to me. The guy got hurt already. We don’t know anything beyond his college accomplishments and his preseason games. Getting Darnold this off season on the tag is the way to go and let them compete.
if it is true until now JJ is a promise it is an aspiration what is expected of him to do in the season when he shows 14 victories will be when we believe in him for the moment OUR REALITY is SAM DARNOLD and we must continue with him for 2025 SAM must be signed for 3 years but we must stay with SAM....SKOL !!!!
I can easily see the Vikes drop these next two due to being a Vikes fan lol. Till we make a playoff push I’m still looking at them as who they have been the last few years. Regular season success is fun but the playoffs are different, I’m hoping to see this team take that next step as a playoff power!
Ifs its a big game and the vikings are favored , the vikings have never won a super bowl,They always choke, dont bet your house on the vikes you will homeless.
Sam isnt going anywhere why restart? He is already rich, its time to chase a ring. Want extra money sign some endorsement deals after you raise that trophy
This of course could be close. But I’m getting a feeling it might be an easier win than you think. Vikings absolutely have a better roster and coaching. Being at home, could be a two or three score win for the good guys. If not, a win, nonetheless.
As it gets towards playoffs some vikings fans become similar to se☆ually deprived, overly excited high school boys who believe they will never get the hot girl, thus becoming a turn off to the hot girl. Don't be that guy. Enjoy the ride and trust the process. If football is the most important thing in your life, you might reevaluate your life, dig deep and find what really lights you up the most. Spoiler, it will probably will not be football. Great year, tons of fun, the culture is phenomenal, let's enjoy this. Skol!
The Bengals defense is bad because they've DRAFTED BAD. Jesus. You have to have a QB on a rookie scale contract but not other positions? That's insanely idiotic.
the vikings are in no position to sign anyone to a 40-50 million dollar contract. they have a grand total of 3 draft picks (1 pick in the top 100) in next years draft. they're going to need all the cap space they can afford, this is all planned going back to 2022
@@kameronerdman5870 Everyone knows how many draft picks there are. McCarthy wasn't killed by a drunk driver and will be a Viking with 1st round talent who is not on the roster now. That is tantamount to having a second 1st round pick. It's not hard to understand.
So it's gonna be a big Hockenson game because he's finally healthy??? Yeah whatever. Who listens to 45 minutes of random opinions? I made it through 6 which is about 6 that I wish I had back.
The Sam Darnold hype train will be over after the Vikings lose to both The Packers and Lions. I have no faith the Vikings can beat high level teams because their running game is just too fragile.
yup, its crazy to me how many people who talk about football are saying we'd be dumb if we didn't sign sam to a massive extension, as if they aren't aware of the salary cap for the sport that they cover and talk about daily
and what happens if McCarthy ends up being mediocre at best? Fans/media/players would be really pissed off for not keeping Darnold especially if he finishes strong.
@@jiordone8563 that's the same shit people were saying about Kirk last year. "omg what happens if they let go of Kirk and the guy they replace him with sucks?!?!" I can almost guarantee McCarthy won't be mediocre, KOC passed on QBs for 2 years before drafting McCarthy, is it not obvious at this point that KOC gets the most out of QBs?? plus McCarthy has the added benefit of watching and learning the offense for a whole season while resting the knee
Solution: Darnold goes to the Rams and gets his multi year contract. Stafford comes to the Vikings to play 1 more season. McCarthy sits and learns for another season. Everyone is happy!
Making fun of Darnold during a magic season. Makes sense as a Vikings fan. You think he wears his JJ McCarthy jersey as he watches Darnold and Vikings have maybe the best season in franchise history?
@@LazyTelevison Darnold is being disrespected. I haven't made my decision, but if he balls in the playoffs how would you let him go to another team? 14 or 15 win seasons are super rare.
No then you pay JJ because he'll be a top 5 QB on earth. The point is finally drafting a QB of that caliber that you can take advantage of cap wise before you have to pay him. He'll be worth every penny & still extremely young at that point.
Darnold has been solid this year, but he is not elite. The fastest way to ruin a team is to pay big money to a non elite QB. He isn't on the tier with Mahomes and Allen.
Now google "Probability of winning the super bowl in any given season" then google "Probability of winning a super bowl with a QB on a rookie deal" The fact is. The probability of your favorite team EVER winning the super bowl is extremely unlikely.
yeah, so when you have a QB capable of putting up MVP numbers, you probably shouldn't let him walk out the door until you know what you have to replace him. Imagine what Darnold could do if he wasn't getting sacked 3 times a game, minimum.
@@PurplePope I just Googled it and it said " It doesn't matter if you have a QB capable of putting up MVP numbers, because it's extremely unlikely to win the Super Bowl anyway".
Hate to break it to Thor, but JJ is no Michael Penix. KOC wanted PENIX, JJ was a consolation prize. Go watch the McAfee show before the draft when he asked KOC about Penix.
Why does Thor pronounce Darnold as “Darn-old”
Burrow doesn’t deserve his money.
Reallllllly hate GB
Nice to have Thorsday
Don’t like that rock chalk Jayhawks hat……Go Cyclones!
Jones can also be primarily a insurance QB for a long playoff run( ie SF injuries at QB left them unable to compete vs Phi 2022)
This blind faith in JJ McCarthy is crazy to me. The guy got hurt already. We don’t know anything beyond his college accomplishments and his preseason games. Getting Darnold this off season on the tag is the way to go and let them compete.
not for 50 mil bro
You needed blind faith in Darnold this season.
if it is true until now JJ is a promise it is an aspiration what is expected of him to do in the season when he shows 14 victories will be when we believe in him for the moment OUR REALITY is SAM DARNOLD and we must continue with him for 2025 SAM must be signed for 3 years but we must stay with SAM....SKOL !!!!
@@All22Jim exactly😂 people acting like they knew Darnold would turn from bust to MVP candidate
@@EbbNFlowH2O every player has a chance of getting hurt on every play. Give me McCarthy for 5 million instead of Darnold for 40-50

LDR, Redmen , Richter, Murphy , Mcglovern and Turner to the rescue
I can easily see the Vikes drop these next two due to being a Vikes fan lol. Till we make a playoff push I’m still looking at them as who they have been the last few years. Regular season success is fun but the playoffs are different, I’m hoping to see this team take that next step as a playoff power!
Ifs its a big game and the vikings are favored , the vikings have never won a super bowl,They always choke, dont bet your house on the vikes you will homeless.

I don’t always agree with Thor but I agree 100% that it is time for Hockenson to wake up and prove his trade was worth it.
I don't care one whit about college football, but I bet many here do.
Love ya Mackadack, hope everything is OK!
Thor speaking in the third person 🙄
As it gets towards playoffs some vikings fans become similar to se☆ually deprived, overly excited high school boys who believe they will never get the hot girl, thus becoming a turn off to the hot girl. Don't be that guy. Enjoy the ride and trust the process. If football is the most important thing in your life, you might reevaluate your life, dig deep and find what really lights you up the most. Spoiler, it will probably will not be football. Great year, tons of fun, the culture is phenomenal, let's enjoy this. Skol!
Skol!
Thor needs to come out of the dark ages and get decent buds. His audio was sus.
The Bengals defense is bad because they've DRAFTED BAD. Jesus. You have to have a QB on a rookie scale contract but not other positions? That's insanely idiotic.
the vikings are in no position to sign anyone to a 40-50 million dollar contract. they have a grand total of 3 draft picks (1 pick in the top 100) in next years draft. they're going to need all the cap space they can afford, this is all planned going back to 2022
In effect, they have two 1st round draft picks joining the roster, plus Mekhi Blackmon and NaJee Thompson, and others.
@@leonardshevlin7260 that has no effect on the fact we only have 3 draft picks next year
@@kameronerdman5870 Everyone knows how many draft picks there are.
McCarthy wasn't killed by a drunk driver and will be a Viking with 1st round talent who is not on the roster now.
That is tantamount to having a second 1st round pick.
It's not hard to understand.
@@leonardshevlin7260 so what’s your point then 😂
@@kameronerdman5870 Everyone understands my point except you.
They can also trade 2026 picks for 2025 picks.
"Darn-old" gets me every. time.
Sam Darnold was nine months old the day Jaren Hall was born.
play gm here tag donald and trade him Vikings age got donald to tenn for no 35,107,179 in 2025 and conditional 3 for 2026
Although the Packagers are playing better than that 1st game, so are the Vikings! Home field, baby! Skol Vikings 🙏
Cheers 🥃
Jj mccarthy was always the plan love sam but i agree we need to build this team up fd
yup, its crazy to me how many people who talk about football are saying we'd be dumb if we didn't sign sam to a massive extension, as if they aren't aware of the salary cap for the sport that they cover and talk about daily
and what happens if McCarthy ends up being mediocre at best? Fans/media/players would be really pissed off for not keeping Darnold especially if he finishes strong.
@@jiordone8563 And what happens if McCarthy ends up being better than Darnold for under 5 million? Fans/media/players would be really stoked!
BANNNG, I get a featured AJ on a THORSDAY, my GLORIOUS day is good
Solution: Darnold goes to the Rams and gets his multi year contract. Stafford comes to the Vikings to play 1 more season. McCarthy sits and learns for another season. Everyone is happy!

Ivan pace jr helping the run defense, contain Love too. And you have to get pressure vs Love otherwise he will pick you apart.
As a Vikings fan, they are the great letdown team. 55 years of letdowns.
Why would Darnold be just as happy about joining a team that gave up draft picks as about being a free agent and joining a team with all their picks?
Come back soon Phil!!! Show definitely is NOT the same 👎
Minnesota always drops the ball on important games they will lose to the Packers and Detroit Vikings have always been Pretenders
Dar....nold
Making fun of Darnold during a magic season. Makes sense as a Vikings fan.
You think he wears his JJ McCarthy jersey as he watches Darnold and Vikings have maybe the best season in franchise history?
DarNOLD.
@@LazyTelevisonthis is just how Thor pronounces some words, this one being one of them. You must only listen to criticize
@@LazyTelevison Darnold is being disrespected. I haven't made my decision, but if he balls in the playoffs how would you let him go to another team? 14 or 15 win seasons are super rare.
@@1230cjones nah.. he’s been hating on darnold and stoking qb bs all year for clicks.
Guy sucks.
I don’t understand..we have to pay quarterback eventually. You will say, you will draft another QB after JJ 4 years.
But that’s 4 years from now. We have other building to do between now and then.
No then you pay JJ because he'll be a top 5 QB on earth. The point is finally drafting a QB of that caliber that you can take advantage of cap wise before you have to pay him. He'll be worth every penny & still extremely young at that point.
If that happens, it will be okay because we will keep winning since we finally have the coaching to do so! Holy grail of sports circumstances! Lol
Darnold has been solid this year, but he is not elite. The fastest way to ruin a team is to pay big money to a non elite QB. He isn't on the tier with Mahomes and Allen.
kirt was a mid QB getting high end money. SKOL 💜 that's 13 we got!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thor on that Wal-Mart internet plan.
So when McCarthy's time for a contract comes up do you just let him go? Must be the plan. That's what the Chiefs did, right?
The Chiefs won a Super Bowl with Mahomes on his rookie deal. That's what you want to happen here right?
Now google "Probability of winning the super bowl in any given season" then google "Probability of winning a super bowl with a QB on a rookie deal" The fact is. The probability of your favorite team EVER winning the super bowl is extremely unlikely.
@@PurplePope Google told me since it's extremely unlikely to win the Super Bowl it doesn't matter what any teams do.
yeah, so when you have a QB capable of putting up MVP numbers, you probably shouldn't let him walk out the door until you know what you have to replace him.
Honestly this channel without Mackey is trash
for the love of god can we please make AJ the permanent producer for these shows?? Its very obvious he's better at the job and certainly more likable
Hate to break it to Thor, but JJ is no Michael Penix. KOC wanted PENIX, JJ was a consolation prize. Go watch the McAfee show before the draft when he asked KOC about Penix. Look at the body language and facial expression of KOC. There's a REASON they have never shown the Vikings war room reaction to Atlanta's pick.
